Abstract
【解決手段】波長分散補償光ファイバは、中央コア、2.0μm以上の幅(r2−r1)を有する中間クラッド、外側光クラッドに対して−3.0×10−3以下の屈折率差Dn3を有するディプレスト内側クラッドを備える。1550nmの波長で、このファイバは21ps/nm/km以上の正の波長分散および0.7以下のモード半径と中間クラッドの半径の比(W02/r2)を示す。本発明のファイバは、良好な性能指数値ならびに限定的な曲げ損失およびマイクロベンド損失を有する。このファイバは、限定的な挿入損失および低減された偏波モード分散を有する波長分散補償光モジュール内の低減された大きさのハウジング内に丸く巻くことができる。

1550nmの波長で、21ps/nm/km以上の正の波長分散、および0.7以下のモード半径と中間クラッド半径の比を有する波長分散補償光ファイバを提案する。

Claims (18)
- 半径r1および外側光クラッドに対する屈折率差Dn1を有する中央コアと、
半径r2および外側光クラッドに対する屈折率差Dn2を有し、2.0μm以上の幅(r2−r1)を有する中間クラッドと、
半径r3および−3.0×10−3以下である外側光クラッドに対する屈折率差Dn3を有するディプレスト内側クラッドと
を備え、
1550nmの波長で、21ps/nm/km以上である正の波長分散、および0.7以下であるファイバ中を伝搬する基本モードLP01のモード半径(W02)を中間クラッドの半径で割った比(W02/r2)を有する、分散補償光ファイバ。 - 1550nmの波長で105ps/nm/dB以上である性能指数(FOM)を有する、請求項1に記載のファイバ。
- 中央コアが4.0×10−3と6.5×10−3との間に含まれる外側光クラッドに対する屈折率差Dn1に対して4μmと6.50μmとの間に含まれる半径r1を有する、請求項1または2に記載のファイバ。
- 中間クラッドが16μm以下、好ましくは12μmと16μmとの間にある半径r3を有する、請求項1から3のいずれか一項に記載のファイバ。
- 中間クラッドが−1.0×10−3と2.0×10−3との間に含まれる外側光クラッドに対する屈折率差Dn2を有する、請求項1から4のいずれか一項に記載のファイバ。
- 中間クラッドが6μmと11μmとの間に含まれる半径r1を有する、請求項1から5のいずれか一項に記載のファイバ。
- 中間クラッドが2.0μmと4.5μmとの間の幅(r2−r1)を有する、請求項1から6のいずれか一項に記載のファイバ。
- ディプレスト内側クラッドが−3.5×10−3以下である外側光クラッドに対する屈折率差Dn3を有する、請求項1から7のいずれか一項に記載のファイバ。
- 10mmの曲げ半径に対して1625nmの波長で1dB/m以下である曲げ損失を有する、請求項1から8のいずれか一項に記載のファイバ。
- 同一の制約下で1550nmの波長でSSMFのマイクロベンド損失の0.8倍であるマイクロベンド損失を有する、請求項1から9のいずれか一項に記載のファイバ。
- 1550nmの波長で基本モードに対して80μm2以上である実効面積(Aeff)を有する、請求項1から10のいずれか一項に記載のファイバ。
- 1600nm以下である実効遮断波長(λceff)を有する、請求項1から11のいずれか一項に記載のファイバ。
- ディプレスト内側クラッド内に1550nmの波長でエネルギーの1.3%未満を有する、請求項1から12のいずれか一項に記載のファイバ。
- 請求項1から13のいずれか一項のファイバの少なくとも一部分を含む分散補償光モジュール。
- 1550nmの波長で1338ps/nmの累積波長分散に対して12.5dB以下である挿入損失を有する、請求項14に記載のモジュール。
- 1530nmと1570nmとの間に含まれる波長で1338ps/nmの累積波長分散に対して13dB以下である挿入損失を有する、請求項14または15に記載のモジュール。
- 1550nmの波長で0.50ps以下である偏波モード分散を有する、請求項14から16のいずれか一項に記載のモジュール。
- ファイバの部分が丸く巻かれており、同一の累積波長分散値でSSMFを受け取るハウジングの厚さよりも少なくとも25%小さい厚さを有するハウジングを有する、請求項14から17のいずれか一項に記載のモジュール。
