Abstract
【解決手段】 各々、所定のパターンが備えられ、所定の距離を置いて対向配置された下部基板31及び上部基板21と、下部基板31と上部基板21との間に介装された液晶層38と、下部基板31と液晶層38との間及び上部基板21と液晶層38との間に各々設けられて、液晶の初期配列を決定する配向膜25、37とを有する液晶表示装置において、配向膜により発生するキャパシタンスを減少させ、基板上のパターン間の段差を減少させて残像を改善するために、配向膜37は、内部に気泡Aが形成され、前記液晶層と接する側にある一方の表面が他方の表面よりも平坦に形成されている。

Claims (2)
- 各々、所定のパターンが備えられ、所定の距離を置いて対向配置された下部基板及び上部基板と、
前記下部基板及び前記上部基板の間に介装された液晶層と、
前記下部基板と前記液晶層との間及び前記上部基板と前記液晶層との間に各々設けられて、液晶の初期配列を決定する配向膜とを有する液晶表示装置において、
前記配向膜は、内部に気泡が形成され、前記液晶層と接する側にある一方の表面が他方の表面よりも平坦に形成されていることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 前記配向膜を形成する配向剤は、
所定の方向に液晶を配列させる高分子化合物と、
低粘度及び低比重を有し、かつ、70〜80℃の温度で高揮発性を有する第1ソルベントと、
高比重を有し、かつ、100℃以上の温度で高揮発性を有する第2ソルベントと、を含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
