Abstract
【解決手段】この方法は、チタン含有表面を有するガスタービンエンジン構成要素を提供することを含む。構成要素を、チタン中に炭素を拡散させるのに十分な温度、および1000°F未満に加熱する。炭素を表面中に拡散させて炭化物を形成するために、表面を炭素含有ガスに接触させる。その後、炭化物含有表面を、バインダおよび摩擦改質剤を含む潤滑材で被覆する。バインダは、好ましくは酸化チタンを含み、摩擦改質剤は、好ましくは硫化タングステンを含む。この表面と別のチタン含有表面との間の摩擦係数は、高高度大気中で約0.6未満である。

Claims (10)
- ガスタービンエンジン構成要素を表面処理するための方法であって、
チタン含有表面を有するガスタービンエンジン構成要素を提供することと、
前記構成要素を、前記チタン中に炭素を拡散させるのに十分であり且つ538℃未満の温度に加熱することと、
前記表面を、前記表面中に炭素を拡散させるのに十分な時間炭素含有ガスに接触させることと、
前記炭化物含有表面を、バインダおよび摩擦改質剤を含む潤滑剤被膜で被覆することとを含み、
前記表面と別のチタン含有表面と間の前記摩擦係数が、高高度大気中で約0.6未満である方法。 - 前記表面が、Ti−6−4、Ti−17、Ti−4−4−2、Ti−6−2−4−2、Ti−8−1−1、およびチタンを含有するニッケルベースの超合金からなる群から選択されるチタン含有合金を含む、請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記摩擦改質剤が、硫化タングステン、テルル化ビスマス、酸化ビスマス、およびそれらの組合せからなる群から選択される材料を含む、請求項1又は2に記載の方法。
- 前記摩擦改質剤が硫化タングステンを含む、請求項3記載の方法。
- 前記バインダが、酸化チタン、リン酸アルミニウム、およびそれらの組合せからなる群から選択される材料を含む、請求項1乃至4のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記バインダが酸化チタンを含む、請求項5記載の方法。
- 前記表面と別のチタン含有表面との間の摩擦係数が、高高度大気中で約0.4未満である、請求項1乃至6のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記表面と別のチタン含有表面との間の摩擦係数が、高高度大気中で約0.2未満である、請求項7記載の方法。
- 前記高高度大気が427℃以下の空気を含んでいる請求項1乃至8のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記高高度大気が、実質的に水蒸気がない大気を含む、請求項1乃至9のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
