− 前記細胞集団を試験化合物に接触させることと、
− 前記試験化合物に接触させた前記細胞集団中に存在するIFN−αの量を測定することと、
− 前記試験化合物に接触させた前記細胞集団中に存在する炎症性サイトカインの量を測定することと、

- IFN−αに反応する患者の病気に影響を及ぼす方法であって、
− 炎症性サイトカイン産生細胞とpDC2細胞の両方を含む細胞集団を取得することと、
− 前記細胞集団を試験化合物に接触させることと、
− 前記試験化合物に接触させた前記細胞集団中に存在するIFN−αの量を測定することと、
− 前記試験化合物に接触させた前記細胞集団中に存在する炎症性サイトカインの量を測定することと、
− 前記試験化合物との接触後にIFN−αが、前記細胞集団中に存在する炎症性サイトカインの量よりも少なくとも3倍の量だけ前記細胞集団中に存在する場合に、前記試験化合物をIFN−αの選択誘導物質として同定することと、
− 前記同定済み選択化合物を患者に投与して患者の病気に影響を及ぼすことからなるステップを含む、病気に影響を及ぼす方法。 - IFN−αの量と炎症性サイトカインの量を、ELISAまたは生物検定法を用いて培養上清から測定する、請求項20に記載の方法。
- IFN−αの量と炎症性サイトカインの量を、ドットブロット法、ウエスタンブロット法、ノーザンブロット法、RPA、およびRT−PCRからなる群より選ばれた方法を用いて、前記集団中の細胞から測定する、請求項20に記載の方法。
- 前記炎症性サイトカインがTNF−αおよび/またはIL−1を含んでいる、請求項20に記載の方法。
- 前記細胞集団が全血中のものである請求項20に記載の方法。
- 前記細胞集団が末梢血単核細胞を含んでいる請求項20に記載の方法。
- 前記細胞集団が末梢血単核細胞の分画を含んでいる請求項20に記載の方法。
- 前記細胞集団を、約0.005〜5μMの範囲の濃度の前記試験化合物と接触させる、請求項20に記載の方法。
- 前記細胞集団を、約12〜36時間の間、前記試験化合物を加えて培養する、請求項20に記載の方法。
- 前記細胞集団がCD14+細胞型またはDC1細胞型を含んでいる請求項20に記載の方法。
- 前記炎症性サイトカインがTNF−αであり、前記CD14+またはDC1細胞によって産生されるTNF−αの量は、前記試験化合物が約1μMの濃度で前記細胞と接触しているときには検出不可能である、請求項29に記載の方法。
- 前記病気が、黒色腫、骨髄性白血病、非ホジキンリンパ腫、腎細胞癌、カポジ肉腫、多発性硬化症、好酸球増加症候群、筋増殖性疾患、特発性骨髄線維症、B型肝炎と慢性C型肝炎、天然痘、インフルエンザ、パラインフルエンザ、アデノウイルス、コロナウイルス、およびライノウイルスからなる群より選ばれる、請求項20に記載の方法。
- 前記病気が、皮膚壊死性脈管炎、混合性クリオグロブリン血症、晩発性皮膚ポルフィリン症、扁平苔癬、アダマンティアディス−ベーチェット症候群、多形性紅斑、結節性紅斑、マラコプラキア、じんま疹、およびそう痒症からなる群より選ばれる、請求項31に記載の方法。
- 前記選択化合物が、標的部分によって所望の細胞型へ届けられる、請求項20に記載の方法。
- pDC2細胞を含んでいる細胞集団からIFN−αの産生を選択的に誘導する方法であって、前記細胞集団を、pDC2細胞によるIFN−αの産生を選択的に誘導する免疫応答変更因子化合物と接触させることを含む、選択的に誘導する方法。
- 前記化合物が化合物Iである請求項34に記載の方法。
- 前記化合物が化合物IIである請求項34に記載の方法。
- 前記化合物が化合物IIIである請求項34に記載の方法。
- 前記化合物が化合物IVである請求項34に記載の方法。
- 前記化合物が化合物Vである請求項34に記載の方法。
- 前記化合物が化合物VIである請求項34に記載の方法。
