Abstract
【解決手段】 導光板4と、フレキシブル基板3上に設置され導光板4の端部に向けて光を出射する光源(発光ダイオード2)とを有し、光源から出射された光が導光板4の光出射面から平面光として出射されるバックライトユニットである。導光板4の発光ダイオード2と対向する第1の辺(長辺4A)とは直交する第2の辺(短辺4B)に沿って発光ダイオード2と接続される接続用フレキシブル基板10が引き出され、導光板4の短辺4Bにおいて、導光板4の側面の少なくとも接続用フレキシブル基板10と対向する部分が、第1の辺(長辺4A)と直交する方向に対して斜めに傾斜する傾斜面4bとされている。

Claims (4)
- 四角平板状の導光板と、フレキシブル基板上に設置され前記導光板の側面に向けて光を出射する光源とを有し、前記光源から出射された光が導光板の光出射面から平面光として出射されるバックライトユニットであって、
前記導光板の光源と対向する第1の辺とは略直交する一方の第2の辺に沿って前記光源と接続される接続用フレキシブル基板が引き出され、
前記導光板の第2の辺において、導光板の側面の少なくとも前記接続用フレキシブル基板と対向する部分が、第1の辺と直交する方向に対して斜めに傾斜する傾斜面とされていることを特徴とするバックライトユニット。 - 前記導光板は、外周を支持するフレーム内に収容され、前記傾斜面が形成された第2の辺とは反対側の第3の辺において、その中心よりも前記第1の辺とは反対側の位置で弾性部材により前記第2の辺側に付勢するように押圧支持されていることを特徴とする請求項1記載のバックライトユニット。
- 前記導光板の第2の辺に対応する側面には、少なくとも前記弾性部材と対向する位置において前記傾斜面に連接する平坦面とされていることを特徴とする請求項2記載のバックライトユニット。
- 請求項1から3のいずれか1項記載のバックライトユニットを備え、当該バックライトユニット上に液晶表示パネルが載置され、前記導光板の第2の辺に形成される傾斜面の第1の辺側の終端位置が、前記液晶表示パネルの表示エリア外となるようにされていることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。
