Abstract
Description
本特許出願は、米国特許出願第11/497,274号(2006年6月30日出願)に対する優先権を主張し、該特許出願は、本明細書において参考として援用される。
本発明は、流体を移送することに関し、より具体的には、微粒子を含む流体を移送することに関する。
Claims (41)
- 1つ以上の微粒子を含む流体を運ぶための流体路と、
該流体路に沿って配置される継手であって、該継手近傍の該流体路は、実質的に力の場と整合される、継手と、
を備える、器具。 - 前記継手は、ルアーフィッティングを含む、請求項1に記載の器具。
- 前記流体路は、放射性微粒子源を含む、請求項1に記載の器具。
- 前記流体路は、カテーテルを含む、請求項3に記載の器具。
- 前記器具は、癌治療法に含まれる、請求項1に記載の器具。
- 前記1つ以上の微粒子は、約1.5超の比重を有する、請求項1に記載の器具。
- 前記継手は、カテーテルに含まれる、請求項1に記載の器具。
- 前記力の場は方向を有し、前記継手近傍の前記流体路は、前記力の場に対して約プラスマイナス35度に保持される、請求項7に記載の器具。
- 前記力の場は方向を有し、前記継手近傍の前記流体路は、前記力の場に対して約プラスマイナス45度に保持される、請求項7に記載の器具。
- 1つ以上の微粒子を含む流体を運ぶための流体路と、
該流体路内に配置される継手と、
該継手近傍に位置する停滞領域を通過して該流体を動かすために、該流体路内に配置されるノズルと、
を備える、器具。 - 前記ノズルは、サイドポートを含む、請求項10に記載の器具。
- 前記ノズルは、入力ポート断面積を有する入力ポートと、出力ポート断面積を有する出力ポートとを含み、該入力ポート断面積は、該出力ポート断面積よりも大きい、請求項11に記載の器具。
- 前記ノズルは、前記入力ポートから前記出力ポートへの、テーパを有するノズル流体路を含む、請求項12に記載の器具。
- 前記テーパは、約45度未満の傾斜を有する、請求項10に記載の器具。
- 前記ノズルは、前記継手と実質的に中心を一致させ、かつ逆流を実質的に防止するためにシールを形成するようにサイズ設定された、フランジフィッティングを含む、請求項10に記載の器具。
- 前記継手は、前記シールを含む、請求項15に記載の器具。
- 前記シールは、ゴム状シールを含む、請求項15に記載の器具。
- 前記シールは、平面シールを形成するフランジを含む、請求項15に記載の器具。
- 前記継手は、テーパフィッティングを含む、請求項10に記載の器具。
- 前記器具は、癌治療法に含まれる、請求項10に記載の器具。
- 1つ以上の微粒子を含む流体を、継手を含む流体路に導入するステップと、
該継手の近傍の該流体路を、力の場と整合させるステップと、
を包含する、方法。 - 前記継手の近傍の前記流体路を前記力の場と整合させるステップは、該継手の近傍の該流体路を重力場と整合させるステップを包含する、請求項21に記載の方法。
- 癌患者を前記流体路に導入するステップをさらに包含する、請求項22に記載の方法。
- 1つ以上の微粒子を含む前記流体を、前記継手を含む前記流体路に導入するステップは、放射性微粒子スラリーを圧力下で前記流体路に導入するステップを含む、請求項23に記載の方法。
- 約20ミリリットルと約80ミリリットルとの間の体積を有するフラッシング流体を導入するステップをさらに包含する、請求項21に記載の方法。
- 近位端と遠位端とを含む継手と、
該継手の該近位端から該継手の該遠位端へと、高密度微粒子源の少なくとも約90%を送達するための、該継手を含む低流速の流体路と、
を備える、器具。 - 前記継手は、カテーテルを備える、請求項26に記載の器具。
- 前記低流速は、約0.05ミリリットル毎秒と約0.93ミリリットル毎秒との間である、請求項27に記載の器具。
- 前記高密度微粒子源は、高い比活性を有する1つ以上の高密度微粒子を含む、請求項26に記載の器具。
- 高い比活性を有する高密度微粒子源を哺乳類に連結するステップと、
高い比活性を有する該高密度微粒子を、該源で約5psigと約30psigとの間の圧力で、該哺乳類に送達するステップと、
を包含する、方法。 - 高い比活性を有する前記高密度微粒子源を前記哺乳類に連結するステップは、該源と該哺乳類との間にカテーテルを接続するステップを包含する、請求項30に記載の方法。
- 高い比活性を有する前記高密度微粒子を、前記源で約5psigと約30psigとの間の前記圧力で、前記哺乳類に送達するステップは、該源で利用可能な該高密度微粒子の約90%超を、該哺乳類に送達するステップを包含する、請求項31に記載の方法。
- 1つ以上の微粒子を対象に送達するステップと、
画像データを形成するために、該1つ以上の微粒子を撮像するステップと、
を包含する、方法。 - 前記1つ以上の微粒子を前記対象に送達するステップは、
該1つ以上の微粒子を微小血管床に送達するステップを包含する、請求項33に記載の方法。 - 前記1つ以上の微粒子を前記対象に送達するステップは、
1つ以上の放射性微粒子を該対象に送達するステップを包含する、請求項33に記載の方法。 - 前記1つ以上の微粒子を前記微小血管床に送達するステップは、
該1つ以上の微粒子をヒト肝臓内の該微小血管床に送達するステップを包含する、請求項34に記載の方法。 - 前記1つ以上の微粒子を前記微小血管床に送達するステップは、
1つ以上の放射性微粒子をヒト肝臓内の該微小血管床に送達するステップを包含する、請求項34に記載の方法。 - 1つ以上の略球状微粒子を対象に移送するステップと、
画像データを形成するために、該1つ以上の略球状微粒子を撮像するステップと、
異常状態を識別するために、該画像データを分析するステップと、
を包含する、方法。 - 前記1つ以上の略球状微粒子を対象に移送するステップは、
1つ以上の放射性微粒子を該対象に移送するステップを包含する、請求項38に記載の方法。 - 前記異常状態を識別するために前記画像データを分析するステップは、
動物の病状を識別するために、該画像データを既知の疾病を識別するデータと比較するステップを包含する、請求項38に記載の方法。 - 画像データを形成するために前記1つ以上の略球状微粒子を撮像するステップは、
磁気共鳴画像診断装置を用いて撮像するステップを包含する、請求項38に記載の方法。
