Claims (44)
- 医学的状態を有する患者を治療する神経刺激システムであって、
患者の神経構造の少なくとも標的部分に対して電気バイアス信号を発生させる刺激発生器であって、前記電気バイアス信号が、電圧の大きさ、電流の大きさ、パルス幅、パルス時間、オンタイム及びオフタイムからなる群から選択される、少なくとも1つのパラメータによって定義されるパルス化電気信号を含み、かつ前記電圧の大きさ、前記電流の大きさ、前記パルス幅、前記パルス時間、前記オンタイム及び前記オフタイムの少なくとも1つが、定義済み範囲内で変化するランダム値を含む刺激発生器と、
前記刺激発生器及び患者の神経構造に連結された少なくとも1つの電極と、
神経構造上で内因性神経信号にバイアスをかけるために、前記電気バイアス信号を前記神経構造に適用するように構成される、前記刺激発生器に操作可能に連結されたコントローラとを含むシステム。 - 前記少なくとも1つのパラメータの前記ランダム値を発生させるランダムデータ発生器を更に含む請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 前記定義済み範囲を記憶するメモリを更に含む請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 前記神経構造は、脳神経と、交感神経と、脊髄構造と、患者の脳内の構造とを含む請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 電気バイアス信号の前記少なくとも1つのパラメータは、電圧の大きさを含み、かつ前記パルスの前記電圧の大きさは、ランダムであり、かつ−15.0ボルト〜15.0ボルトの範囲内の範囲内で変化する請求項1に記載の神経刺激システム。
- 電気バイアス信号の前記少なくとも1つのパラメータは、電流の大きさを含み、かつ前記パルスの前記電流の大きさは、ランダムであり、かつ−8.0ミリアンペア〜8.0ミリアンペアの範囲内の範囲内で変化する請求項1に記載の神経刺激システム。
- 前記パルスの前記電流の大きさは、ランダムであり、かつ−3.0ミリアンペア〜3.0ミリアンペアの範囲内の範囲内で変化する請求項6に記載の神経刺激システム。
- 電気バイアス信号の前記少なくとも1つのパラメータは、パルス幅を含み、かつ前記パルスの前記パルス幅は、ランダムであり、かつ1マイクロ秒〜1秒の範囲内の範囲内で変化する請求項1に記載の神経刺激システム。
- 電気バイアス信号の前記少なくとも1つのパラメータは、電流の大きさと、パルス幅とを含み、かつ前記電流の大きさは、第1の定義済み範囲内で変化するランダム値を含み、かつ前記パルス幅は、第2の定義済み範囲内で変化するランダム値を含む請求項1に記載の神経刺激システム。
- 電気バイアス信号の前記少なくとも1つのパラメータは、パルス時間を含み、かつ前記パルスの前記パルス時間は、ランダムであり、かつ1マイクロ秒〜1秒の範囲内の範囲内で変化する請求項1に記載の神経刺激システム。
- 電気バイアス信号の前記少なくとも1つのパラメータは、オンタイムを含み、かつ前記オンタイムは、ランダムであり、かつ1秒〜24時間の範囲内の範囲内で変化する請求項1に記載の神経刺激システム。
- 電気バイアス信号の前記少なくとも1つのパラメータは、オフタイムを含み、かつ前記オフタイムは、ランダムであり、かつ1秒〜24時間の範囲内の範囲内で変化する請求項1に記載の神経刺激システム。
- 前記神経構造上で内因性神経信号を検出するセンサを更に含む請求項1に記載の神経刺激システム。
- 前記検出された内因性神経信号を内因性神経活動の閾値と比較する信号分析ユニットを更に含み、
前記コントローラが、前記信号分析ユニットに応答して前記電気バイアス信号を前記神経構造に適用する交換網を更に含む請求項13に記載の神経刺激システム。 - 前記コントローラは、前記比較ステップに応答して前記少なくとも1つのパラメータの少なくとも1つを調整する刺激選択ユニットを更に含む請求項14に記載の神経刺激システム。
- 前記少なくとも1つのパラメータの前記定義済み範囲は、上限及び下限を含み、かつ前記上限及び前記下限の少なくとも一方は、患者の疼痛閾値に基づき定義される請求項1に記載の神経刺激システム。
- 前記電気バイアス信号は、パルス化ノイズ信号を含む請求項1に記載の神経刺激システム。
- 前記少なくとも1つの電極は、その直接刺激のために前記神経構造と接触する電極対を含む請求項1に記載の神経刺激システム。
- 通信インタフェースと、前記通信インタフェースと通信するプログラミングユニットとを更に含み、前記プログラミングユニットが、前記電気バイアス信号を定義する前記少なくとも1つのパラメータをプログラムすることが可能である請求項1に記載の神経刺激システム。
- 前記パルス化電気信号は、前記電圧の大きさ、前記電流の大きさ、前記パルス幅、前記パルス時間、前記オンタイム及び前記オフタイムの少なくとも1つが、定義済み範囲内で変化するランダム値を含む第1時間間隔と、前記第1時間間隔においてランダム値を含む前記少なくとも1つのパラメータが非ランダム値を含む第2時間間隔とを更に含む請求項1に記載の神経刺激システム。
- 前記ランダム値は、パルス毎に定義済み範囲内で変化する請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記ランダム値は、バースト毎に定義済み範囲内で変化する請求項1に記載の方法。
- 電気刺激治療を患者に提供する神経刺激器であって、
患者の神経構造内の内因性神経信号に対して電気バイアス信号を発生させる刺激発生器であって、前記電気バイアス信号が、電流の大きさ、パルス幅、及びパルス時間を少なくとも含む複数のパラメータによって定義されるパルス化電気信号を含み、前記パルス時間が、定義済み範囲内で変化するランダム値を含む刺激発生器と、
前記刺激発生器及び前記神経構造に連結された少なくとも1つの電極と、
前記刺激発生器に連結され、かつ前記電気バイアス信号を患者の前記神経構造に適用するように構成されるコントローラとを含む神経刺激器。 - 前記神経構造は、脳神経と、交感神経と、脊髄構造と、患者の脳内の構造とを含む請求項23に記載の神経刺激器。
- 前記電流の大きさは、一定の大きさを含む請求項23に記載の神経刺激器。
- 前記電流の大きさは、定義済み範囲内で変化するランダム値を含む請求項23に記載の神経刺激器。
- 前記パルス幅は、定義済み範囲内で変化するランダム値を含む請求項23に記載の神経刺激器。
- 前記電気バイアス信号は、連続電気信号を含む請求項23に記載の神経刺激器。
- 前記パルス化電気信号を定義する前記複数のパラメータは、オンタイム及びオフタイムを更に含み、かつ前記オンタイム及び前記オフタイムは、ランダム値又は非ランダム値を含むことができる請求項23に記載の神経刺激器。
- 前記神経構造上で前記内因性神経信号を検出するセンサを更に含む請求項23に記載の神経刺激器。
- 前記検出された内因性神経信号を内因性神経活動の閾値と比較する信号分析ユニットを更に含み、
前記コントローラが、前記信号分析ユニットに応答して前記電気バイアス信号を前記神経構造に適用する交換網を更に含む請求項30に記載の神経刺激システム。 - 前記パルス化電気信号を定義する前記複数のパラメータは、オンタイム及びオフタイムを更に含み、かつ前記オンタイム及び前記オフタイムは、定義済み範囲内のランダム値、又は非ランダム値を含むことができ、かつ前記コントローラは、前記信号分析ユニットに応答して前記オンタイム又は前記オフタイムの一方の前記非ランダム値、又は前記定義済み範囲の少なくとも一方を調整する刺激選択ユニットを更に含む請求項31に記載の神経刺激システム。
- 電気刺激治療を患者に提供する神経刺激器であって、
患者の神経構造内の内因性神経信号に対して電気バイアス信号を発生させる刺激発生器であって、前記電気バイアス信号が、一定の電流の大きさ、一定パルス幅、オンタイム及びオフタイムを含む複数のパラメータによって定義されるパルス化電気信号を含み、前記オンタイム及び前記オフタイムの少なくとも一方が、定義済み範囲内で変化するランダム値を含む刺激発生器と、
前記刺激発生器及び前記神経構造に連結された少なくとも1つの電極と、
前記刺激発生器に連結され、かつ前記電気バイアス信号を患者の前記神経構造に適用するように構成されるコントローラとを含む神経刺激器。 - 前記オンタイムは、第1の定義済み範囲内で変化するランダム値を含み、かつ前記オフタイムは、第2の定義済み範囲内で変化するランダム値を含む請求項30に記載の神経刺激器。
- 前記パルス化電気信号を定義する前記複数のパラメータは、非ランダム周波数、定義済み周波数範囲内のランダム周波数、又は定義済み範囲内の掃引周波数からなる群から選択される周波数を更に含む請求項30に記載の神経刺激器。
- 前記パルス化電気信号を定義する前記複数のパラメータは、一定パルス時間、及び定義済み範囲内で変化するランダムパルス時間からなる群から選択されるパルス時間を更に含む請求項30に記載の神経刺激器。
- 電気刺激治療を患者に提供する神経刺激器であって、
患者の神経構造内の内因性神経信号に対して電気バイアス信号を発生させる刺激発生器であって、前記電気バイアス信号が、電流の大きさ、並びにオンタイム及びオフタイムの少なくとも一方を含む複数のパラメータによって定義される電気信号を含み、前記電流の大きさ、前記オンタイム及び前記オフタイムの少なくとも1つが、定義済み範囲内で変化するランダム値を含む刺激発生器と、
前記刺激発生器及び前記神経構造に連結された少なくとも1つの電極と、
前記刺激発生器に連結され、かつ前記電気バイアス信号を患者の前記神経構造に適用するように構成されるコントローラとを含む神経刺激器。 - 前記電気信号は、非パルス化電気信号を含む請求項37に記載の神経刺激器。
- 前記電気信号は、電荷平衡電気信号を含む請求項37に記載の神経刺激器。
- 前記電気バイアス信号は、−8.0〜8.0ミリアンペアの範囲内の範囲内で変化するランダムな電流の大きさを有するノイズ信号を含む請求項37に記載の神経刺激器。
- 前記オンタイムは、ランダムであり、かつ1秒〜24時間の範囲内の範囲内で変化し、かつ前記オフタイムは、ランダムであり、かつ1秒〜24時間の範囲内の範囲内で変化する請求項37に記載の神経刺激器。
- 電気刺激治療を患者に提供する神経刺激器であって、
患者の神経構造内の内因性神経信号に対して電気バイアス信号を発生させる刺激発生器であって、前記電気バイアス信号が、少なくとも電流の大きさによって定義される非パルス化連続電気信号を含み、前記電流の大きさが、ランダムであり、かつ−8.0〜8.0ミリアンペアの範囲内の範囲内で変化する刺激発生器と、
前記刺激発生器及び前記神経構造に連結された少なくとも1つの電極と、
前記刺激発生器に連結され、かつ前記電気バイアス信号を患者の前記神経構造に適用するように構成されるコントローラとを含む神経刺激器。 - 電気刺激治療を患者に提供する神経刺激器であって、
脳神経、脳構造、脊髄構造、及び交感神経構造からなる群から選択された、神経構造内で内因性神経信号にバイアスをかける電気ノイズ信号を含む電気バイアス信号を発生させる刺激発生器と、
前記刺激発生器及び前記神経構造に連結された少なくとも1つの電極と、
前記刺激発生器に連結され、かつ前記電気バイアス信号を患者の前記神経構造に適用するように構成されるコントローラとを含む神経刺激器。 - 前記電気ノイズ信号は、ゼロ平均、擬似ランダム、又はガウスノイズ信号からなる群から選択されるノイズ信号を含む請求項43に記載の神経刺激器。
