Abstract
Description
本出願は、2004年11月5日に出願された米国仮特許出願第60/625,391号に基づく優先権を主張する。前記出願は、参照することによってその全体が本開示中に文献援用されている。
本発明は、大別すると可撓性パッケージに関しており、より詳細には、流体作動密封(fluid actuated closure)を有する可撓性パッケージと、パッケージを製造及び使用する方法とに関する。
一般に従来式の可撓性パッケージは、使用者がポーチ又はパッケージ内へのアクセスを選択的に得ることができるように設計された外部の若しくは一体化した摺動手段又は他の類似装置を含む。従来から、一体化されていないビニタイ(twist tie)及び他の縛る手段も可撓性パッケージの開いた端の部分を閉じるために用いられている。これらの器具は、しばしば追加の製造や、パッケージ内へのしばしば高価な材料及び/又は器具を必要とする。
本発明は、可撓性パッケージ及び包装業界が直面している多くの問題を解決する。本発明の実施形態は、アクセス用開口部を介してアクセス可能な内部を形成するために、共に少なくとも部分的に接合している少なくとも一つの前部及び後部パネル部を一般に有するパッケージに関している。内部は、製品及び他の対象物又は物質を貯蔵及び分配する(dispensing)ことができる。更に、少なくとも一つのウェブ(web)材が前部及び後部パネル部それぞれに接合することによって、少なくとも二つのほぼ平行なチャンバ及び/又はチャネルをそれぞれ形成することができ、それはアクセス用開口部の少なくとも一部にほぼ沿って伸びる。ある実施形態においては、それぞれのチャンバが、流体流通(fluid communication)中に貯留又は貯蔵部及び、密封部を含む。好適な実施形態においては、気体(例えば空気)、液体、ゲル又は他の流体様物質を例とする流体を製造中に各チャンバに入れることが可能であることによって、貯留部及び/又は密封部は通常膨らむ若しくは広がる。流体レギュレータは、各チャンバの貯留部及び密封部の間に形成及び/又は配置されることによって、それらの間の流体の移動及び/又は流れを制御することができる。

本発明の目的は、可撓性パッケージを例とするパッケージが開封され、単純な絞り動作によって再密封されることを可能にすることによって、パッケージが最初に消費者によって開封された後に酸素の透過に対する高度のバリアを維持でき、及び/又は所望される場合は一方向の開放バルブを提供することである。本開示中で提供される様々な実施形態及び教示は、剛性又は半剛性のパッケージにも用いることができる。
Claims (27)
- 物を保持するためのパッケージであって、
第一のパネル部と、
第二のパネル部と、
第一のパネル部の一部に沿って操作可能に配置された少なくとも一つの流体包含チャンバと、
流体包含チャンバ内に配置された流体と
を有し、第一と第二のパネル部は操作可能に連結されることによって、それらの間に内部キャビティを形成し、内部キャビティはアクセス用開口部を介してアクセス可能であり、少なくとも一つの流体包含チャンバが、流体流通中に貯留部と密封部とを有し、密封部はアクセス用開口部の近くに配置されており、少なくとも一つの流体包含チャンバの貯留部と密封部との間に流通可能であり、貯留部への圧力がそれに応じて流体を貯留部から密封部へと移動させることによって、アクセス用開口部をほぼ閉じるパッケージ。 - 流体が気体である請求項1に記載のパッケージ。
- 少なくとも一つの流体包含チャンバが、流体流通する流体レギュレータであって、貯留部と密封部との中間に配置される流体レギュレータを更に含む請求項1に記載のパッケージ。

後部パネル部の内向面の一部に沿って配置された第二の流体チャンバを有し、ここで、第二の流体チャンバは、流通する第二の貯留部と第二の密封部とを有し、第一と第二の密封部はアクセス用開口部近くに互いに対向して配置されており、
第一と第二の流体チャンバ内にあり、それぞれの貯留部及び密封部の間を流通することができる流体を有し、ここで、流体の貯留部から密封部への移動がそれに応じて、アクセス用開口部をほぼ閉じるために対向する密封部を互いに隣接するよう着座させるパッケージ。 - 流体が気体である請求項16に記載のパッケージ。

ウェブ素材をパッケージ形成機械の中を通ってフォールディングステーションへと供給することで、前部パネル部及び後部パネル部を形成するためにウェブ素材を折り曲げる段階と、
折り曲げられたものの前部パネル部及び後部の間の開口部に第一及び第二のチャンバのウェブ部分を導入する段階と、
第一のチャンバのウェブ部分を第一の成形材のほぼ周囲で前部パネル部にシールすることによって、その中に流体を有する第一のチャンバを形成する段階と、
