Abstract

(a.発明の分野)
本発明は、組織、特にヒト心臓組織を診断および処置するためのカテーテルに関する。特に、本発明は、作動領域を有する遠位部分を備えるカテーテルに関し、そしてこの遠位部分は、診断または処置されるべき組織にこの作動領域を位置決めすることを容易にするように設計されている。
カテーテルは、多年の間、医療手順のために使用されている。カテーテルは、そうでなければ、より侵襲的な手順なくしては接近不能である身体内の特定の位置に配置されながら、検査、診断および処置するための医療手順のために用いられ得る。これらの手順の間に、カテーテルは、身体の表面近傍の脈管中に挿入され、そして検査、診断、および処置のために身体内の特定の位置に導かれる。例えば、1つの手順は、ヒト身体内の選択された位置に電気的刺激を伝達するためにカテーテルを利用する。別の手順は、ヒト身体内で電気的活動の種々の形態をモニターするための感知電極を備えたカテーテルを利用する。

Claims (18)
- カテーテルシャフトを備えるアブレーションカテーテルであって、該カテ−テルシャフトが、
近位部分、および遠位部分を備え、該遠位部分が、アブレーションされるべき組織を有する身体の腔中に挿入されるように適合され、かつ、該近位部分から遠隔に配置され、該遠位部分が、作動領域を有する外部周縁壁を備え、ここで、該遠位部分が、該作動領域に沿って断面形態を有し、そしてここで該断面形態が、該作動領域をアブレーションされるべき組織に対して付勢するように適合されている、アブレーションカテーテル。 - 前記作動領域の前記断面形態が、平坦化された外部周縁壁を含む、請求項1に記載のアブレーションカテーテル。
- 前記作動領域の前記断面形態が、矩形である、請求項2に記載のアブレーションカテーテル。
- 前記作動領域の前記断面形態が、楕円形である、請求項2に記載のアブレーションカテーテル。
- 前記作動領域の前記断面形態が、多角形形態である、請求項2に記載のアブレーションカテーテル。
- 前記多角形形態が、D形状形態、三角形形態、および矩形形態からなる群から選択される、請求項5に記載のアブレーションカテーテル。
- 前記作動領域の前記断面形態が、少なくとも1.5:1のアスペクト比を有するD形状形態である、請求項2に記載のアブレーションカテーテル。
- 組織を診断および処理するためのカテーテルであって、該カテーテルは、近位部分および遠位部分を有するカテーテルシャフトを備え、ここで、該遠位部分が、
長軸方向軸を有する作動領域;および
ワイヤ、光ファイバー、および種々の機能的目的のための流体を保持するように適合された少なくとも1つの管腔を備え、
そして、ここで、該遠位部分が、該作動領域の長軸方向軸を含む少なくとも1つの平面の周りで非対称である、断面形態を有する、カテーテル。 - 前記遠位部分が湾曲している、請求項8に記載のカテーテル。

- 前記D形状の断面形態が、少なくもと1.5:1のアスペクト比を有する、請求項15に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記D形状の断面形態が、2.2:1のアスペクト比を有する、請求項15に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記作動領域が、前記平坦化された外側周縁壁を通る複数のポートホールを含む、請求項15に記載のカテーテル。
