Abstract
【解決手段】 ハウジング内に内筒部材を収容するエアバッグ用ガス発生器であって、当該内筒部材は、ハウジングの内周面に当接する第2外径部分と、この第2外径部分よりも小さい外径の第1外径部分とを有し、且つ当該第1外径部分側の先端をハウジングの閉塞側端部(一端部)に当接しており、前記フィルタは、前記内筒部材の第1外径部分の径方向外側に設けられ、前記点火手段は、前記ハウジングの閉塞側端部の反対側端部(他端部)に設けられる、エアバッグ用ガス発生器。

Description
周面に1又は2以上のガス排出口を有し且つ少なくとも一端部が閉塞された筒状ハウジング内に、ガス発生剤の収容空間を内部に画定する内筒部材と、ガス発生剤の燃焼によって生じるガスを浄化するフィルタと、前記収容空間に収容されるガス発生剤を着火・燃焼させる点火手段とを含んで収容してなるエアバッグ用ガス発生器であって、
前記内筒部材は、第1外径部分と、この第1外径部分よりも大きく且つハウジングの内周面に当接する外径に形成された第2外径部分とを有すると共に、当該第1外径部分側の先端をハウジングの閉塞側端部(一端部)に当接しており、
前記フィルタは、前記内筒部材の第1外径部分の径方向外側に設けられ、
前記点火手段は、前記ハウジングの閉塞側端部の反対側端部(他端部)に設けられる、エアバッグ用ガス発生器を提供する。

Claims (8)
- 周面に1又は2以上のガス排出口を有し且つ少なくとも一端部が閉塞された筒状ハウジング内に、ガス発生剤の収容空間を内部に画定する内筒部材と、ガス発生剤の燃焼によって生じるガスを浄化するフィルタと、前記収容空間に収容されるガス発生剤を着火・燃焼させる点火手段とを含んで収容してなるエアバッグ用ガス発生器であって、
前記内筒部材は、第1外径部分と、この第1外径部分よりも大きく且つハウジングの内周面に当接する外径に形成された第2外径部分とを有すると共に、当該第1外径部分側の先端をハウジングの閉塞側端部(一端部)に当接しており、
前記フィルタは、前記内筒部材の第1外径部分の径方向外側に設けられ、
前記点火手段は、前記ハウジングの閉塞側端部の反対側端部(他端部)に設けられる、エアバッグ用ガス発生器。 - 前記ガス発生剤の収容空間は、相互連通可能として軸方向に隣り合う2つの燃焼室からなり、前記ハウジングの閉塞側端部(一端部)には第1燃焼室が、ハウジングの閉塞側端部の反対側端部(他端部)には第2燃焼室が、それぞれ設けられ、
前記点火手段は第2燃焼室内に設けられると共に、第1燃焼室及び第2燃焼室に充填されるガス発生剤は、各燃焼室間において相互に、充填量、組成、組成比、サイズ、形状のうち、少なくとも1つが異なる請求項1記載のエアバッグ用ガス発生器。 - 前記第1燃焼室に配置されるガス発生剤は燃焼温度1000〜1700℃であり、第2燃焼室に配置されるガス発生剤は、燃焼温度1700〜3000℃である請求項2記載のエアバッグ用ガス発生器。
- 前記ハウジングは、軸方向に長尺に形成された筒状であって、前記内筒部材には、ガス発生剤の収容空間と内筒部材の外部環境との相互連通を果たし得る1又は2以上の開口が、第1外径部分における前記ハウジング閉塞一端部寄りの周面に局所的に偏在して形成されている請求項1〜3の何れか一項記載のエアバッグ用ガス発生器。
- 前記内筒部材には、前記第1外径部分と第2外径部分との間に更に第3外径部分が存在しており、当該第3外径部分の外径は、該第1外径部分よりも大きく、第2外径部分よりも小さい請求項1〜4の何れか一項記載のエアバッグ用ガス発生器。
- 前記点火手段は、着火電流により作動する点火器を含んで構成され、当該点火器は、前記ハウジングにおける閉塞側端部の反対側端部(開放側端部)を閉塞するカラー部材に取り付けられ、当該カラー部材には、内筒部材の第2外径部分側の端部が当接している請求項1〜5の何れか一項記載のエアバッグ用ガス発生器。
- 前記点火手段は、着火電流により作動する点火器を含んで構成され、当該点火器は、前記ハウジングにおける閉塞側端部の反対側端部(開放側端部)を閉塞するカラー部材に取り付けられ、前記ハウジングには、その内周面に突起部が形成されており、当該突起部には前記内筒部材の第2外径部分側の端部及び前記カラー部材が当接している請求項1〜5の何れか一項記載のエアバッグ用ガス発生器。
- 前記ハウジングに設けられるガス排出口は、ハウジングの軸方向中央よりも点火手段が配置される側寄りに形成されている請求項1〜7の何れか一項記載のエアバッグ用ガス発生器。
