Description
物品を製造するための組成物は、少なくとも50%の水硬性フライアッシュを含む水硬性成分と、水溶性のフィルム形成ポリマーと、水とを含む。この組成物は、速やかに硬化し、多数の用途がある可撓性で変形可能な固体を形成する。ポリマーの量が比較的少ないにも拘らず、得られた組成物は、水硬性成分よりもプラスチックにより類似した特性を有する。場合によっては、組成物は、分散剤、界面活性剤、減水剤、発泡剤、消泡剤、着色剤、収縮低減剤、補強ファイバーおよびフィラーを含む1つまたは複数の添加剤をも含む。
本発明の組成物は、水硬性成分と、ポリマーと、水とを含む。別段の指示がなければ、組成物を説明する、本明細書で報告される量または濃度は重量基準である。
表Iの配合1の成分からスラリーを作製した。液体ポリマー中に含まれる水に追加する水は加えないでスラリーを形成した。
実施例1の方法にしたがって、表Iの配合2および配合3からそれぞれスラリーを調製した。実施例1で説明したのと同様にして、円形のパッティーをそれぞれのスラリーから注型し、乾燥させた。配合2からのパッティーを図3に示し、図4は配合3のパッティーを示す。パッティーの乾燥とともに、配合2および3は、著しい収縮ひび割れが発生し、その大部分は、注型後最初の2時間以内に発生した。図2に示すように、実施例1のフライアッシュ組成物では、ひび割れの発生は全くなかった。これにより、50%を超えるフライアッシュを含む組成物の優れた耐収縮ひび割れ性および寸法安定性が実際に示されている。
配合1のサンプルの引張り特性を、MTS Systems Corp.of Eden Prairie,MN製のModel 810閉回路変位制御試験機において試験した。長さ8インチ、幅2インチ、厚さ1/4インチの長方形の試験片を調製した。試験片の両側面上の中間高さに長さ1/2インチのノッチを切り込んだ。試験片が28日齢になった時に、試験を行なった。試験結果を以下の表IIに示す。
フライアッシュの一部分を他のポゾランで置換することにより、他のポゾラン材料の使用を試験した。以下の表IIIに示すように、シリカヒュームを使用して3種の組成物を作製した。
