Abstract

Description
この開示は、一般にセラミックマトリクス複合材構造体に関し、より具体的には荷重を負担するフルート状コアを有するサンドイッチ構造体、およびその構造体を製造する方法を扱う。
セラミックマトリクス複合材(CMC)構造体は、比較的高い動作温度に耐えるそれらの能力により、しばしば、航空宇宙およびその他の用途に使用される。例えば、CMC構造体は、航空用途における高温の排ガスにさらされる構造部品を作製するために使用することができる。種々のCMCが、モノコック構造、またはタイルおよび/または発泡体サンドイッチ構造の組合せを用いる構造を作製するために用いられてきたが、これらのいずれのタイプの構造も荷重を負担するには好適ではないかもしれない。CMCモノコックの場合には、材料は、当該構造が荷重を負担するために、比較的厚くなければならないが、さらなる材料の厚さは、航空機に重さを加えることとなる。CMCタイル/発泡体サンドイッチ材料は、それらの比較的弱いコア材料故に、荷重負担用途においては、広く使用されていたわけではない。
本開示の態様は、湾曲した表面を含む種々の形状および構造体を固定具を使ってマウントさせることを可能とする、補強特性を持った構造体の作製を可能にするCMCサンドイッチ構造体を提供する。開示された態様は、構造体を強化し、かつ荷重を負担させることができる、CMCで形成されたフルート状コア(fluted core)を組入れたCMCサンドイッチを用いる。CMCフルート状コア構造体は、商業的に入手可能な材料、および多様な部品、コンポーネントおよびアセンブリ、特に航空機産業で利用されるものを製造するためのよく知られたポリマーレイアップ技術を用いて作製することができる。
(A)セラミックマトリクス複合材を用いて複数のフルートを形成する工程と、
(B)工程(A)で形成された前記フルートを、一対のセラミックマトリクス複合材表面板の間に配置する工程と、
(C)前記フルートを前記表面板に結合する工程と

まず、図1および2を参照すると、CMC構造体10は、一対の外側のCMC表面板12、14の間にサンドイッチされた、内側の荷重負担コア16を含む材料のサンドイッチから形成される。図示した例において、表面板12、14は平坦で、かつ互いに実質的に平行に延びる。しかしながら、以下で示すように、限定されないが、平行でない曲線、および曲線と直線との組合せを含むその他の形状が可能である。
Claims (17)
- 一対の相隔たるセラミックマトリクス複合材表面板と、
前記表面板の少なくとも一部の間にある荷重負担コアと
を含み、前記荷重負担コアはセラミックマトリクス複合材フルートを含む、セラミックマトリクス複合材構造体。 - 前記フルートの少なくとも一部が、セラミック発泡体で充填された、閉じたセルを含む請求項1のセラミックマトリクス複合材構造体。
- 前記セルが、セラミックファイバー補強樹脂の、圧縮された複数のプライで規定された連続壁を含む、請求項2のセラミックマトリクス複合材構造体。
- 前記表面板の各々が、セラミックファイバー補強樹脂の、圧縮された複数のプライを含む、請求項1のセラミックマトリクス複合材構造体。
- 前記フルートは隣り合った関係で配置され、かつそれらの間に空隙を規定し、
前記コアは、前記空隙を充填するフィラーストリップをさらに含む
請求項1のセラミックマトリクス複合構造体。 - 前記表面板の各々の少なくとも一部が湾曲しており、
前記フルートが前記表面板部分の曲率に適合する
請求項1のセラミックマトリクス複合材構造体。 - 前記表面板の他の部分の間に中実構造コアをさらに含む、請求項1のセラミックマトリクス複合構造体。
- 前記フルートの各々が、実質的に二等辺台形を形成する断面形状を持つ、請求項1のセラミックマトリクス複合材構造体。
- (A)セラミックマトリクス複合材を用いて複数のフルートを形成する工程と、
(B)工程(A)で形成した前記フルートを、一対のセラミックマトリクス複合材表面板の間に配置する工程と、
(C)前記フルートを前記表面板に結合する工程と
を含むセラミックマトリクス複合材構造体を作製する方法。 - 工程(A)が、
セラミックマトリクスプリプレグ布帛をツール上に巻きつけ、前記プリプレグを硬化させることを含む請求項9の方法。 - 工程(A)が、
剛直な発泡体をマンドレルに成形することによって、前記ツールを形成することをさらに含む、請求項10の方法。 - 工程(A)が、前記プリプレグを硬化させた後に前記発泡体を焼却することをさらに含む、請求項11の方法。
- 工程(A)が、
前記フルートを隣り合って嵌め合わせた関係に配置し、
前記配置されたフルートを硬化させる
ことを含む請求項9の方法。 - 隣接したフルートと前記表面板との間の空隙にフィラーを導入する工程をさらに含む請求項13の方法。
- (D)前記表面板の一部を一緒にラミネートする工程
をさらに含む請求項9の方法。 - (D)前記表面板の一部の間に中実セラミックコアを配置する工程と、
(E)前記表面板の一部を前記セラミックコアに結合する工程と
