Abstract
【解決手段】複数の隔壁1によって2つの端面S1,S2間を互いに並行して連通する複数のセル2が形成されたハニカム構造体10において、複数の隔壁1を、セラミックスから構成し、セル2の形状を略正方形とし、隔壁1の交差部3を、R形状又はC形状とし、隔壁1の平均厚さTに対する交差部3の対角距離Lの比の値(L/T)を、1.6以上とし、セル2の開口率を、55%以上とする。

Description
焼成後にコージェライトとなるように、タルク、カオリン、アルミナ、シリカ等を所定の配合割合で調合し、バインダー、界面活性剤、水を加え、所定の配合割合で混合して坏土を得た。コージェライト化原料については、粒度、成分等は最終的には気孔率、熱膨脹率に影響するが、適宜、当業者であれば選定することが可能であり、また、バインダー、界面活性剤についても適宜設定することが可能である。得られた坏土を、焼成後に表1に示すセル構造となるよう、乾燥、焼成段階での収縮率を考慮して、スリット幅を調整した口金を付けた押し出し成形機を用いて押し出し成形を行い、乾燥、焼成後に直径が100mmで長さが100mmで、セルの形状が略正方形となるハニカム構造体を作製した。なお、表1に示す交点部のR又はC寸法は、前記口金のスリット交点部にR又はC加工することにより設定する。この設定により交差部の対角距離も決定される。また、隔壁の平均厚さは口金のスリット幅を調整することにより決定される。開口率は口金のスリット幅とセルピッチ及びR又はC寸法で決定される。なお、口金の寸法がそのままハニカム構造体におけるセル構造の寸法に反映されるわけではなく、乾燥/焼成工程の寸法収縮がハニカム構造体のセル構造寸法に影響する。
実施例1において、セルの構造を表1に示すように変えたこと以外は、実施例1と同様にした。平均排ガス温度の上昇について表1に示す。

Claims (4)
- 複数の隔壁によって2つの端面間を互いに並行して連通する複数のセルが形成されたハニカム構造体であって、複数の前記隔壁が、セラミックスから構成されてなり、前記セルの形状が略正方形であり、前記隔壁の交差部が、R形状又はC形状であり、前記隔壁の平均厚さに対する前記交差部の対角距離の比の値(交差部の対角距離/隔壁の平均厚さ)が、1.6以上であり、前記セルの開口率が、55%以上であるハニカム構造体。
- 前記隔壁が、コージェライト、アルミナ、ムライト及びリチウムアルミノシリケート(LAS)からなる群から選ばれる少なくとも一種のセラミックスから構成された請求項1に記載のハニカム構造体。
- 請求項1又は2に記載のハニカム構造体に触媒がコーティングされている触媒コートハニカム構造体。
- 請求項1又は2に記載のハニカム構造体又は請求項3に記載の触媒コートハニカム構造体が、フィルタの前段に設置されている浄化装置。
