Abstract
【解決手段】時間経過に伴って電圧値が増大する第1リセットパルスを行電極に印加して行電極対を為す行電極間に第1リセット放電を生起させることにより表示セル内に壁電荷を形成した後に、サスティンパルスよりもパルス電圧の低い第2リセットパルスを行電極に印加して行電極対を為す行電極間に第2リセット放電を生起させることにより表示セル内の壁電荷の量を調整する。

Claims (2)
- 表示ラインに対応した複数の行電極対と前記行電極対に交叉して配列された複数の列電極との交叉部に画素を担う表示セルが形成されている表示パネルの駆動方法であって、
前記表示セル各々内の壁電荷の量を初期化するリセット行程と、前記行電極対の一方の行電極に走査パルスを印加しつつ入力映像信号に対応したデータパルスを前記列電極の各々に印加して前記表示セル各々に対して選択的にアドレス放電を生起させることにより前記壁電荷の形成又は前記壁電荷の消去を行うアドレス行程と、前記行電極対における行電極の各々に交互にサスティンパルスを印加することにより前記壁電荷の形成されている前記表示セルのみをサスティン放電させるサスティン行程と、を備え、
前記リセット行程は、時間経過に伴って電圧値が増大する第1リセットパルスを前記行電極に印加して前記行電極対を為す行電極間に第1リセット放電を生起させることにより前記壁電荷の形成を行う第1リセット行程と、
前記サスティンパルスよりもパルス電圧の低い第2リセットパルスを前記行電極に印加して前記行電極対を為す行電極間に第2リセット放電を生起させることにより前記壁電荷の量を調整する第2リセット行程と、を含むことを特徴とする表示パネルの駆動方法。 - 前記第2リセットパルスのパルス電圧値と前記走査パルスの振幅値とが互いに同一であることを特徴とする請求項1記載の表示パネルの駆動方法。
