Abstract
【解決手段】基準電圧生成部30で生成された基準電圧V0が一括調整部40に与えられると、この一括調整部40により、基準電圧V0から基準電流を生成し、この基準電流を、ユーザ設定による輝度調整信号S1により一括輝度調整して一括調整電流Iを生成する。その後、各R、G、B個別調整部50R,50G,50Bにおいて、ユーザ設定による色調整信号S2R,S2G,S2Bにより各R、G、B毎に個別に微調整して個別調整電流IR,IG,IBを生成し、各R、G、B用EL素子13R,13G,13Bを所望の色合いで発光させる。

Description
図2は、本発明の実施例1を示す表示パネル(例えば、パッシブマトリックス構造を有する有機ELパネル)の概略の構成図である。
コントローラ23の制御により、ロウドライバ21によって複数のロウ電極11−1〜11−nが順に走査されると、画像データに対応したレベルの個別駆動電流がカラムドライバ22から出力され、複数のカラム電極12−1〜12−mに順に供給される。これにより、多数のEL素子13が所定の色で発光し、画像データが所望の色で画像表示される。
図1は、図2の有機ELパネルに搭載される実施例1の色合い調整回路を示す概略の構成図である。
基準電圧生成部30から直流の基準電圧V0が出力されて一括調整部40に供給されると、一括調整部40では、ユーザ設定による輝度調整信号S1に基づき、基準電圧V0を変化させ、この変化させた電圧を電流に変換し、安定した一括調整電流Iを生成して各R、G、B個別調整部50R,50G,50Bに与える。各R、G、B個別調整部50R,50G,50Bでは、ユーザ設定による色調整信号S2R,S2G,S2Bに基づき、一括調整電流IをR、G、B毎に微少変化させて微調整し、各R、G、B毎の個別調整電流IR,IG,IBを出力する。
本実施例1では、一括調整部40により、基準電圧V0から基準電流を生成し、この基準電流を、ユーザ設定による輝度調整信号S1により一括輝度調整して一括調整電流Iを生成した後、各R、G、B個別調整部50R,50G,50Bにおいて、ユーザ設定による色調整信号S2R,S2G,S2Bにより各R、G、B毎に個別に微調整して個別調整電流IR,IG,IBを生成し、各R、G、B用EL素子13R,13G,13Bを所望の色合いで発光させるようにしたので、一括調整部40と各R、G、B個別調整部50R,50G,50Bとを回路上分離することで、色合い調整回路全体の回路規模を削減できる。これにより、具体的には次の(a)〜(c)のような効果がある。
図4は、本発明の実施例1における図1の色合い調整回路を具体化した本発明の実施例2を示す色合い調整回路の概略の構成図であり、図1中の要素と共通の要素には共通の符号が付されている。
R調整ブロック80Rは、図4中の他のG、B調整ブロック80G,80Bと同一の構成であり、図1中のR個別調整部50Rと駆動部60Rとで構成されている。
電源31から出力された直流の基準電圧V0は、分圧回路41で複数の電圧に分圧され、この分圧電圧の1つが、ユーザ設定による輝度調整信号S1によりオン状態になる選択回路40内のセレクタ(例えば、42−2)で選択され、基準電圧V1が出力される。この基準電圧V1は、オペアンプ43により電流に変換され、PMOS45により定電流化されて該オペアンプ43の出力端子から一定の一括調整電流Iが出力される。
本実施例2では、実施例1とほぼ同様に、輝度一括調整用の選択回路42と色個別調整用の各R、G、B調整ブロック80R,80G,80Bとを回路上分離することで、色合い調整回路全体の回路規模を削減できる。これにより、実施例1の効果に加えて、次の(d)のような効果もある。
図6は、本発明の実施例1における図1の色合い調整回路を具体化した本発明の実施例3を示す色合い調整回路の概略の構成図であり、実施例1を示す図1及び実施例2を示す図4、図5中の要素と共通の要素には共通の符号が付されている。
R調整ブロック180Rは、図6中の他のG、B調整ブロック180G,180Bと同一の構成であり、図5中の第1のカレントミラー回路51及びスイッチ回路52と異なる構成の第1のカレントミラー回路151及びスイッチ回路152と、図5中のものと同一の第2のカレントミラー回路61、第2のオペアンプ62及びPMOS63とで構成されている。他の構成は、実施例2と同様である。
本実施例3の動作は、図7中のカレントミラー回路151及びスイッチ回路152の動作が実施例2と異なるだけで、基本的な動作は実施例2と同様である。

Claims (4)
- 赤、緑及び青個別の表示素子からなる画素が複数個マトリックス状に配置されたパネル面を有する表示パネルに設けられる、表示パネルの色合い調整回路において、
基準電圧を生成する基準電圧生成部と、
ユーザ設定により与えられる一括輝度調整用の輝度調整信号に基づき、前記基準電圧を変化させてこの変化させた電圧を電流に変換して一括調整電流を生成する一括調整部と、
ユーザ設定により与えられる赤、緑、青個別の色調整信号に基づき、前記一括調整電流を赤、緑、青個別に変化させて微調整し、この微調整後の赤、緑、青個別の個別調整電流をそれぞれ生成する赤、緑、青個別の個別調整部と、
前記各個別調整電流をそれぞれ駆動して赤、緑、青個別の個別駆動電流を生成する駆動部と、
前記各個別駆動電流を出力して前記赤、緑及び青個別の表示素子をそれぞれ発光させる出力段と、
を備えたことを特徴とする表示パネルの色合い調整回路。 - 請求項1記載の表示パネルの色合い調整回路において、
前記一括調整部は、
前記基準電圧を分圧して複数の分圧電圧を生成する分圧回路と、
前記輝度調整信号に基づき、前記複数の分圧電圧から1つの分圧電圧を選択して出力する選択回路と、
第1の演算増幅器を用いて前記1つの分圧電圧を分圧電流に変換し、この分圧電流を抵抗及びトランジスタを用いて定電流化して前記一括調整電流を出力する電流変換・定電流回路とで構成し、
前記各個別調整部は、
前記各色調整信号に基づきオン/オフ動作して前記各個別調整電流を生成する並列接続された複数のトランジスタを有する1:N(但し、Nは任意の正の整数)の比の第1のカレントミラー回路により構成し、
前記駆動部は、
前記第1のカレントミラー回路で生成された前記各個別調整電流を駆動する並列接続された複数のトランジスタを有するN:Nの比の第2のカレントミラー回路と、
前記第2のカレントミラー回路で駆動された前記各個別調整電流を増幅して前記各個別駆動電流を生成する第2の演算増幅器とで構成し、
前記出力段は、
前記各個別駆動電流を出力する並列接続された複数のトランジスタを有するN:Nの比の第3のカレントミラー回路で構成したことを特徴とする表示パネルの色合い調整回路。 - 請求項1記載の表示パネルの色合い調整回路において、
前記一括調整部は、
前記基準電圧を分圧して複数の分圧電圧を生成する分圧回路と、
前記輝度調整信号に基づき、前記複数の分圧電圧から1つの分圧電圧を選択して出力する選択回路と、
第1の演算増幅器を用いて前記1つの分圧電圧を分圧電流に変換し、この分圧電流を抵抗及びトランジスタを用いて定電流化して前記一括調整電流を生成する電流変換・定電流回路とで構成し、
前記各個別調整部は、
前記各色調整信号に基づきオン/オフ動作して前記各個別調整電流を生成する並列接続された複数のトランジスタを有し、該各トランジスタの幅及び長さは同一値にし、レイアウト上、該複数のトランジスタの中央を中心にしてミラー比が異なる該トランジスタを均等に配置してトランジスタ数だけで1:N(但し、Nは任意の正の整数)の比の電流を作り出す第1のカレントミラー回路により構成し、
前記駆動部は、
前記第1のカレントミラー回路で生成された前記各個別調整電流を駆動する並列接続された複数のトランジスタを有するN:Nの比の第2のカレントミラー回路と、
前記第2のカレントミラー回路で駆動された前記各個別調整電流を増幅して前記各個別駆動電流を生成する第2の演算増幅器とで構成し、
前記出力段は、
前記各個別駆動電流を出力する並列接続された複数のトランジスタを有するN:Nの比の第3のカレントミラー回路で構成したことを特徴とする表示パネルの色合い調整回路。 - 請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載の表示パネルの色合い調整回路において、
前記表示素子は、
有機エレクトロルミネッセンス素子であることを特徴とする表示パネルの色合い調整回路。
