Abstract

Description
本発明の分野は、近視、遠視、乱視および老眼を矯正するために角膜の曲率を修正して、角膜の屈折力を変化させるために角膜に移植されるように設計された補綴用インプラントに関し、さらには、微多孔性のヒドロゲル材料から形成されるそのようなインプラントに関する。
(背景技術)
眼の形状異常が視覚異常の原因であり得ることはよく知られている。正常な視覚は、角膜、レンズおよび眼の他の部分を通過して、それらによって屈折された光が網膜または網膜近くに収束する場合に生じる。近視(myopiaまたはnear-sightedness)は、光が網膜に達する前のある点に収束する場合に生じ、逆に、遠視(hyperopia またはfar-sightedness )は、光が網膜の後方で収束する場合に生じる。他の異常状態には、角膜の外表面が不規則な形状であり、角膜による光の屈折能を変化させる乱視が含まれる。さらに、高齢の患者においては、レンズの弾性が失われることから生じる天然レンズの順応力が損なわれた老眼と呼ばれる状態が生じる。老眼は、典型的には45才を越えると著しくなる。
本発明は、角膜の屈折率と実質的に同様の屈折率を有する生体適合性で透過性の微多孔性ヒドロゲルから形成される角膜インプラントに関する。このデバイスは、ボーマン膜の張力を和らげるために角膜内に作製された(角膜弁などの)層状切開部の下部に置かれた場合、角膜の外表面を変化させて、眼の屈折異常を矯正する。そのようなデバイスの圧力およびその後の移植を軽減することにより、現在の角膜手術において典型的に生じている弱点が除かれ、従って、インプラントが押出されるという患者に対する危険性が低下する。
図面の図1を最初に参照すると、角膜を表す前方の膨らんだ球状部12を有する球に類似する眼球10の概略図が示されている。眼10は、光に感じる網膜14に達する前に光が通過しなければならない様々な透明な媒体を包む3つの同心的な被覆から構成されている。

Claims (16)
- a)角膜組織の屈折率と実質的に同じ屈折率を有する光学的に透明な生体適合性材料から形成された本体;
b)非中空であって、相互に90°で向き合う「x」および「y」軸で形成された前記本体;乱視矯正に有効な、一方の軸上よりも他方の軸上の方が大きいジオプター度数;
c)移植中にインプラントの方向を助力するマーカーをさらに含む本体を含有してなる角膜インプラント。 - 前記本体が一般的に円形の形状である請求項1に記載のインプラント。
- 前記本体が一般的に楕円の形状である請求項1に記載のインプラント。
- 前記マーカーが同軸に沿って前記インプラントの反対側の本体上に一対のつまみを形成したものを含む請求項1に記載のインプラント。
- 前記マーカーが同軸に沿って前記インプラントの反対側の本体内に一対のくぼみを形成したものを含む請求項1に記載のインプラント。
- 前記マーカーがインクを含むいかなる視覚的なマーカーでもありうる請求項1に記載のインプラント。
- a)内表面と外表面とを有し、角膜組織の屈折率と実質的に同じ屈折率を有する光学的に透明な生体適合性材料から形成された本体;
b)非中空であって、老眼矯正用に中央部で前記本体のジオプター度数を増加させるため外表面上に中央の度数付加部を有して形成された本体、前記中央の度数付加部は、約1mm〜約3.5mmの直径を有する;
c)前記中央の度数付加部から前記本体に向かって相対的に急な度数の変化を提供するために、前記本体の外表面から相対的に急勾配の移行部を有する前記中央の度数付加部
を含有してなる角膜インプラント。 - 前記移行部が前記中央の度数付加部の周囲約0.05mm〜約0.2mm間にある請求項7に記載のインプラント。
- 前記本体が遠視を矯正するための形状を有する請求項7に記載の角膜インプラント。
- 前記本体が近視を矯正するための形状を有する請求項7に記載の角膜インプラント。
- 前記本体が乱視を矯正するための形状を有する請求項7に記載の角膜インプラント。
- a)内表面と外表面とを有し、角膜組織の屈折率と実質的に同じ屈折率を有する光学的に透明な生体適合性材料から形成された本体;
b)非中空であって、栄養分輸送用の不規則な通路を有する微多孔性ヒドロゲルで形成された前記本体;
を含有してなる角膜インプラント。 - 前記本体が遠視を矯正するように形成されている請求項12に記載の角膜インプラント。
- 前記本体が近視を矯正するように形成されている請求項12に記載の角膜インプラント。
- 前記インプラントが乱視を矯正するように形成されている請求項12に記載の角膜インプラント。
