Abstract
【解決手段】物品(10)は、ケイ素含有基体(30)と、本質的にアルカリ土類ケイ酸塩/アルミノケイ酸塩からなる外部バリヤ層(66)を含む、基体(30)を覆う耐蒸気性バリヤ皮膜(42)と、外部バリヤ層(66)を覆いかつ該外部バリヤ層に隣接した耐食性金属ケイ酸塩保護層(74)と含む。また、外部バリヤ層(66)上に耐食性金属ケイ酸塩保護層(74)を形成する方法も提供する。

Description
SiO2+2H2O=Si(OH)4
CMC基体上に形成されたシリカスケールは、酸素の更なる拡散を防止する優れた拡散バリヤを形成することができる。実際に、下にある炭化ケイ素を保護するためにCMC基体で使用される幾つかの皮膜系(システム)では、このシリカスケールは、意図的に基体の事前酸化によって保護層として形成させることができる。しかしながら、上記のようにこのシリカスケール層は、蒸気のような水又は水蒸気の存在下で劣化してSi(OH)4のような揮発性ケイ素種を形成する可能性がある。CMC基体の減損及び質量喪失を引き起こすのは、これらの揮発性ケイ素種の喪失である。

(a)本質的にアルカリ土類ケイ酸塩/アルミノケイ酸塩からなる外部バリヤ層を含む被覆耐蒸気性バリヤ皮膜を有するケイ素含有基体を準備する段階と、
(b)外部バリヤ層上に耐食性金属ケイ酸塩保護層を形成する段階と、を含む。

Claims (10)
- ケイ素含有基体(30)と、
本質的にアルカリ土類ケイ酸塩/アルミノケイ酸塩からなる外部バリヤ層(66)を含む、前記基体(30)を覆う耐蒸気性中間バリヤ皮膜(42)と、
前記外部バリヤ層(66)を覆いかつ該外部バリヤ層に隣接する耐食性金属ケイ酸塩保護層(74)と、
を含むことを特徴とする物品(10)。 - 前記保護層(74)が、25〜254ミクロンの厚さを有する、請求項1記載の物品(10)。
- 前記アルカリ土類ケイ酸塩/アルミノケイ酸塩が、アルミノケイ酸バリウムストロンチウムを含む、請求項1及び請求項2のいずれか1項記載の物品。
- 前記保護層が、少なくとも80%の耐食性金属ケイ酸塩を含む、請求項1から請求項3のいずれか1項記載の物品。
- 前記耐食性金属ケイ酸塩が、ケイ酸イットリウム、ケイ酸スカンジウム、ケイ酸イッテルビウム、ケイ酸ジルコニウム、ケイ酸ハフニウム、希土類金属ケイ酸塩又はそれらの組合せを含む、請求項1から請求項4のいずれか1項記載の物品。
- 前記耐食性金属ケイ酸塩が、ケイ酸イットリウム又はケイ酸ルテチウムを含む、請求項1から請求項5のいずれか1項記載の物品。
- 前記耐蒸気性バリヤ皮膜が、前記ケイ素含有基体を覆いかつ該ケイ素含有基体に隣接する内部層をさらに含み、前記内部層が、ケイ素又はシリカスケールを含みかつ76〜152ミクロンの厚さを有する、請求項1から請求項6のいずれか1項記載の物品
- 前記耐蒸気性バリヤ皮膜が、前記内部層と外部バリヤ層との間に中間層をさらに含み、前記中間層が、シリカ、ケイ素、ムライト、或いはムライトとアルミノケイ酸バリウムストロンチウム、ケイ酸イットリウム又はアルミノケイ酸カルシウムとの混合物を含む、請求項1から請求項7のいずれか1項記載の物品。
- (a)本質的にアルカリ土類ケイ酸塩/アルミノケイ酸塩からなる外部バリヤ層を含む被覆耐蒸気性バリヤ皮膜を有するケイ素含有基体を準備する段階と、
(b)前記外部バリヤ層上に耐食性金属ケイ酸塩保護層を形成する段階と、
を含むむことを特徴とする方法。 - 前記保護層が、76〜127ミクロンの厚さを有し、かつ少なくとも99%のケイ酸イットリウム又はケイ酸ルテチウムを含む、
請求項9記載の方法。
