Abstract
Description
電子画像センサは、デジタルカメラに組み込まれるだけでなく、最近では、携帯電話や携帯情報端末(PDA)のような家庭用電子機器にも組み込まれている。こうした製品は市場の圧力を受けて、そのサイズが縮小され、または、所与のサイズの製品の中に組み込まれる機能の数が増加している。
本発明は第1の態様において、対象物を表わすカラー画像信号を生成する方法であって、センサ素子のアレイを有する光センサを用意し、対象物からの異なる色の光によって光センサの対応する領域上に個別に画像形成することを含む方法を提供する。光センサは、そこに入射する光に応答してカラー画像信号を生成する働きをする。
図2は、本発明によるカラーイメージセンサの非常に単純化された第1の実施形態100を示す等角図である。カラーイメージセンサ100は、対象物を表わすカラー画像信号を生成し、光センサ112、並びに、101、102及び103によって概略的に示された撮像素子から構成される。光センサ112の主表面116上には、センサ素子が配置される。動作時に、光センサは、主表面116に入射する光に応じてカラー画像信号114を生成する。撮像素子101、102及び103は、対象物の画像を光センサ112の各領域131、132及び133上に異なる色の光で形成するように構成される。画像間における光のリークを防止するために、画像が形成される光センサの各領域は、実質的に空間的に離れている。
Claims (23)
- 対象物を表わすカラー画像信号を生成する方法であって、
センサ素子のアレイを有する光センサであって、該光センサに入射する光に応答してカラー画像信号を生成する働きをする光センサを用意するステップと、
前記対象物からの異なる色の光によって、前記光センサの対応する領域上に個別に画像形成するステップと
からなる方法。 - 前記対象物からの光の一部からの光をフィルタリングし、第1の色の光を生成することを更に含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記対象物からの光の他の部分からの光をフィルタリングし、第2の色の光を生成することを更に含む、請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記第2の色の光は、(a)可視スペクトルの中心に比較的近い光、及び、(b)前記第1の色の光よりも波長範囲の広い光のうちの少なくとも一方であり、
前記画像形成は、前記光センサの複数の領域のうちの第1の領域上に第1の色の光で画像形成し、前記光センサの複数の領域のうちの第2の領域上に第2の色の光で画像形成することを含む、請求項3に記載の方法。 - 前記光センサの複数の領域のうちの第1の領域と、前記光センサの複数の領域のうちの第2の領域は、センサ素子の(a)サイズ、及び、(b)数のうちの少なくとも一方が異なる、請求項4に記載の方法。
- 前記第2の色の光は、可視光に関してフィルタリングされない、請求項3又は請求項4に記載の方法。
- 前記第2の色の光は、赤色の光、緑色の光、及び、青色の光を含む、請求項3又は請求項4に記載の方法。
- 前記カラー画像信号は、前記光センサの複数の領域のそれぞれに対応する画像信号成分を含み、
前記画像形成は、前記光センサの各領域上に画像を形成し、
前記方法は、前記カラー画像信号から画像間の視差の影響を除去するために、前記画像信号成分を処理することを更に含む、請求項1〜7のうちのいずれか一項に記載の方法。 - 前記画像の対応する部分間の視差の影響を除去するために、前記処理が更に実施される、請求項8に記載の方法。
- 前記方法は、撮像素子を用意し、該撮像素子を前記光センサに取り付けることを更に含み、
前記カラー画像信号は、前記光センサの複数の領域のそれぞれに対応する画像信号成分を含み、
前記方法は、前記カラー画像信号から、前記撮像素子と前記光センサとの間の不整合の影響を除去するために、前記画像信号成分を処理することを更に含む、請求項1〜9のうちのいずれか一項に記載の方法。 - 前記カラー画像信号は、前記光センサの複数の領域のそれぞれに対応する画像信号成分を含み、
前記方法は、
前記画像信号成分を互いに個別に生成するために使用される露光時間を制御するステップと、
前記露光時間の差を補正することを含む、前記カラー画像信号を生成するための前記画像信号成分の処理を行うステップと
を更に含む、請求項1〜9のうちのいずれか一項に記載の方法。 - 対象物を表わす画像信号を生成するためのカラーイメージセンサであって、
センサ素子を有する光センサであって、該光センサに入射する光に応答して画像信号を生成する働きをする光センサと、
前記対象物の画像を異なる色の光で前記光センサの対応する領域上にそれぞれ形成するように構成された複数の撮像素子と
からなるカラーイメージセンサ。 - 前記複数の撮像素子のうちの第1の撮像素子、及び、前記複数の撮像素子のうちの第2の撮像素子に対して直列になるように光学的に配置され、第1の色の光を通過させるように構成された第1のカラーフィルタを更に含む、請求項12に記載のカラーイメージセンサ。
- 前記複数の撮像素子のうちの第2の撮像素子に対して直列になるように光学的に配置され、前記第1の色とは異なる第2の色の光を通過させるように構成された第2のカラーフィルタを更に含む、請求項13に記載のカラーイメージセンサ。
- 前記第2の色の光は、(a)可視スペクトルの中心に比較的近い光、及び、(b)前記第1の色の光よりも波長範囲の広い光のうちの少なくとも一方であり、
前記撮像素子は、前記光センサの複数の領域のうちの第1の領域上に前記第1の色の光で画像を形成し、更に、前記光センサの複数の領域のうちの第2の領域上に前記第2の色の光で画像を形成する、請求項14に記載のカラーイメージセンサ。 - 前記複数の領域のうちの第1の領域と、前記複数の領域のうちの第2の領域は、センサ素子の(a)面積、及び、(b)数のうちの少なくとも一方が異なる、請求項15に記載のカラーイメージセンサ。
- 前記第2のカラーフィルタは、可視光に関してフィルタリングされていない前記第2の色の光を通過させるように構成される、請求項14又は請求項15に記載のカラーイメージセンサ。
- 前記第2のカラーフィルタは、赤色の光、緑色の光、及び、青色の光を前記第2の色の光として通過させるように構成される、請求項14又は請求項15に記載のカラーイメージセンサ。
- 前記複数の撮像素子のうちの第3の撮像素子に対して直列になるように光学的に配置され、前記第1の色及び前記第2の色とは異なる第3の色の光を通過させるように構成された第3のカラーフィルタを更に含む、請求項14〜18のうちのいずれか一項に記載のカラーイメージセンサ。
- 前記第2の色の光は、(a)可視スペクトルの中心に比較的近い光、及び、(b)前記第1の色の光及び前記第3の色の光よりも波長範囲の広い光のうちの少なくとも一方であり、
前記撮像素子は、前記光センサの複数の領域のうちの第1の領域上に前記第1の色の光で画像を形成し、前記光センサの複数の領域のうちの第2の領域上に前記第2の色の光で画像を形成し、前記光センサの複数の領域のうちの第3の領域上に前記第3の色の光で画像を形成し、前記複数の領域のうちの第2の領域は、センサ素子の(a)面積、及び、(b)数のうちの少なくとも一方が、前記複数の領域のうちの第1の領域、及び、前記複数の領域のうちの第2の領域とは異なる、請求項19に記載のカラーイメージセンサ。 - 前記カラー画像信号は、前記光センサの複数の領域のそれぞれに対応する画像信号成分を含み、
前記イメージセンサは、前記画像信号成分を処理し、前記カラー画像信号から画像間の視差の影響を除去する働きをするプロセッサを更に含む、請求項12〜20のうちのいずれか一項に記載のカラーイメージセンサ。 - 前記撮像素子は前記光センサに取り付けられ、
前記画像信号成分は、前記光センサの複数の領域のそれぞれに対応する画像信号成分を含み、
前記イメージセンサは、前記画像信号成分を処理し、前記カラー画像信号から前記光センサに対する前記撮像素子の位置ずれの影響を除去する働きをするプロセッサを更に含む、請求項12〜20のうちのいずれか一項に記載のカラーイメージセンサ。 - 全ての前記センサ素子を支持する2以上の基板を更に含む、請求項12〜22のうちのいずれか一項に記載のカラーイメージセンサ。
