Abstract
【解決手段】液晶表示パネル10は、液晶層11と、液晶層11に横方向電界を印加する電極を有する駆動基板12と、液晶層11を挟んで駆動基板12に対向する対向基板13とを備える。駆動基板12上には、液晶層11に接する表面にラビング法で形成された第1の配向層23が形成され、対向基板13上には、液晶層11に接する表面に粒子ビーム照射法で形成された第2の配向層35が形成されている。

Description
前記駆動基板上には、液晶層に接する表面にラビング法で形成された配向層が形成され、前記対向基板上には、液晶層に接する表面に非接触配向法で形成された配向層が形成されていることを特徴とする。
前記駆動基板の表面に配向膜を形成し、該配向膜をラビングして第1配向層を形成する工程と、
前記対向基板の表面に配向膜を形成し、該配向膜に対する光照射又は粒子ビーム照射によって第2配向層を形成する工程とを有することを特徴とする。

Claims (6)
- 液晶層と、該液晶層に横方向電界を印加する電極を有する駆動基板と、前記液晶層を挟んで前記駆動基板に対向する対向基板とを備える液晶表示パネルにおいて、
前記駆動基板上には、液晶層に接する表面にラビング法で形成された配向層が形成され、前記対向基板上には、液晶層に接する表面に非接触配向法で形成された配向層が形成されていることを特徴とする液晶表示パネル。 - 前記対向基板上に形成された配向層は、前記対向基板上に形成された膜を覆うオーバーコート層の表面部分に形成されている、請求項1に記載の液晶表示パネル。
- 前記対向基板上に形成された配向層が共役二重結合を含む、請求項2に記載の液晶表示パネル。
- 前記対向基板上に形成された配向層が、湿式成膜法で堆積された高分子膜である、請求項1〜3の何れか一に記載の液晶表示パネル。
- 前記対向基板上に形成された配向層が、粒子ビーム照射によって配向されている、請求項4に記載の液晶表示パネル。
- 液晶層と、該液晶層に横方向電界を印加する電極を有する駆動基板と、前記液晶層を挟んで前記駆動基板に対向する対向基板とを備える液晶表示パネルを製造する方法において、
前記駆動基板の表面に配向膜を形成し、該配向膜をラビングして第1配向層を形成する工程と、
前記対向基板の表面に配向膜を形成し、該配向膜に対する光照射又は粒子ビーム照射によって第2配向層を形成する工程とを有することを特徴とする液晶表示パネルの製造方法。
