図8は、例における応答忠実度問題が、異なる値を備えた直接隣接セルを有するセルにみられることを示す。すなわち、値170を備えたセルが、値176を有する(対角関係にない)直接隣接セルを有する場合、何れのセルも問題を有する。

実際に、上記値はパネル・レベルでの測定によって得られる。
テーブルに示す例では、第1の列はレンダリングする対象のビデオ値に相当し、第2の列は(図18に関して説明したパネルの標準領域に用いる)標準符号語に相当し、第3の列、第4の列及び第5の列はそれぞれ、領域Δ1、Δ2、Δ3に用いる符号語に相当する。こうした最後の3つの列では、符号語xxxxxxxxxxxxは、脱落符号語(使用せず)を意味する。
Claims (14)
- 表示画面(10)上に表示される対象のビデオ・データ(R、G、B)を、
所定数のビデオ・レベルから選択されるビデオ・レベルを有する前記ビデオ・データ(R、G、B)を供給し、
前記所定数のビデオ・レベルを、相当する数の符号語によって符号化し、
前記符号語によって前記表示画面(10)の中央領域内の画素を照光し、かつ、
前記符号語の選択可能部分において一定のビット値を有する、前記数の符号語のうちの符号語のみを用いることによって前記表示画面(10)の前記中央領域を囲む境界領域内の画素を照光することによって処理することを特徴とする方法。 - 請求項1記載の方法であって、2つの1(2進)間に0(2進)を有する符号語は、前記境界領域を照光することに用いられないことを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項1又は2記載の方法であって、用いられない符号語に相当するビデオ・レベルがディザリングによって再現されることを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項1乃至3のうちの一項に記載の方法であって、一定のビット値を有する前記符号語の前記部分が、表示する対象のピクチャの電力レベルによって判定されることを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項1乃至4のうちの一項に記載の方法であって、一定のビット値を有すると判定される前記符号語の前記部分は、前記符号語の最上位ビットを含むことを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項1乃至5のうちの一項に記載の方法であって、前記境界領域がいくつかの部分領域に分割され、前記いくつかの部分領域のうちの第1のものが、一定のビット値の第1の選択可能部分を備えた符号語によって照光され、前記いくつかの領域のうちの第2のものが、一定のビット値の第2の選択可能部分を備えた符号語によって照光され、前記第2の選択可能部分は符号語の前記第1の選択可能部分、若しくは前記第1の選択可能部分の一部分を含む、又は前記第1の選択可能部分とは異なることを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項1乃至6のうちの一項に記載の方法であって、前記表示画面のセルが動的プライミングにかけられることを特徴とする方法。
- 表示画面(10)上に表示される対象のビデオ・データ(R、G、B)を処理する装置であって、
所定数のビデオ・レベルから選択されるビデオ・レベルを有する前記ビデオ・データを供給するデータ供給手段と、
前記所定数のビデオ・レベルを、相当する数の符号語によって符号化する符号化手段と、
前記符号語によって前記表示画面(10)の中央領域内の画素を照光する照光手段とを含み、
前記照光手段は、前記符号語の選択可能部分において一定のビット値を有する、前記数の符号語のうちの符号語のみを用いることによって前記表示画面の前記中央領域を囲む境界領域内の画素を照光するよう構成されることを特徴とする装置。 - 請求項8記載の装置であって、2つの1(2進)間に0(2進)を有する符号語は、前記境界領域を照光することに用いられないことを特徴とする装置。
- 請求項8又は9記載の装置であって、用いられない符号語に相当するビデオ・レベルを再現するディザリング手段(6)を更に含むことを特徴とする装置。
- 請求項8乃至10のうちの一項に記載の装置であって、一定のビット値を有する前記符号語の前記部分が電力レベルに基づいて判定可能であるように前記ビデオ・データ(R、G、B)の電力レベル(APL)を判定する電力レベル判定手段(2)を更に含むことを特徴とする装置。
- 請求項8乃至11のうちの一項に記載の装置であって、一定のビット値を有すると判定される前記符号語の前記部分は、前記符号語の最上位ビットを含むことを特徴とする装置。
- 請求項8乃至12のうちの一項に記載の装置であって、前記照光手段は前記境界領域をいくつかの部分領域に分割するよう構成され、前記いくつかの部分領域の第1のものが、一定のビット値の第1の選択可能部分を備えた符号語によって照光可能であり、前記いくつかの部分領域の第2のものが、一定のビット値の第2の選択可能部分を備えた符号語によって照光可能であり、前記第2の選択可能部分は、符号語の前記第1の選択可能部分、若しくは前記第1の選択可能部分の少なくとも一部分を含む、又は前記第1の選択可能部分とは異なることを特徴とする装置。
- 請求項8乃至13のうちの一項に記載の装置であって、前記表示画面(10)のセルを動的にプライミングする動的プライミング手段を更に含むことを特徴とする装置。
