Abstract
Description
本発明は、一般的に、塞栓バルーンおよび送出システムに関する。特に、本発明は、血管内マイクロカテーテルによって血管の欠陥部分に送出される塞栓バルーンに関する。
神経血管に一般的に起こる動脈瘤やフィステルなどの血管の欠陥の治療においては、マイクロカテーテルの遠位端が欠陥近傍に届くまで、マイクロカテーテルを患者の血管に通過させる。次いで、マイクロカテーテルを介して血管の欠陥に塞栓材料が送り込まれ、これによって欠陥を埋めて封じる。しかしながら、動脈瘤やフィステルなどの血管の欠陥は、しばしば不規則な形状をしていたり非対称的な容積を持っていたりするため、通常対称的な形状を持つ塞栓コイルや、バルーン、その他の塞栓装置で、その欠陥を正確に、かつ完全に埋めることが困難である。液状塞栓材料は、より正確かつ完全に不規則な形状で非対称的な容積を埋める傾向にあるが、液状塞栓材料は、しばしば、マイクロカテーテルを介して送出することが困難であり、欠陥内に収めておくことが困難である。したがって、非対称で不規則な形状の血管の欠陥を埋めることができ、マイクロカテーテルで容易に送出することができ、また、欠陥内に容易に保持することができる塞栓材料と送出システムが実質的に求められている。
本発明は、例示的な非限定の実施例において、マイクロカテーテルを介した塞栓材料の送出や欠陥における塞栓材料の封じ込めに関連する困難がなく、制御された予測可能な方法で、不規則な形状で非対称的な血管の欠陥を埋めることができる固相塞栓材料を提供するものである。本発明の固相塞栓材料は、液体(例えば、液状塞栓材料)によって膨張して、欠陥の内壁に更に合致し、不規則な形状の欠陥の容積をより完全に埋める。

Claims (11)
- 開始時の固相体積を定義する固相材料であって、その固相体積内へ注入された流体を保持することができるような、粘着性で、自己封印する固相材料を具える塞栓装置。
- 請求項1に記載の塞栓装置において、前記流体が放射線不透過性液を具えることを特徴とする塞栓装置。
- 請求項1又は2に記載の塞栓装置において、前記流体が液状塞栓材料を具えることを特徴とする塞栓装置。
- 請求項1ないし3のいずれかに記載の塞栓装置において、前記固相材料がプレポリマを具えることを特徴とする塞栓装置。
- 請求項1ないし3のいずれかに記載の塞栓装置において、前記固相材料が、ポリマを具えることを特徴とする塞栓装置。
- 請求項1ないし3のいずれかに記載の塞栓装置において、前記固相材料が、ポリマと溶剤の混合物を具えることを特徴とする塞栓装置。
- 近位端と、遠位端、中に延在する内腔を有する細長いカテーテルと;
前記カテーテルの遠位端において前記内腔に配置された固相塞栓材料であって、開始時の固相体積を定義し、前記材料が前記固相体積内に注入される流体を保持することができるように粘着性で自己封印する固相材料を具える固相塞栓材料と;
を具えることを特徴とする塞栓システム。 - 遠位端を具える細長いシャフトと;
可塑的に変形可能な材料を具える膨張可能なバルーンであって、前記シャフトの遠位端に接続された取り外し可能な近位部位を有し、内部を有し、前記バルーンの近位部位が放射線不透過性マーカを含むバルーンと;
を具えることを特徴とする塞栓バルーン装置。 - 請求項8に記載の塞栓バルーン装置において、前記バルーンの近位部位がチェックバルブを具えることを特徴とする塞栓バルーン装置。
- 請求項8に記載の塞栓バルーン装置において、前記バルーンが、前記バルーンの内部に露出した化学イニシエータを含むことを特徴とする塞栓バルーン装置。
- 請求項8に記載の塞栓バルーンが、更に、前記膨張可能なバルーンの近位部位に接続された、バルーンに沿って遠位に向けて延在する複数のリーフレットを具えることを特徴とする塞栓バルーン装置。
