Abstract
Description
2005年4月20日に出願された米国特許出願第11/110500号に対する優先権の利益がここに主張され、その出願が本明細書に参照により組み込まれる。
本出願は、本出願の譲受人に譲渡された同時係属の、2004年9月27日に出願された「SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DETERMINING PATIENT−SPECIFIC IMPLANTABLE MEDICAL DEVICE PROGRAMMING PARAMETERS」という表題の米国特許出願第10/950876号、および2004年5月13日に出願された「METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR QUESTION−BASED PROGRAMMING OF CARDIAC RHYTHM MANAGEMENT DEVICES」という表題の米国特許出願第10/844642号に関連しており、これらはその全体が本願明細書に参照により組み込まれる。
Claims (33)
- 埋込可能な医療機器をプログラムするように構成された外部システムを含む、心調律管理(CRM)システムであって、前記外部システムは、
前記埋込可能な医療機器と通信するように構成された外部遠隔計測回路と、
徴候に基づくプログラミング用機器とを含み、その徴候に基づくプログラミング用機器が、
前記埋込可能な医療機器の使用のための徴候を含めた患者固有の情報を受け取るための患者情報入力部と、
複数のプログラム可能なパラメータの指標となる機器タイプを含めた機器固有の情報を受け取るための機器情報入力部と、
前記患者情報入力部と前記機器情報入力部とに結合され、前記複数のプログラム可能なパラメータの動作パラメータのセットに関する値を前記患者固有の情報と前記機器固有の情報とに基づいて作り出すように構成された、徴候に基づくパラメータ発生モジュールと、
前記外部遠隔計測回路と前記徴候に基づくパラメータ発生モジュールに結合され、動作パラメータの前記セットの前記値を使用して前記埋込可能な医療機器をプログラムするように構成されたプログラミング用モジュールと
を含む、心調律管理(CRM)システム。 - 前記徴候に基づくパラメータ発生モジュールが、
前記埋込可能な医療機器の複数の利用可能な動作モードから前記患者固有の情報と前記機器固有の情報とに基づいて少なくとも1つの動作モードを選択するように構成された動作モード選択器と、
前記埋込可能な医療機器が前記選択された少なくとも1つの動作モードで動作することを可能にするパラメータの値である動作パラメータの前記セットの前記値を作り出すように構成されたパラメータ値発生器と
を含む請求項1に記載のCRMシステム。 - 前記徴候に基づくパラメータ発生モジュールが、
前記埋込可能な医療機器の複数の利用可能な動作モードからユーザ選択に基づいて少なくとも1つの動作モードを選択するように構成され、前記ユーザ選択を受け取るためのモード入力部を含む動作モード選択器と、
前記埋込可能な医療機器が前記選択された少なくとも1つの動作モードで動作することを可能にするパラメータの値である動作パラメータの前記セットの前記値を作り出すように構成されたパラメータ値発生器と
を含む請求項1に記載のCRMシステム。 - 前記徴候に基づくパラメータ発生モジュールが、前記患者固有の情報を前記機器固有の情報に関連付けるマッピング・アルゴリズムを実行するように構成されたマッピング・アルゴリズム実行モジュールを含む前記請求項のいずれかに記載のCRMシステム。
- 前記徴候に基づくプログラミング用機器に結合されたユーザ・インターフェース機器をさらに含み、前記ユーザ・インターフェース機器が、
動作パラメータの前記セットの前記値を表示するように構成されたパラメータ領域を含むディスプレイ画面と、
動作パラメータの前記セットの前記値を受領、変更、または破棄するユーザ選択を受け取るように構成された選択入力機器と
を含む前記請求項のいずれかに記載のCRMシステム。 - 前記選択入力機器が前記ディスプレイ画面上に表示された選択ボタンを含む請求項5に記載のCRMシステム。
- 前記ユーザ・インターフェース機器が、動作パラメータの前記セットに関する前記値の変更を可能にするパラメータ入力機器をさらに含む請求項5に記載のCRMシステム。
- 前記ディスプレイ画面が双方向型画面であり、前記パラメータ領域が動作パラメータの前記セットに関する前記表示された値の変更を可能にするように構成され、前記パラメータ入力機器が前記パラメータ領域の部分を含む請求項7に記載のCRMシステム。
- 前記ユーザ・インターフェースが、徴候に基づくプログラミング・モードとパラメータに基づくプログラミング・モードのうちの1つを選択するように、および前記徴候に基づくプログラミング・モードと前記パラメータに基づくプログラミング・モードを切り換えるように構成された使用者が制御できるプログラミング・モード切り換え器をさらに含む請求項5から8のいずれかに記載のCRMシステム。
- 前記患者情報入力部に結合され、前記患者固有の情報を保存するように構成された1つまたは複数の記憶機器を含む患者情報保存システムをさらに含む前記請求項のいずれかに記載のCRMシステム。
- 前記1つまたは複数の記憶機器が、前記埋込可能な医療機器の使用のための前記徴候、人口統計学的データ、心臓の病歴、電気記録図、心電図、心エコー図、体格、心疾患以外の病歴、および薬剤投薬計画のうちの1つまたは複数を保存するように各々構成される請求項10に記載のCRMシステム。
- 遠隔通信ネットワークをさらに含み、前記1つまたは複数の記憶機器のうちの少なくとも1つが前記遠隔通信ネットワークを介して前記患者情報入力部に結合される請求項10および11のいずれかに記載のCRMシステム。
- 前記機器情報入力部に結合され、複数の機器タイプに関して前記機器固有の情報を保存するように構成された機器情報保存システムをさらに含む前記請求項のいずれかに記載のCRMシステム。
- 前記埋込可能な医療機器から前記外部遠隔計測回路によって受け取られた情報に基づいて前記埋込可能な医療機器の前記機器タイプを識別するための機器識別モジュールをさらに含む前記請求項のいずれかに記載のCRMシステム。
- 前記外部システムが、
遠隔計測を介して通信できるように前記埋込可能な医療機器に結合された外部機器と、
前記外部機器に結合された遠隔通信ネットワークと、
前記遠隔通信ネットワークに結合された1つまたは複数の遠隔機器と
を含む患者管理システムを含む前記請求項のいずれかに記載のCRMシステム。 - 前記1つまたは複数の遠隔機器が、前記患者固有の情報の複数部分を保存するように構成された少なくとも1つの記憶機器を含む請求項15に記載のCRMシステム。
- 通信できるように前記外部システムに結合され、ペースメーカーや除細動器のうちの1つまたは複数を含む前記埋込可能な医療機器を含む前記請求項のいずれかに記載のCRMシステム。
- 前記埋込可能な医療機器が心臓再同期機器と心臓リモデリング機器のうちの1つまたは複数を含む請求項17に記載のCRMシステム。
- 埋込可能な医療機器をプログラムするための方法であって、
前記埋込可能な医療機器の使用のための徴候を含む患者固有の情報を収集する工程と、
1つまたは複数の利用可能な動作モードと複数のプログラム可能なパラメータの指標となる、前記埋込可能な医療機器の機器タイプを含めた機器固有の情報を受け取る工程と、
前記患者固有の情報と前記機器固有の情報とに基づいて前記複数のプログラム可能なパラメータの動作パラメータのセットに関する値を作り出すために徴候に基づくプログラミング・アルゴリズムを実行する工程と、
動作パラメータの前記セットに関する前記値を受領、変更、または破棄するユーザ選択を受け取る工程と
を含む、方法。 - 前記徴候に基づくプログラミング・アルゴリズムを実行する工程が、
前記1つまたは複数の利用可能な動作モードから少なくとも1つの動作モードを選択する工程と、
前記埋込可能な医療機器が前記選択された少なくとも1つの動作モードで動作することを可能にするパラメータの値である動作パラメータの前記セットに関する前記値を作り出す工程と
を含む請求項19に記載の方法。 - 前記徴候に基づくプログラミング・アルゴリズムを実行する工程が、
前記1つまたは複数の利用可能な動作モードのうちの少なくとも1つの動作モードのユーザ選択を受け取る工程と、
前記埋込可能な医療機器が前記使用者に選択された少なくとも1つの動作モードで動作することを可能にするパラメータの値である動作パラメータの前記セットに関する前記値を作り出す工程と
を含む請求項19に記載の方法。 - 前記徴候に基づくプログラミング・アルゴリズムを実行する工程が、前記患者固有の情報を前記埋込可能な医療機器の前記機器固有の情報に関連付けるマッピング・アルゴリズムを実行する工程を含む請求項19から21のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 動作パラメータの前記セットに関する前記値を受領するというユーザ選択が受け取られれば、動作パラメータの前記セットに関する前記値を使用して前記埋込可能な医療機器をプログラムする工程をさらに含む請求項19から22のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 動作パラメータの前記セットを変更するというユーザ選択が受け取られれば、動作パラメータの前記セットに関する1つまたは複数の変更された値を受け取る工程と、
動作パラメータの前記セットに関する前記1つまたは複数の変更された値を使用して前記埋込可能な医療機器をプログラムする工程とをさらに含む請求項19から23のいずれかに記載の方法。 - 動作パラメータの前記セットに関する前記1つまたは複数の変更された値を使用して前記埋込可能な医療機器をプログラムする前に、動作パラメータの前記セットに関する前記1つまたは複数の変更された値を1つまたは複数の所定の安全性限界に対して照合する工程をさらに含む請求項24に記載の方法。
- 前記埋込可能な医療機器をプログラムする工程が埋込可能なペースメーカーをプログラムする工程を含む請求項24および25のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 前記埋込可能な医療機器をプログラムする工程が埋込可能な除細動器をプログラムする工程を含む請求項24および25のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 前記埋込可能な医療機器をプログラムする工程が埋込可能な心臓再同期処置機器をプログラムする工程を含む請求項24および25のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 前記埋込可能な医療機器をプログラムする工程が埋込可能な心臓リモデリング制御処置機器をプログラムする工程を含む請求項24および25のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 前記患者固有の情報を収集する工程が前記埋込可能な医療機器の使用のための前記徴候、人口統計学的データ、心臓の病歴、電気記録図、心電図、心エコー図、体格、心疾患以外の病歴、薬剤投薬計画のうちの1つまたは複数を収集する工程を含む請求項19から29のいずれかに記載の方法。
