Description
2005年4月20日に出願された米国特許出願第11/110500号に対する優先権の利益がここに主張され、その出願が本明細書に参照により組み込まれる。
本出願は、本出願の譲受人に譲渡された同時係属の、2004年9月27日に出願された「SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DETERMINING PATIENT−SPECIFIC IMPLANTABLE MEDICAL DEVICE PROGRAMMING PARAMETERS」という表題の米国特許出願第10/950876号、および2004年5月13日に出願された「METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR QUESTION−BASED PROGRAMMING OF CARDIAC RHYTHM MANAGEMENT DEVICES」という表題の米国特許出願第10/844642号に関連しており、これらはその全体が本願明細書に参照により組み込まれる。
Claims (30)
- 埋込可能な医療機器をプログラムするように構成された外部システムを含む心調律管理(CRM)システムであって、
前記外部システムは、
前記埋込可能な医療機器と通信するように構成された外部遠隔計測回路と、
前記埋込可能な医療機器から前記外部遠隔計測回路によって受け取られた情報に基づいて、前記埋込可能な医療機器の前記機器タイプを識別するように構成された機器識別モジュールであって、前記機器タイプは、複数のプログラム可能なパラメータを示す、機器識別モジュールと、
徴候に基づくプログラミング用機器と
を含み、
前記徴候に基づくプログラミング用機器は、
前記埋込可能な医療機器の使用のための徴候を含む患者に特有な情報を受け取るための患者情報入力部と、
前記機器タイプを含む機器に特有な情報を受け取るための機器情報入力部と、
前記患者情報入力部と前記機器情報入力部とに結合された徴候に基づくパラメータ生成モジュールであって、前記患者に特有な情報と前記機器に特有な情報とに基づいて、前記複数のプログラム可能なパラメータの一組の動作パラメータの値を生成するように構成された徴候に基づくパラメータ生成モジュールと、
前記外部遠隔計測回路と前記徴候に基づくパラメータ生成モジュールとに結合されたプログラミング用モジュールであって、前記一組の動作パラメータの前記値を使用して前記埋込可能な医療機器をプログラムするように構成されたプログラミング用モジュールと、
前記徴候に基づくプログラミング用機器に結合されたユーザ・インターフェース機器と
を含み、
前記ユーザ・インターフェース機器は、
前記一組の動作パラメータの前記値を表示するように構成されたパラメータ領域を含むディスプレイ画面と、
前記一組の動作パラメータの前記値を受領する、変更する、または、破棄するためのユーザ選択を受け取るように構成された選択入力機器と、
前記一組の動作パラメータの前記値の変更を可能にするパラメータ入力機器と
を含む、心調律管理(CRM)システム。 - 前記徴候に基づくパラメータ生成モジュールは、
前記患者に特有な情報と前記機器に特有な情報とに基づいて、前記埋込可能な医療機器の複数の利用可能な動作モードから少なくとも1つの動作モードを選択するように構成された動作モード選択器と、
前記埋込可能な医療機器が前記選択された少なくとも1つの動作モードにおいて動作することを可能にするパラメータの値である前記一組の動作パラメータの前記値を生成するように構成されたパラメータ値生成器と
を含む、請求項1に記載のCRMシステム。 - 前記徴候に基づくパラメータ生成モジュールは、
ユーザ選択に基づいて、前記埋込可能な医療機器の複数の利用可能な動作モードから少なくとも1つの動作モードを選択するように構成された動作モード選択器であって、前記ユーザ選択を受け取るためのモード入力部を含む動作モード選択器と、
前記埋込可能な医療機器が前記選択された少なくとも1つの動作モードにおいて動作することを可能にするパラメータの値である前記一組の動作パラメータの前記値を生成するように構成されたパラメータ値生成器と
を含む、請求項1に記載のCRMシステム。 - 前記徴候に基づくパラメータ生成モジュールは、前記患者に特有な情報を前記機器に特有な情報に関連付けるマッピング・アルゴリズムを実行するように構成されたマッピング・アルゴリズム実行モジュールを含む、請求項1から3のいずれかに記載のCRMシステム。
- 前記選択入力機器は、前記ディスプレイ画面上に表示された選択ボタンを含む、請求項1に記載のCRMシステム。
- 前記ディスプレイ画面は、双方向型画面であり、前記パラメータ領域は、前記一組の動作パラメータの前記表示された値の変更を可能にするように構成されており、前記パラメータ入力機器は、前記パラメータ領域の部分を含む、請求項1に記載のCRMシステム。
- 前記ユーザ・インターフェースは、徴候に基づくプログラミング・モードとパラメータに基づくプログラミング・モードとのうちの1つを選択するように、および前記徴候に基づくプログラミング・モードと前記パラメータに基づくプログラミング・モードとを切り換えるように構成されたユーザ制御可能なプログラミング・モード切り換え器をさらに含む、請求項1から6のいずれかに記載のCRMシステム。
- 前記患者情報入力部に結合された患者情報保存システムであって、前記患者に特有な情報を保存するように構成された1つまたは複数の記憶機器を含む患者情報保存システムをさらに含む、請求項1から7のいずれかに記載のCRMシステム。
- 前記1つまたは複数の記憶機器の各々は、前記埋込可能な医療機器の使用のための前記徴候、人口統計学的データ、心臓の病歴、電気記録図、心電図、心エコー図、体格、心疾患以外の病歴、薬剤投薬計画のうちの1つまたは複数を保存するように構成されている、請求項8に記載のCRMシステム。
- 遠隔通信ネットワークをさらに含み、前記1つまたは複数の記憶機器のうちの少なくとも1つは、前記遠隔通信ネットワークを介して前記患者情報入力部に結合されている、請求項8および9のいずれかに記載のCRMシステム。
- 前記機器情報入力部に結合された機器情報保存システムであって、複数の機器タイプに対して前記機器に特有な情報を保存するように構成された機器情報保存システムをさらに含む、請求項1から10のいずれかに記載のCRMシステム。
- 前記外部システムは、患者管理システムを含み、
前記患者管理システムは、
遠隔計測を介して前記埋込可能な医療機器に通信可能に結合された外部機器と、
前記外部機器に結合された遠隔通信ネットワークと、
前記遠隔通信ネットワークに結合された1つまたは複数の遠隔機器と
を含む、請求項1から11のいずれかに記載のCRMシステム。 - 前記1つまたは複数の遠隔機器は、前記患者に特有な情報の複数部分を保存するように構成された少なくとも1つの記憶機器を含む、請求項12に記載のCRMシステム。
- 前記外部システムに通信可能に結合された前記埋込可能な医療機器であって、ペースメーカーおよび除細動器のうちの1つまたは複数を含む前記埋込可能な医療機器を含む、請求項1から13のいずれかに記載のCRMシステム。
- 前記埋込可能な医療機器は、心臓再同期機器および心臓リモデリング機器のうちの1つまたは複数を含む、請求項14に記載のCRMシステム。
- 埋込可能な医療機器をプログラムする方法であって、前記方法は、
前記埋込可能な医療機器の使用のための徴候を含む患者に特有な情報を収集することと、
前記埋込可能な医療機器の機器タイプを含む機器に特有な情報を受け取ることであって、前記機器タイプは、1つまたは複数の利用可能な動作モードと複数のプログラム可能なパラメータを示す、ことと、
前記患者に特有な情報と前記機器に特有な情報とに基づいて、前記複数のプログラム可能なパラメータの一組の動作パラメータの値を生成するために徴候に基づくプログラミング・アルゴリズムを実行することと、
前記一組の動作パラメータの前記値を受領する、変更する、または、破棄するためのユーザ選択を受け取ることと
を含む、方法。 - 前記徴候に基づくプログラミング・アルゴリズムを実行することは、
前記1つまたは複数の利用可能な動作モードから少なくとも1つの動作モードを選択することと、
前記埋込可能な医療機器が前記選択された少なくとも1つの動作モードにおいて動作することを可能にするパラメータの値である前記一組の動作パラメータの前記値を生成することと
を含む、請求項16に記載の方法。 - 前記徴候に基づくプログラミング・アルゴリズムを実行することは、
前記1つまたは複数の利用可能な動作モードのうちの少なくとも1つの動作モードのユーザ選択を受け取ることと、
前記埋込可能な医療機器が前記ユーザによって選択された少なくとも1つの動作モードにおいて動作することを可能にするパラメータの値である前記一組の動作パラメータの前記値を生成することと
を含む、請求項16に記載の方法。 - 前記徴候に基づくプログラミング・アルゴリズムを実行することは、前記患者に特有な情報を前記埋込可能な医療機器の前記機器に特有な情報に関連付けるマッピング・アルゴリズムを実行することを含む、請求項16から18のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 前記一組の動作パラメータの前記値を受領するというユーザ選択が受け取られた場合に、前記一組の動作パラメータの前記値を使用して前記埋込可能な医療機器をプログラムすることをさらに含む、請求項16から19のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 前記一組の動作パラメータを変更するというユーザ選択が受け取られた場合に、前記一組の動作パラメータの1つまたは複数の変更された値を受け取ることと、
前記一組の動作パラメータの前記1つまたは複数の変更された値を使用して前記埋込可能な医療機器をプログラムすることと
をさらに含む、請求項16から20のいずれかに記載の方法。 - 前記一組の動作パラメータの前記1つまたは複数の変更された値を使用して前記埋込可能な医療機器をプログラムする前に、前記一組の動作パラメータの前記1つまたは複数の変更された値を1つまたは複数の所定の安全性限界に対して照合することをさらに含む、請求項21に記載の方法。
- 前記埋込可能な医療機器をプログラムすることは、埋込可能なペースメーカーをプログラムすることを含む、請求項21および22のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 前記埋込可能な医療機器をプログラムすることは、埋込可能な除細動器をプログラムすることを含む、請求項21および22のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 前記埋込可能な医療機器をプログラムすることは、埋込可能な心臓再同期処置機器をプログラムすることを含む、請求項21および22のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 前記埋込可能な医療機器をプログラムすることは、埋込可能な心臓リモデリング制御処置機器をプログラムすることを含む、請求項21および22のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 前記患者に特有な情報を収集することは、前記埋込可能な医療機器の使用のための前記徴候、人口統計学的データ、心臓の病歴、電気記録図、心電図、心エコー図、体格、心疾患以外の病歴、薬剤投薬計画のうちの1つまたは複数を収集することを含む、請求項16から26のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 前記患者に特有な情報を収集することは、電子医療記録から情報を抽出することを含む、請求項16から27のいずれかに記載の方法。
