Abstract
【解決手段】液晶層LCが充填された一対の基板のうちの一方に画素電極19-1が配列された表示装置1aにおいて、画素電極19-1は、平行に配列された複数の電極部19aを備えている。各電極部19aは、延設方向の略中央部で屈曲させた平面形状を有する。そして特に、各画素電極19-1は、各電極部19aを屈曲させた部分において各電極部19aを接続する中央連結部19bと、各電極部19aを端部で接続する端部連結部19cとを備え、さらには電極部10aの配列から突出する状態に端部連結部1cを延設させた突出部19dを備えている。

図1は第1実施形態の表示装置の構成を説明する3画素分の駆動基板側の平面模式図であり、図2は、図1におけるA−A’断面に対応する断面図である。尚、平面模式図においては、絶縁膜や配向膜等の図示を省略している。
図4は第2実施形態の表示装置の構成を説明する3画素分の駆動基板側の平面模式図であり、図5は図4における画素電極の拡大図である。
図6は第3実施形態の表示装置の構成を説明する3画素分の駆動基板側の平面模式図であり、図7は図6における画素電極の拡大図である。
図10は第4実施形態の表示装置の構成を説明する3画素分の駆動基板側の平面模式図であり、図11は図10における画素電極の拡大図である。
図12は第5実施形態の表示装置の構成を説明する3画素分の駆動基板側の平面模式図である。
以上説明した本発明に係る表示装置は、図14〜図18に示す様々な電子機器、例えば、デジタルカメラ、ノート型パーソナルコンピュータ、携帯電話等の携帯端末装置、ビデオカメラなど、電子機器に入力された映像信号、若しくは、電子機器内で生成した映像信号を、画像若しくは映像として表示するあらゆる分野の電子機器の表示装置に適用することが可能である。以下に、本発明が適用される電子機器の一例について説明する。
Claims (12)
- 平行に配列された複数の電極部を備え、当該各電極部が延設方向の略中央部で屈曲する平面形状を有すると共に、当該屈曲部分において当該各電極部を接続する中央連結部、当該各電極部を端部で接続する端部連結部、および前記電極部の配列から突出する状態に前記端部連結部を延設させた突出部を備えた画素電極と、
前記画素電極が配列された基板と、
前記基板における前記画素電極の形成面側に配置された対向基板と、
前記基板と対向基板との間に充填封止された液晶層とを備えた
表示装置。 - 前記突出部は、前記画素電極を構成する前記電極部の屈曲方向の内角側にのみ延設されている
請求項1記載の表示装置。 - 前記電極部と前記中央連結部および端部連結部とで囲まれた空間部分は、平行四辺形で構成される共に、前記画素電極を構成する前記電極部の屈曲方向の内角側でかつ前記端部連結部によって構成された内角が90°以下である
請求項1または2に記載の表示装置。 - 前記電極部と前記中央連結部および端部連結部とは、略垂直を成して接続されている
請求項1〜3のうちの1項に記載の表示装置。 - 前記電極部と前記中央連結部および端部連結部とで囲まれた空間部分は、略矩形の平面形状で構成されている
請求項1〜4のうちの1項に記載の表示装置。 - 前記電極部と前記中央連結部および端部連結部とで囲まれた空間部分は、平行四辺形で構成される共に、前記画素電極を構成する前記電極部の屈曲方向の内角側でかつ前記端部連結部によって構成された内角が90°よりも小さい鋭角である
請求項1〜3のうちの1項に記載の表示装置。 - 前記電極部と前記中央連結部および端部連結部とで囲まれた空間部分は、全ての内角が鈍角で構成された平面形状を有している
請求項1または2に記載の表示装置。 - 前記空間部分の平面形状は、六角形で構成されている
請求項7に記載の表示装置。 - 前記中央連結部に重ねて遮光パターンが設けられている
請求項1〜8のうちの1項に記載の表示装置。 - 前記画素電極が設けられた基板上に当該画素電極と絶縁状態で設けられた共通電極を備えた
請求項1〜9のうちの1項に記載の表示装置。 - 前記画素電極は、前記共通電極の前記液晶層側に絶縁膜を介して積層されている
請求項10記載の表示装置。 - 前記画素電極が配列形成された表示領域に、センサー部が設けられている
請求項1〜11のうちの1項に記載の表示装置。
