Abstract
【解決手段】電磁スペクトルの無線周波数(RF)と赤外線(IR)部分の双方を用いて追跡環境内で対象(すなわち物又は人物)の位置を検出するのに用いる方法、システム及びバッジである。本システムは位置検出すべき対象用のバッテリ駆動するマイクロプロセッサ搭載のバッジを備える。各バッジは、(1)間隔が短くデジタル化した赤外線の光信号で範囲エリアを特定して対象の位置を特定する;(2)間隔が短くデジタル化した低出力のRF信号で対象の位置の狭域ゾーンを把握する;(3)間隔が長くデジタル化した高出力のRF信号で対象の位置の広域ゾーンを把握する。各バッジは、バッジに設けられた1以上の押しボタンスイッチが動作又は1以上の外部スイッチコネクタの状態が変化すると、固有の識別可能なIRと高出力RF信号とを発信する。高出力で間隔の長いRF信号は“管理用”パルスとなる。このパルスはホストコンピュータにRF受信器の受信範囲内にあり機能していることを伝達する。
Description
Claims (28)
- 追跡環境内における対象の位置検出方法であって:
各対象に、固有のバッジIDを含む間隔が短く低出力の狭域信号と、固有のバッジIDを含む間隔が長く高出力の広域信号とを送信可能なバッジを設けるステップと;
前記追跡環境内に分散して受信器を配列するステップであって、前記受信器の配列が、間隔が短く低出力の狭域信号と間隔が長く高出力の広域信号とを受信する1以上の受信器を備えるステップと;
各広域信号の受信に応じて固有のバッジIDを含む広域検出パケットを生成するステップと;
各狭域信号の受信に応じて固有のバッジIDを含む狭域検出信号を生成するステップと;
前記狭域又は広域検出パケットに含まれる少なくとも1のバッジ用受信器の識別情報に基づいてバッジ及びこれが付された対象物の位置を特定するステップとを備えることを特徴とする方法。 - 請求項1に記載の方法において、前記信号は電磁信号であることを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項2に記載の方法において、前記信号が無線周波数(RF)信号であり前記1以上の受信器が1以上のRF受信器を含むことを特徴とする方法。
- 追跡環境内における対象の位置検出システムであって:
各対象用の、固有のバッジIDを含む間隔が短く低出力の狭域信号と、固有のバッジIDを含む間隔が長く高出力の広域信号とを送信可能なバッジと;
前記追跡環境内に分散配置された受信器の配列を備える受信器アセンブリであって、前記受信器の配列が、間隔が短く低出力の狭域信号と間隔が長く高出力の広域信号とを受信し、各広域信号の受信に応じて固有のバッジIDを含む広域検出パケットを生成し、各狭域信号の受信に応じて固有のバッジIDを含む狭域検出信号を生成する受信器を備える受信器アセンブリと;
前記受信器アセンブリに設けられ前記広域及び狭域検出パケットを集積するデータ通信コントローラと;
前記コントローラに設けられ、前記集積された検出パケットを受信して、前記狭域又は広域検出パケットに含まれる1以上のバッジ用受信器の識別情報に基づいてバッジ及びこれが付された対象の位置を特定する位置検出プロセッサとを備えることを特徴とするシステム。 - 請求項4に記載のシステムにおいて、前記信号が電磁信号であることを特徴とするシステム。
- 請求項5に記載のシステムにおいて、前記信号が無線周波数(RF)信号であり、前記1以上の受信器が1以上のRF受信器を含むことを特徴とするシステム。
- 請求項6に記載のシステムにおいて、各バッジがRF信号を送信するRF送信部と、前記狭域及び広域信号の双方を固有のバッジIDとともに制御可能に変調する単一のコントローラとを備えることを特徴とするシステム。
- 請求項7に記載のシステムにおいて、前記単一のコントローラがマイクロプロセッサ搭載コントローラであることを特徴とするシステム。
- 請求項6に記載のシステムにおいて、前記受信器アセンブリが、前記1以上のRF受信器に設けられ受信したRF信号を制御可能に復調して前記広域及び狭域検出パケットを取得するコレクタを備えることを特徴とするシステム。
- 請求項9に記載のシステムにおいて、前記コレクタが、前記受信したRF信号を制御可能に復調する単一のマイクロプロセッサを備えることを特徴とするシステム。
- 追跡環境内における対象の位置検出方法であって:
各対象に、固有のバッジIDを含む概略見通し線信号(substantially line-or-sight signal)と、固有のバッジIDを含む非概略見通し線信号(substantially non-line-of-sight signal)とを送信可能なバッジを設けるステップと;
前記追跡環境内に分散して受信器を配列するステップであって、前記受信器の配列が:間隔が短く低出力で狭域の非概略見通し線信号及び間隔が長く高出力で広域の非概略見通し線信号の双方を受信する第1の受信器セットと;各々が前記概略見通し線信号を受信する第2の受信器セットとを備えるステップと;
高出力の非概略見通し線信号の受信に応じて固有のバッジIDを含む広域検出パケットを生成するステップと;
低出力の非概略見通し線信号の受信に応じて固有のバッジIDを含む狭域検出信号を生成するステップと;
各概略見通し線信号の受信に応じて固有のバッジIDを含む区切範囲検出信号を生成するステップと;
前記狭域、広域又は区切範囲検出パケットに含まれるバッジ用の第1及び第2の受信器セットの識別情報に基づいてバッジ及びこれが付された対象の位置を特定するステップとを備えることを特徴とする方法。 - 請求項11に記載の方法において、前記概略見通し線信号及び非概略見通し線信号は電磁信号であることを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項12に記載の方法において、前記非概略見通し線信号は無線周波数(RF)信号であり、前記第1のセットの各受信器はRF受信器であることを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項13に記載の方法において、前記概略見通し線信号は赤外線(IR)信号であり、前記第2のセットの各受信器はIR受信器であることを特徴とする方法。
- 追跡環境内における対象の位置検出システムであって:
各対象用の、固有のバッジIDを含む概略見通し線信号と、固有のバッジIDを含む非概略見通し線信号とを送信可能なバッジと;
前記追跡環境内に分散配置された受信器の配列を備える受信器アセンブリであって、前記受信器の配列が:複数の非概略見通し線信号を受信する受信器の第1のセットを備え、前記受信器アセンブリが高出力の非概略見通し線信号の受信に応じて固有のバッジIDを含む広域検出パケットを生成し、低出力の概略見通し線信号の受信に応じて固有のバッジIDを含む狭域検出パケットを生成し;前記受信器の配列がさらに第2の受信器セットを備え、この第2のセットの受信器はそれぞれ概略見通し線信号を受信し、この概略見通し線信号の受信に応じて固有のバッジIDを含む区切範囲検出パケットを生成する受信器アセンブリと;
前記受信器アセンブリに設けられ前記狭域、広域又は区切範囲検出パケットを集積するデータ通信コントローラと;
前記コントローラに設けられ、前記集積された検出パケットを受信して、前記狭域、広域又は区切範囲検出パケットに含まれるバッジ用の第1及び第2の受信器セットの識別情報に基づいてバッジ及びこれが付された対象の位置を特定する位置検出プロセッサとを備えることを特徴とするシステム。 - 請求項15に記載のシステムにおいて、前記概略見通し線信号及び非概略見通し線信号は電磁信号であることを特徴とするシステム。
- 請求項16に記載のシステムにおいて、前記非概略見通し線信号は無線周波数(RF)信号であり、前記第1のセットの各受信器はRF受信器であることを特徴とするシステム。
- 請求項17に記載のシステムにおいて、前記概略見通し線信号は赤外線(IR)信号であり、前記第2のセットの各受信器はIR受信器であることを特徴とするシステム。
- 請求項18に記載のシステムにおいて、各バッジが、RF信号を送信するRF送信部と、IR信号を送信するIR送信部と、前記RF及びIR信号を固有のバッジIDとともに制御可能に変調する単一のコントローラとを備えることを特徴とするシステム。
- 請求項19に記載のシステムにおいて、前記単一のコントローラがマイクロプロセッサ搭載コントローラであることを特徴とするシステム。
- 請求項18に記載のシステムにおいて、前記受信器アセンブリが、前記RF及びIR受信器に接続され受信したRF及びIR信号を制御可能に復調して前記広域、狭域及び区切範囲検出パケットを取得するコレクタを備えることを特徴とするシステム。
- 請求項21に記載のシステムにおいて、前記コレクタが前記受信したRF及びIR信号を制御可能に復調する単一のマイクロプロセッサを備えることを特徴とするシステム。
- 固有のバッジIDを含む概略見通し線信号と、固有のバッジIDを含む非概略見通し線信号とを送信可能なバッジであって:
間隔が長く高出力で広域の非概略見通し線信号と間隔が短く低出力で狭域の非概略見通し線信号を含む複数の非概略見通し線信号を送信する第1の送信部と;
複数の概略見通し線信号を送信する第2の送信部とを備えることを特徴とするバッジ。 - 請求項23に記載のバッジにおいて、前記概略見通し線信号と非見通し線信号は電磁信号であることを特徴とするバッジ。
- 請求項24に記載のバッジにおいて、前記非概略見通し線信号は無線周波数(RF)信号であることを特徴とするバッジ。
- 請求項25に記載のバッジにおいて、前記概略見通し線信号は赤外線(IR)信号であることを特徴とするバッジ。
- 請求項26に記載のバッジにおいて、前記第1の送信部はRF信号を送信するRF送信部を備え、前記第2の送信部はIR信号を送信するIR送信部を備え、前記バッジがさらに前記RF及びIR信号を固有のバッジIDとともに制御可能に復調する単一のコントローラを備えることを特徴とするバッジ。
- 請求項27に記載のバッジにおいて、前記単一のコントローラはマイクロプロセッサ搭載コントローラであることを特徴とするバッジ。
