【解決手段】 フレームn−2に関連する低速画素データに基づいて、現在のフレームnのためにフレームn−1の低速画素について液晶のオーバドライブをメモリ効率よく行う。

Description
(1) p=fs(t)
ここで、fsは、固定された開始画素sに対応する1フレーム画素応答関数である。例えば、開始画素値s=32と、目標画素値t=192とを有する画素に対する1フレーム画素応答関数fs(t)は、p=100の画素輝度レベルまでしか到達できない場合、f32(192)=100と表される。
(2) 画素={0,32,64,96,128,160,192,224,255}
このように、拡張オーバドライブテーブルは、すべての重複データを格納または使用する必要なしに、重複する点をまたぐ場合の任意の補間誤差の大きさを、許容範囲なレベルまで低減する。図1は、開始画素が列jで与えられ目標画素が行iで与えられるよう構成された代表的なオーバドライブテーブル100を示す図である。オーバドライブテーブル100は、計算およびメモリのリソースを節約するためにサブサンプリングによってテーブル項目の数を減らしたオーバドライブテーブルであることに注意されたい。したがって、テーブル100は、256×256の項目、すなわち、開始画素と目標画素との組み合わせごとに1つの項目を有する完全なオーバドライブテーブル(図示せず)の「サブサンプリング」によって得られたデータ点を提供する。テーブル100は、32画素幅のグリッド(すなわち、{0,32,64,96,128,160,192,224,255})に基づいているため、サンプリングのグリッドから外れたデータ点に対応する「欠落した」行および列が数多く存在し、それらは、多くの周知の補間方法のいずれかに基づいて実行時に推定される。
Claims (10)
- 液晶のオーバドライブを実行する方法であって、
以前の入力フレームn−2の画素値(OPn-2)と直前の入力フレームの画素値(IPn-1)との両方が低速領域閾値よりも小さいと共に、現在の入力フレームの画素値(IPn)が前記低速領域閾値よりも大きい場合に、低速領域標識を設定する工程と、
現在のビデオ出力フレームである前記直前のビデオ入力フレームn−1に関連する出力画素値(OPDn-1)を算出する工程と、
前記現在のビデオ出力フレームn−1の間に前記出力画素値OPDn-1を適用する工程と、を備える、方法。 - 請求項1に記載の方法であって、前記現在のビデオ入力フレームnと、前記直前のビデオ入力フレームn−1と、前記以前のビデオ入力フレームn−2とは、それぞれ、関連する画素値をそれぞれ有する複数の画素からなる、方法。
- 請求項2に記載の方法であって、前記現在のビデオ出力フレームn−1に関連する画素は、それぞれ、対応する目標画素値を有し、直前のビデオ出力フレームn−2に関連する画素は、それぞれ、対応する開始画素値を有する、方法。
- 請求項3に記載の方法であって、さらに、
前記現在のビデオ出力フレームからのMビットの値(OPn-1[M])を準備する工程と、
前記データワードIPDn-1[N]を前記OPn-1[M]と連結する工程と、を備える、方法。 - 請求項4に記載の方法であって、さらに、
前記連結されたデータワードをフレームバッファに書き込む工程と、
前記書き込む工程と同時に、前記直前のビデオ入力フレームn−1および前記直前のビデオ出力フレームn−2について連結された画素データワードに基づいて、以前に連結されたデータワードを読み出す工程と、を備える、方法。 - 液晶のオーバドライブを実行するためのコンピュータプログラム製品であって、
直前のビデオ出力フレームn−2と現在のビデオ出力フレームn−1との両方が低速画素値範囲内にあると共に、次のビデオ出力フレーム(すなわち、現在のビデオ入力フレーム)nが前記低速画素値範囲外にあるという条件が成り立つか否かを判定して、前記条件が成り立つ場合に、低速領域標識を設定するためのコンピュータコードと、
前記低速領域標識の値に基づいて、前記現在の出力ビデオフレームn−1に関連する出力画素値(OPDn-1)を算出するためのコンピュータコードと、
前記現在のビデオ出力フレームn−1の間に前記出力画素値OPDn-1を適用するためのコンピュータコードと、
前記コンピュータコードを格納するためのコンピュータ読み取り可能な媒体と、を備える、コンピュータプログラム製品。 - 請求項6に記載のコンピュータプログラム製品であって、前記現在のビデオフレームnと、前記以前のビデオフレームn−1と、前記ビデオフレームn−2とは、それぞれ、関連する画素値をそれぞれ有する複数の画素からなる、コンピュータプログラム製品。
- 請求項7に記載のコンピュータプログラム製品であって、前記現在のビデオフレームに関連する画素は、それぞれ、対応する目標画素値を有し、前記以前のビデオフレームフレームは、それぞれ、対応する開始画素値を有する、コンピュータプログラム製品。
- 請求項8に記載のコンピュータプログラム製品であって、さらに、
前記現在のビデオ出力フレームからのMビットの値(OPn-1[M])を準備するためのコンピュータコードと、
前記IPDn[N]を前記OPn-1[M]と連結するためのコンピュータコードと、を備える、コンピュータプログラム製品。 - 請求項9に記載のコンピュータプログラム製品であって、さらに、
前記連結されたデータワードをフレームバッファに書き込むためのコンピュータコードと、
前記書き込みと同時に、前記直前のビデオ入力フレームn−1および前記直前のビデオ出力フレームn−2について連結された画素データワードに基づいて、以前に連結されたデータワードを読み出すためのコンピュータコードと、を備える、コンピュータプログラム製品。
