Abstract
【解決手段】本発明は、内部に空隙を有すると共に、前記内部の空隙には熱分解によりガスを発生する物質を含む密閉型の電気化学素子用の構造体に関する。
また、本発明は、正極、負極、セパレーター、電解液、素子ケース及び前記電気化学素子用の構造体を備える電気化学素子に関する。
Description
直径3mm、長さ57.5mmのポリプロピレン材質の中空筒状管の内部にベンゾイルパーオキシド0.3gを入れた後、前記中空筒状管の両端は熱融着により封止して電気化学素子用の構造体を製造した。
ベンゾイルパーオキシドに代えて、ジ(2,4−ジクロロベンゾイル)パーオキシドを使用した以外は、実施例1の方法と同様にして電気化学素子用の構造体を製造した。
正極活物質としてLiCoO294重量%、導電材としてアセチレンブラック3重量%とバインダーとしてPVDF3重量%を混合してNMP(N−メチル−2−ピロリドン)に加えて正極スラリーを製造した後、これをアルミニウム(Al)集電体上に塗布、乾燥して正極を製造した。
実施例1に従い製造された電気化学素子用の構造体に代えて、実施例2に従い製造された電気化学素子用の構造体をセンターピンとして使用した以外は、実施例3の方法と同様にして電池を製造した。
センターピンとして実施例1に従い製造された電気化学素子用の構造体に代えて、両端が閉塞されていないステンレス製の中空筒状の通常のセンターピン(ドンジン産業、鉄製3φセンターピン)を使用した以外は、実施例3の方法と同様にして電池を製造した。
実施例3及び比較例1に従い製造された電池を用いて電池の安全性評価を行った。電池の安全性評価は、容量2400mAhである電池を0.5Cにて4.2Vまで満充電して過充電実験を行った。過充電は18.5V、2Cにて行い、実験に際して電池の表面を完壁に断熱しパック中のような状況下で実験を行った。なお、CIDの短絡時間と電池の温度、電圧を測定し、その結果を図8及び図9に示す。
実施例3及び比較例1に従い製造された電池の高温保存安全性を評価するために熱衝撃実験を行った。実験は、0.5C、4.2Vまで満充電した後、75℃に昇温して6時間維持し、さらに−40℃まで冷却して6時間維持する過程を12回繰り返し行った後、電池の電圧降下と抵抗の増加を観察し、その結果を下記表1に示す。

- 電気化学素子用の構造体であって、
中空筒状管と、
高分子よりなると共に、前記中空筒状管の一方の端を閉塞する第1の部材と、
高分子または金属よりなると共に、前記中空筒状管の他方の端を閉塞する第2の部材とを備えてなり、
内部の空隙には熱分解によりガスを発生する物質を含んでいることを特徴とする、電気化学素子用の構造体。 - 前記電気化学素子用の構造体を使用する素子の正常作動温度よりも高温または4.3V以上の電圧下で、前記第1の部材と第2の部材の少なくとも一方が溶融することを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の電気化学素子用の構造体。
- 前記熱分解によりガスを発生する物質が、パーオキシド系の化合物、カーボネート系の化合物、アゾ系の化合物、ヒドラジド系の化合物及びカルバジド系の化合物よりなる群から選ばれるいずれか1種以上であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の電気化学素子用の構造体。
- 前記第1の部材を構成する高分子及び前記第2の部材を構成する高分子が、それぞれ独立して、シリコン樹脂、アクリル樹脂、ウレタン樹脂、エポキシ樹脂、ゴム、ポリエチレン、ポリプロピレン、ポリブテン、ポリアセトアルデヒド、ポリホルムアルデヒド、ポリプロピレンオキシド、ポリメチルメタクリレート、ポリビニリデンクロリド、ポリビニールフルオリド及びポリビニリデンフルオリドよりなる群から選ばれるいずれか1種以上であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の電気化学素子用の構造体。

- 前記熱分解によりガスを発生する物質が、パーオキシド系の化合物、カーボネート系の化合物、アゾ系の化合物、ヒドラジド系の化合物及びカルバジド系の化合物よりなる群から選ばれるいずれか1種以上であることを特徴とする、請求項6に記載の電気化学素子用の構造体。
- 前記2以上の中空筒状管を接続する高分子が、シリコン樹脂、アクリル樹脂、ウレタン樹脂、エポキシ樹脂、ゴム、ポリエチレン、ポリプロピレン、ポリブテン、ポリアセトアルデヒド、ポリホルムアルデヒド、ポリプロピレンオキシド、ポリメチルメタクリレート、ポリビニリデンクロリド、ポリビニールフルオリド及びポリビニリデンフルオリドよりなる群から選ばれるいずれか1種以上であることを特徴とする、請求項6に記載の電気化学素子用の構造体。
- 前記中空筒状管、第3の部材、及び第4の部材が、それぞれ独立して、高分子または金属よりなることを特徴とする、請求項6に記載の電気化学素子用の構造体。
- 電気化学素子用の構造体であって、
表面に1以上の開口部を有すると共に、両端が閉塞された中空筒状管と、
前記開口部を閉塞する高分子部材を備えてなり、
内部の空隙には熱分解によりガスを発生する物質を含んでいることを特徴とする、電気化学素子用の構造体。 - 前記電気化学素子用の構造体を使用する素子の正常作動温度よりも高温または4.3V以上の電圧下で、前記高分子部材が溶融することを特徴とする、請求項11に記載の電気化学素子用の構造体。
- 前記熱分解によりガスを発生する物質が、パーオキシド系の化合物、カーボネート系の化合物、アゾ系の化合物、ヒドラジド系の化合物及びカルバジド系の化合物よりなる群から選ばれるいずれか1種以上であることを特徴とする、請求項11に記載の電気化学素子用の構造体。
- 前記高分子部材が、シリコン樹脂、アクリル樹脂、ウレタン樹脂、エポキシ樹脂、ゴム、ポリエチレン、ポリプロピレン、ポリブテン、ポリアセトアルデヒド、ポリホルムアルデヒド、ポリプロピレンオキシド、ポリメチルメタクリレート、ポリビニリデンクロリド、ポリビニールフルオリド及びポリビニリデンフルオリドよりなる群から選ばれるいずれか1種以上であることを特徴とする、請求項11に記載の電気化学素子用の構造体。
- 前記中空筒状管が、高分子または金属よりなることを特徴とする、請求項11に記載の電気化学素子用の構造体。
- 正極と、負極と、セパレーターと、電解液と、素子ケースと、及び電気化学素子用の構造体を備えてなる電気化学素子であって、
前記電気化学素子用の構造体が、
(i)中空筒状管と、高分子よりなると共に、前記中空筒状管の一方の端を閉塞する第1の部材と、高分子または金属よりなると共に、前記中空筒状管の他方の端を閉塞する第2の部材とを備えてなり、
内部の空隙には熱分解によりガスを発生する物質を含んでいることを特徴とする請求項1〜5のいずれか1つに記載の電気化学素子用の構造体、
(ii)2以上の中空筒状管が高分子により上下に接続された管と、前記上下に接続された管の一方の端を閉塞する第3の部材と、前記上下に接続された管の他方の端を閉塞する第4の部材とを備えてなり、
内部の空隙には熱分解によりガスを発生する物質を含んでいることを特徴とする 請求項6〜10のいずれか1つに記載の電気化学素子用の構造体、
(iii)表面に1以上の開口部を有すると共に、両端が閉塞された中空筒状管と、前記開口部を閉塞する高分子部材とを備えてなり、
内部の空隙には熱分解によりガスを発生する物質を含んでいることを特徴とする 請求項11〜15のいずれか1つに記載の電気化学素子用の構造体、の3タイプから選ばれるものである、電気化学素子。 - 前記電気化学素子が、二次電池であることを特徴とする、請求項16に記載の電気化学素子。
- 前記電気化学素子用の構造体が、素子内の空隙や電解液中に含まれるか、あるいは、センターピンとして含まれることを特徴とする、請求項16に記載の電気化学素子。
- 前記電気化学素子の正常作動温度よりも高温または4.3V以上の電圧下で、前記電気化学素子用の構造体の内部の空隙に含まれていた物質が、前記構造体の外部に放出されてから熱分解してガスを発生するか、あるいは、熱分解によりガスを発生してから前記構造体の外部に放出されることを特徴とする、請求項16に記載の電気化学素子。
- 前記電気化学素子が、
(a)素子内部の圧力変化を感知して素子の充電を止めるか、あるいは、充電状態から放電状態へと切り替える第1の安全手段と、
(b)素子内部の圧力変化を感知して素子内部の熱またはガスを発散させる第2の安全手段の少なくとも一方をさらに備えてなり、
前記電気化学素子の正常作動温度よりも高温または4.3V以上の電圧下で、前記電気化学素子用の構造体の内部の空隙に含まれていた物質が、前記構造体の外部に放出されてから熱分解してガスを発生するか、あるいは、熱分解によりガスを発生してから前記構造体の外部に放出され、
前記構造体の外部において発生したガスまたは前記構造体の外部に放出されたガスにより増加した素子内部の圧力変化を感知して前記第1の安全手段と第2の安全手段の少なくとも一方が作動することを特徴とする、請求項16に記載の電気化学素子。
