Abstract
【解決手段】基板11上に設けられた下部電極13と、少なくとも有機発光層15cを備えて下部電極13上に設けられた発光ユニット15と、発光ユニット15上に設けられた光透過性を有する上部電極23とを備えた、いわゆるトップエミッション型の有機電界発光素子1であり、特に、発光ユニット15と上部電極15との間には、発光ユニット15側から順に、接続層17と正孔注入層(電荷注入層)19と正孔輸送層(電荷輸送層)21とが積層されている。このうち接続層17は、発光ユニット15に電荷を供給するための層である。

Description
先ず、基板11上に、次のようにして下部電極13を形成した。
上述した実施例と同様の手順にて発光ユニット15までを形成した後、発光ユニット15の上に直接、上部電極(陰極)23を形成した有機電界発光素子を作製した。
上述した実施例と同様の手順にて発光ユニット15までを形成した後、緩衝層としてV2O5(高純度化学社製)を0.2nm/sの成膜レートにて20nmの膜厚で形成した。尚、緩衝層となして形成したV2O5は、本発明構成においては接続層17として用いられる材料でもある。そして、この緩衝層上に、直接上部電極(陰極)23を形成した有機電界発光素子を作製した。
Claims (5)
- 基板上に設けられた下部電極と、少なくとも有機発光層を備えて当該下部電極上に設けられた発光ユニットと、当該発光ユニット上に設けられた光透過性を有する上部電極とを備えた有機電界発光素子において、
前記発光ユニットと上部電極との間には、
前記発光ユニットに電荷を供給するための接続層と、前記上部電極から注入される電荷と逆導電型の電荷輸送性を有する電荷輸送層とが、前記発光ユニット側から順に積層されている
ことを特徴とする有機電界発光素子。 - 請求項1記載の有機電界発光素子において、
前記接続層と前記電荷輸送層との間に、当該電荷輸送層と同一導電型の電荷注入特性を有する電荷注入層が設けられている
ことを特徴とする有機電界発光素子。 - 請求項1記載の有機電界発光素子において、
前記下部電極が陽極であり、前記上部電極が陰極であり、前記電荷輸送層が正孔輸送層である
ことを特徴とする有機電界発光素子。 - 請求項3記載の有機電界発光素子において、
前記発光ユニットにおける前記接続層と接する界面は、アルカリ金属またはアルカリ土類金属を用いた電子注入層で構成されている
ことを特徴とする有機電界発光素子。 - 請求項1記載の有機電界発光素子において、
前記上部電極は、金属酸化物からなる透明導電膜で構成されている
ことを特徴とする有機電界発光素子。
