Abstract
【解決手段】液晶表示装置は、第1基板、画素電極、第2基板、共通電極、及び配向膜を含み、第1基板は複数の画素領域が定義され、薄膜トランジスタを含み、画素電極は薄膜トランジスタの上に形成され、第2基板は第1基板に対応しており、共通電極は第2基板上に形成され、配向膜は画素電極と共通電極のうち、少なくとも1つの上に形成された絶縁層と光配向膜を含み、これによって、光配向膜を薄く形成することができるため、DC成分の蓄積を防ぐことができる。

Claims (10)
- 複数の画素領域が定義され、薄膜トランジスタを含む第1基板と、
前記薄膜トランジスタ上に形成された画素電極と、
前記第1基板に対応する第2基板と、
前記第2基板上に形成された共通電極と、
前記画素電極と共通電極のうち、少なくとも1つの上に形成された絶縁層及び光配向層を含む配向膜と、
を含む液晶表示装置。 - 前記光配向層の厚さは前記絶縁層の厚さより薄いことを特徴とする請求項1記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記光配向層は前記絶縁層に接触したベース層と前記ベース層から突出するように形成された光反応器を含み、各画素領域は別の方向へ突出するように形成された光反応器によって多数の領域に分割されることを特徴とする請求項2記載の液晶表示装置。
- 複数の画素領域が定義され、薄膜トランジスタと前記薄膜トランジスタ上に形成された画素電極を含む第1基板を製造する段階と、
前記第1基板の前記画素電極と対向する共通電極を含む第2基板を製造する段階と、
前記画素電極と共通電極のうち、少なくとも1つの上に、絶縁層と光配向層を含む配向膜を形成する段階と、
を含む液晶表示装置の製造方法。 - 前記光配向層の厚さは前記絶縁層の厚さより薄いことを特徴とする請求項4記載の液晶表示装置の製造方法。
- 前記配向膜を形成する段階は、
前記電極が形成された基板上に絶縁層を形成する段階と、
前記絶縁層が形成された基板上に光配向層を形成する段階と、
前記光配向層に光を照射してベース層と前記ベース層から突出するように光反応器を形成する段階と、
を含む請求項4記載の液晶表示装置の製造方法。 - 前記第1基板を製造する段階は、
前記第1基板上にゲート配線及びゲート電極を含むゲート金属パターンを形成する段階と、
前記ゲート金属パターンが形成された第1基板上にゲート絶縁層を形成する段階と、
前記ゲート絶縁層が形成された第1基板上に前記ゲート配線と交差するデータ配線、前記データ配線と接続されたソース電極及び前記ソース電極と離間するドレイン電極を含むソート金属パターンを形成する段階と、
前記ソース金属パターンが形成された第1基板上に保護絶縁層を形成する段階と、
をさらに含む請求項6記載の液晶表示装置の製造方法。 - 前記第2基板を製造する段階は前記第2基板にカラーフィルターを形成する段階をさらに含む請求項6記載の液晶表示装置の製造方法。
- 前記光反応器を形成する段階は、
前記画素領域を多数の領域に区画し、前記光を前記画素領域の前記多数の領域に対応して他の方向に照射して他の方向を有する光反応器を形成することを特徴とする請求項6〜請求項8のうち、何れかの1項記載の液晶表示装置の製造方法。 - 光配向層は高分子物質からなり、前記高分子物質はポリイミド(Polyimide)、ポリアミド酸(Polyamic acid)、ポリノルボルネンフェニルマレイミド(Polynorbornene phenyl maleimide)共重合体、ポリビニルケイ皮酸エステル(Polyvinyl cinnamate)、ポリアゾベンゼン(Polyazobenzene)、ポリエチレンイミン(Polyethyleneimine)、ポリビニルアルコール(Polyvinyl alcohol)、ポリアミド(Polyamide)、ポリエチレン(Polyethylene)、ポリスチレン(Polystylene)、ポリフェニレンフタルアミド(Polyphenylene phthalamide)、ポリエステル(Polyester)、ポリウレタン(Polyurethane)、ポリメチルメタクリレート(Polymethyl methacrylate)など含むことを特徴とする請求項4記載の液晶表示装置の製造方法。
