Abstract
【解決手段】 プロファイルセンサ7の受光領域100と、スケール板3に配置された光透過/遮断部4とは、受光領域100の幅をW、ラインL1上とラインL2上とに渡って隣り合う光透過/遮断部4の距離をDとした場合に、W/2<D<Wの関係式を満たす。これにより、隣り合う2つの光透過/遮断部4の少なくとも1つは受光領域100上に常に位置する。ここで、各光透過/遮断部4は、移動方向Aに垂直な方向において光の透過/遮断パターンが異なるため、光強度プロファイルデータVY(m)に基づき、受光領域100上に位置する光透過/遮断部4を特定することができる。更に、光強度プロファイルデータVX(n)に基づき、特定された光透過/遮断部4の移動方向Aにおける位置を特定することができる。

Claims (4)
- 移動方向に沿った第1のライン上と第2のライン上とに渡って千鳥状に複数の光透過/遮断部が配置されたスケール板と、
前記光透過/遮断部に光を照射する光源装置と、
前記スケール板を挟んで前記光源装置と対向するように配置され、前記移動方向、及び前記移動方向に垂直な方向に複数の画素が2次元配列された受光領域を有して、前記移動方向、及び前記移動方向に垂直な方向のそれぞれについて入射光強度の1次元分布を示す光強度プロファイルデータを出力する光検出装置とを備え、
前記光透過/遮断部のそれぞれは、前記移動方向に垂直な方向において光の透過及び遮断のパターンが互いに異なっており、
前記受光領域の前記移動方向に沿った幅をWとし、前記第1のライン上と前記第2のライン上とに渡って隣り合う前記光透過/遮断部の前記移動方向に沿った距離をDとした場合に、W/2<D<Wの関係式を満たしていることを特徴とするエンコーダ。 - 前記光透過/遮断部のそれぞれは、前記スケール板に形成される光透過孔の数量、及び前記移動方向に垂直な方向における前記光透過孔の位置の相異によって、前記移動方向に垂直な方向において光の透過及び遮断のパターンが互いに異なっていることを特徴とする請求項1記載のエンコーダ。
- 前記スケール板は回転運動を行い、前記スケール板には、その回転方向を前記移動方向として複数の光透過/遮断部が配置されていることを特徴とする請求項1又は2記載のエンコーダ。
- 前記スケール板は直線運動を行い、前記スケール板には、その直線方向を前記移動方向として複数の光透過/遮断部が配置されていることを特徴とする請求項1又は2記載のエンコーダ。
