Abstract
【解決手段】ステンレス鋼からなる電極本体10内に注入する電解液26として、0.05〜1mol/Lの塩化カリウムと、腐食抑制剤とを含有するものを用い、電極本体内面の電解液に接液する部分の1ヶ月後におけるステンレス鋼の腐食はなかった。また、電解液を使用したポーラログラフ式隔膜型溶存酸素電極は、応答性が良好で、かつ蒸気滅菌を20回行っても異常なく動作し、耐久性が良好である。

上記反応における平衡起電力は小さいので、外部から0.6〜0.7V程度の一定電圧を印加する。
(a)ポーラログラフ式溶存酸素電極では、反応式(2)のように、アノードで銀イオンと塩化物イオンとの反応を生じさせるため、電解液として一般的にKCl溶液が使用される。一方、発酵工業における測定で使用されるポーラログラフ式溶存酸素電極は、120℃以上での蒸気滅菌が可能なように、電極本体の材質としてステンレス鋼が使用される。そのため、Cl−イオンによって電極本体のステンレス鋼に腐食(孔食)が生じる。
(b)上記腐食を防ぐため、電解液として前述したpH13以上のアルカリ性溶液を使用する場合は、人体に危険が生じる。
(c)上記腐食を防ぐため、電極本体の内面にフッ素樹脂等の耐熱性樹脂を被覆する場合は、コストが増大する。

Claims (5)
- 0.05〜1mol/Lの塩化カリウムと、腐食抑制剤とを含有することを特徴とするポーラログラフ式隔膜型電極用電解液。
- 腐食抑制剤は、クエン酸ナトリウム、クエン酸カリウム、安息香酸ナトリウム、タングステン酸ナトリウム、モリブデン酸ナトリウム、リン酸ナトリウム、ケイ酸ナトリウム、ホウ酸ナトリウムおよびケイ皮酸ナトリウムから選ばれる1種または2種以上であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のポーラログラフ式隔膜型電極用電解液。
- 腐食抑制剤の濃度が0.05〜0.5mol/Lであることを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載のポーラログラフ式隔膜型電極用電解液。
- 腐食抑制剤として、0.05〜0.5mol/Lのクエン酸ナトリウム、クエン酸カリウムまたは安息香酸ナトリウムを含有することを特徴とする請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載のポーラログラフ式隔膜型電極用電解液。
- 電解液と接液する部分がステンレス鋼からなり、電解液として請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載の電解液を用いたことを特徴とするポーラログラフ式隔膜型電極。
