Abstract
Description
超硬研磨材(super-hard abrasive material)のコアと、該超硬研磨材の外面に化学的に結合した金属炭化物、窒化物、ホウ化物または炭窒化物の内層と、金属炭窒化物特に炭窒化チタンの外層とを含む、被覆超硬研磨剤。
本発明は被覆された研磨材の様々な形態に関するのであるが、便宜上、殆どの部分で、ダイヤモンドグリットを被覆することに関連して記載してある。
Claims (8)
- 超硬研磨材のコアと、該超硬研磨材の外面に化学的に結合された金属炭化物、窒化物、ホウ化物または炭窒化物の内層と、該内層の上に付着された金属炭窒化物の外層を含む、被覆超硬研磨剤。
- 外層が炭窒化チタンから形成される、請求項1記載の被覆超硬研磨剤。
- 外層が物理蒸着によって付着される、請求項1または2記載の被覆超硬研磨剤。
- 超硬研磨材がダイヤモンドまたはcBN系である、請求項1〜3のいずれか一項記載の被覆超硬研磨剤。
- 超硬研磨材が、ダイヤモンドまたはcBNグリット、PCD基質、熱安定性PCD(TSPCD)基質、PcBN基質、CVDダイヤモンド皮膜、および単結晶ダイヤモンド基質を含む群から選ばれる、請求項4記載の被覆超硬研磨剤。
- 内層が、高温被覆法を使用して研磨材の表面(単数または複数)に炭化物、窒化物またはホウ化物を(単独または組合せで)形成できる元素から形成される、請求項1〜5のいずれか一項記載の被覆超硬研磨剤。
- 元素が周期表のIVa、Va、VIa、IIIbおよびIVb族を含む群から選ばれる、請求項7記載の被覆超硬研磨剤。
- 内層が、ダイヤモンド系コアの場合にはチタンまたはクロムの炭化物の被膜であり、又はcBN系コアの場合にはチタンまたはクロムの窒化物、ホウ化物またはホウ窒化物の被膜である、請求項1〜7のいずれか一項記載の被覆超硬研磨剤。
