Abstract
【解決手段】表示装置の表示素子に用いる電極層として導電性高分子を含む電極層を用い、該導電性高分子を含む電極層に含まれるイオン性不純物の濃度を低減(好ましくは100ppm以下)とする。イオン性不純物はイオン化し、可動イオンになりやすく、表示素子に用いられる液晶層や電界発光層を劣化させる。従って、このようなイオン性不純物を軽減した導電性高分子を含む電極層を具備することによって、表示装置の信頼性を向上させることができる。

Description
本実施の形態では、より高画質及び高信頼性を付与され、かつ低コストで生産性よく作製することのできることを目的とした表示装置の一例について説明する。より具体的には、表示装置の構成がパッシブマトリクス型の場合に関して示す。
本実施の形態では、より高画質及び高信頼性を付与され、かつ低コストで生産性よく作製することのできることを目的とした表示装置の一例について説明する。本実施の形態では、上記実施の形態1とは異なる構成を有する表示装置について説明する。具体的には、表示装置の構成がアクティブマトリクス型の場合に関して示す。
本実施の形態では、より高画質及び高信頼性を付与され、かつ低コストで生産性よく作製することのできることを目的とした表示装置の一例について説明する。詳しくは表示素子に液晶表示素子を用いる液晶表示装置について説明する。

本発明を適用して発光素子を有する表示装置を形成することができるが、該発光素子から発せられる光は、下面放射、上面放射、両面放射のいずれかを行う。本実施の形態では、図9を用いて下面放射型、図10を用いて上面放射型、図11を用いて両面放射型の例をそれぞれ説明する。
充填材の代わりに、窒素雰囲気下で封止することによって、窒素等を封入してもよい。充填材を通して光を表示装置外に取り出す場合、充填材も透光性を有する必要がある。充填材は、例えば可視光硬化、紫外線硬化または熱硬化のエポキシ樹脂を用いればよい。充填材は、液状の状態で滴下し、表示装置内に充填することもできる。充填材として、乾燥剤などの吸湿性を含む物質を用いる、または充填材中に吸湿物質を添加すると、さらなる吸水効果が得られ、素子の劣化を防ぐことができる。
本実施の形態では、より高画質及び高信頼性を付与され、かつ低コストで生産性よく作製することのできることを目的とした表示装置の一例について説明する。詳しくは表示素子に発光素子を用いる発光表示装置について説明する。本実施の形態では、本発明の表示装置の表示素子として適用することのできる発光素子の構成を、図16を用いて説明する。
本実施の形態では、より高画質及び高信頼性を付与され、かつ低コストで生産性よく作製することのできることを目的とした表示装置の一例について説明する。詳しくは表示素子に発光素子を用いる発光表示装置について説明する。本実施の形態では、本発明の表示装置の表示素子として適用することのできる発光素子の構成を、図14及び図15を用いて説明する。
本発明によって形成される表示装置によって、テレビジョン装置(単にテレビ、又はテレビジョン受信機ともよぶ)を完成させることができる。図19はテレビジョン装置の主要な構成を示すブロック図を示している。
本発明に係る電子機器として、テレビジョン装置(単にテレビ、又はテレビジョン受信機ともよぶ)、デジタルカメラ、デジタルビデオカメラ等のカメラ、携帯電話装置(単に携帯電話機、携帯電話ともよぶ)、PDA等の携帯情報端末、携帯型ゲーム機、コンピュータ用のモニタ、コンピュータ、カーオーディオ等の音響再生装置、家庭用ゲーム機等の記録媒体を備えた画像再生装置等が挙げられる。また、パチンコ機、スロットマシン、ピンボール機、大型ゲーム機など表示装置を有するあらゆる遊技機に適用することができる。その具体例について、図21を参照して説明する。
Claims (10)
- 一対の電極層を含む表示素子を有し、
前記一対の電極層のうち少なくとも一方は導電性高分子を含み、
前記導電性高分子を含む電極層は含まれるイオン性不純物の濃度が100ppm以下であることを特徴とする表示装置。 - 一対の電極層を含む表示素子を有し、
前記一対の電極層は導電性高分子を含み、
前記導電性高分子を含む一対の電極層は含まれるイオン性不純物の濃度が100ppm以下であることを特徴とする表示装置。 - 請求項1又は請求項2において、前記表示素子は液晶層を有し、
前記一対の電極層と前記液晶層は配向膜として機能する絶縁層を介して接することを特徴とする表示装置。 - 請求項1又は請求項2において、前記表示素子は電界発光層を有し、
前記一対の電極層と前記電界発光層は接することを特徴とする表示装置。 - 請求項1乃至4のいずれか一項において、前記イオン性不純物の陽イオンはイオン化エネルギーが6eV以下の元素であることを特徴とする表示装置。
- 請求項1乃至4のいずれか一項において、前記イオン性不純物の陽イオンはアルカリ金属、又はアルカリ土類金属であることを特徴とする表示装置。
- 請求項1乃至4のいずれか一項において、前記イオン性不純物の陰イオンは無機酸に含まれることを特徴とする表示装置。
- 請求項1乃至7のいずれか一項において、前記導電性高分子はポリチオフェン、ポリアニリン、ポリピロール、及びそれらの誘導体であることを特徴とする表示装置。
- 請求項1乃至8のいずれか一項において、前記電極層は有機樹脂を含むことを特徴とする表示装置。
- 請求項1乃至9のいずれか一項において、前記電極層はドーパントとして有機酸、及び有機シアノ化合物のうち一種又は複数種を含むことを特徴とする表示装置。
