Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a tape end detection method and a tape supply device for detecting the end of various tapes wound around a reel such as an adhesive tape such as an ACF (anisotropic conductive material film) tape and a protective tape for a crimping tool. is there.
As a method of mounting components on a substrate such as a liquid crystal panel or a display panel represented by PDP (Plasma Display Panel), an adhesive tape such as an ACF tape is attached to the substrate, and then the support tape is peeled off to remove the ACF from the substrate. Adhesive material layer such as TCP (Tape Carrier Package), IC, thin LSI package parts, etc. are temporarily pressure-bonded on the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer, and then heat and pressure higher than those of temporary pressure bonding are applied. A method of mounting a component on a substrate by performing this pressure bonding is known. In the component mounting method, an adhesive tape attaching device for attaching an adhesive tape to a substrate is used.
As the adhesive tape application device, the adhesive tape wound around the reel is pulled out and supplied by the tape supply device, and only the adhesive material layer of the adhesive tape is cut to a predetermined length before the crimping device, and then the adhesive tape is removed. It was sent between the crimping tool and the substrate placed on the cradle, pressed the adhesive tape with the crimping tool, stuck the adhesive material layer cut to a predetermined length on the substrate, and then stuck the support tape A configuration is known in which the support tape is peeled off from the adhesive layer and the operation of supplying the next adhesive tape is repeated (for example, see Patent Document 1).
In
By the way, in recent years, in order to reduce the cost of the pressure-sensitive adhesive tape wound and supplied on a reel, a dummy tape different from the pressure-sensitive adhesive tape is used at the end of the pressure-sensitive adhesive tape as described in
However, if the end of the adhesive tape cannot be detected accurately, the reel can be replaced with a sufficient amount of remaining tape before the adhesive tape runs out, or the end of the adhesive tape can be removed so that the crimping process will not be interrupted. It is impossible to realize a highly productive crimping process by automatically connecting the new tape and the start of the adhesive tape of the new reel. Therefore, the end of the pressure-sensitive adhesive tape can be used regardless of whether the end-mark is not provided as described above, or when a reel wound with any pressure-sensitive adhesive tape that is provided but has a significantly different length is used. It has been requested to be able to detect accurately. Otherwise, the pressure-sensitive adhesive tape that can be used is limited, so that it is not versatile and the pressure-sensitive adhesive tape application device is extremely inconvenient.
However, there is no known configuration for accurately detecting the end when no end mark is provided on the adhesive tape. Even in the case where the end mark provided on the end portion of the adhesive tape is detected by a detection sensor, in recent years, a narrow width IC is often joined. There is also a problem that the tape cannot be reliably detected because the width of the tape is as narrow as about 1 mm. If the provided end mark can be detected accurately, the detection accuracy of the end position is generally high.
In view of the above-described conventional problems, the present invention provides a tape end detection method and a tape supply device capable of accurately detecting the end regardless of the length of the end mark provided at the end of the tape wound on the reel. The purpose is to provide.
The tape end detection method of the present invention is a tape end detection that detects the end regardless of the length of the end mark provided on the end of the tape and the presence or absence of the end in the tape supply device that pulls out and supplies the tape from the reel on which the tape is wound. A method of detecting the remaining amount of the tape, a step of detecting one end of the end mark until the remaining amount of the tape reaches the first predetermined remaining amount, and when detecting one end of the end mark, Thereafter, the step of detecting the other end of the end mark within the first predetermined feed time or feed amount, and when the other end of the end mark is detected, immediately or after the second predetermined feed time or feed amount When the other end of the end mark is not detected, when the end of the end mark is not detected after the third predetermined feed time or feed amount after the end of the end mark is detected After the remaining tape becomes the first predetermined remaining capacity, in which each and a step of performing a termination detection notification.
According to this configuration, when a short end mark is provided at the end portion of the tape, when one end is detected and the other end is detected, the end detection notification is immediately or after the second predetermined feed time or feed amount. If there is a terminal mark that continues to the terminal end, a terminal detection notification is made after the third predetermined feed time or feed amount after detecting one end of the terminal mark, and the terminal mark is not provided. Performs the end detection notification after the remaining amount of the tape being detected reaches the first predetermined remaining amount, so that the end can be accurately detected regardless of the length of the end mark provided at the end of the tape. You can be notified.
The step of detecting the remaining tape amount includes a step of detecting a rotation angle or a rotation time of the reel when supplying a predetermined length of tape, and a tape winding diameter of the reel is detected from the detected rotation angle or rotation time. And a step of detecting the remaining tape amount from the detected tape winding diameter, the rotation angle or the rotation time of the reel changes according to the tape winding diameter with respect to a predetermined tape supply length. From this, the tape winding diameter can be obtained by detecting the rotation angle or rotation time of the reel at the time of supplying the tape, and the tape remaining diameter can be detected by estimation or calculation from the tape winding diameter. Even if no end mark is provided on the tape, the remaining amount of the tape can be reliably detected.
Further, when the detected remaining tape amount becomes larger than the first predetermined remaining amount and / or a second predetermined remaining amount larger than the remaining amount at the arrangement position of one end of the end mark, a tape replacement advance notification is performed. In this way, prior notification is made before the end of the tape is reached, so that a reel to be replaced can be prepared in advance. Can be connected.
The tape supply device of the present invention is a tape supply device that pulls out a tape from a reel on which the tape is wound and supplies the tape, a remaining amount detecting means for detecting the remaining amount of the tape on the reel, and the end of the tape or near the end And a detection sensor for detecting the end mark, and one end of the end mark is detected until the remaining amount of the tape reaches a predetermined remaining amount. When one end of the end mark is detected, a first predetermined The other end of the end mark is detected within the feed time or feed amount, and when the other end of the end mark is detected, the other end of the end mark is detected immediately or after the second predetermined feed time or feed amount. If not, after a third predetermined feed time or feed amount after detecting one end of the end mark, if not detecting one end of the end mark, the remaining amount of the tape becomes a predetermined amount. Each those provided with the sensing control means for terminating the detection notification.
According to this configuration, the remaining amount of the tape is detected by the remaining amount detection means, one end and the other end of the end mark are detected by the detection sensor, and the tape end detection method is performed by the detection control means. As described above, it is possible to accurately detect and notify the end regardless of the length and shortness of the end mark provided at the end of the tape.
Further, the means for detecting the remaining tape amount of the reel includes a rotation amount control means for rotating the reel so that the supply length of the tape becomes a predetermined length, and a rotation angle or rotation of the reel when supplying a predetermined length of tape. It comprises a means for detecting time, a means for detecting the tape winding diameter of the reel from the detected rotation angle or rotation time, and a means for detecting the remaining tape amount from the detected tape winding diameter. Even if a terminal mark or the like is not provided at the terminal portion of the adhesive tape, the remaining amount of the tape can be reliably detected based on the tape winding diameter of the reel as described above.
In addition, when the detected remaining tape amount reaches the second predetermined remaining amount larger than the remaining amount at the end position of the end mark and / or the first predetermined remaining amount, the detection control means sets the tape in advance. If notification is made, prior notification is made before reaching the end of the tape, so that a new tape can be connected by exchanging the reels efficiently as described above.
According to the tape end detection method and the tape supply device of the present invention, the end can be accurately detected and notified regardless of the length and shortness of the end mark provided at the end of the tape. The reel can be exchanged, the end of the tape and the start of the tape on the new reel can be automatically connected, and the work process performed by supplying the tape while using any tape is interrupted It is possible to supply the tape stably without fear.
FIG. 1 to FIG. 1 show an embodiment in which the present invention is applied to an adhesive tape attaching apparatus for attaching an adhesive tape having an adhesive material layer such as an anisotropic conductive material to a substrate such as a glass substrate of a liquid crystal display panel. This will be described with reference to FIG.

In the adhesive
The
The operation of the detection control means 31 will be described with reference to FIGS. First, the tape remaining amount of the
Next, the process for obtaining the tape winding diameter of the
Next, the
Next, as shown in FIG. 8, the
The rotation of the
The tape winding diameter r is calculated by r = 360 · S / (2π · θ).
V=S/t であるから、
In the above description, an example in which the rotation angle θ of the
The tape feed speed V is V = 2 · π · r · N / 60 and
Since V = S / t,
The tape winding diameter r is calculated by r = (S / t) · 60 / (2 · π · N).
The rotation time of the
When the winding length of the
Thus, the tape winding diameter data calculated and detected by the tape winding diameter calculating means 30 is input to the detection control means 31, and the above-described tape winding diameter and the detection signal from the
When the control unit of the adhesive
In the above description of the embodiment, only an example of an ACF tape in which an ACF (anisotropic conductive material film) is provided on one side of a support tape as an adhesive tape is shown. However, the present invention is a component mounting using an ACF tape. The present invention is not limited to this, and the present invention can also be applied to a case where a non-conductive film is attached to a substrate to mount a component. Also, an adhesive tape application device that prevents adhesive material from adhering to the crimping head by crimping with a protective tape between the crimping head and the adhesive tape or between the crimping head and the component. In the crimping apparatus, the present invention can also be applied to end detection of the protective tape.
According to the tape end detection method and the tape supply device of the present invention, the end can be accurately detected and notified regardless of the length and shortness of the end mark provided at the end of the tape. The reel can be replaced, and the end of the tape can be automatically connected to the beginning of the tape on the new reel, without interrupting the process of supplying the tape while using any tape. Since the tape can be supplied, it can be suitably used for a component mounting apparatus for mounting various components by attaching an adhesive tape to a substrate.
