Abstract
【解決手段】 OLEDデバイスへ感湿性有機材料を転写する際に用いられる低水分ドナー要素であって、
(a)低水分透明支持体;
(b)該要素の吸収効率を高める任意の吸収体反射防止層;
(c)該低水分透明支持体の上に設けられた吸熱性金属層;および
(d)該支持体の上に設けられた1または2以上の伝熱性有機層からなる有機転写層
を含んで成る低水分ドナー要素。

Description
(a)低水分透明支持体;
(b)該要素の吸収効率を高める任意の吸収体反射防止層;
(c)該低水分透明支持体の上に設けられた吸熱性金属層;および
(d)該支持体の上に設けられた1または2以上の伝熱性有機層からなる有機転写層
を含んで成る低水分ドナー要素によって達成される。
ここで図1を参照する。低水分ドナー要素10は、低水分透明支持体12の上に任意の接着剤層または表面処理14を施工してなる。次いで、任意の吸収体反射防止層16を適用し、その後に吸熱性金属層18を適用する。有機転写層28と吸熱性金属層18とが相互作用しないことを確実にするため、任意の分離層20を使用してもよい。ここまで説明した要素を低水分ドナー基板26と称する。有機転写層28は1または2以上の有機材料からなる。該有機材料は、低水分ドナー要素10の非被覆面24に入射するレーザーその他の輻射線22に応じてOLEDのようなデバイスへ転写されることになる。
PVDF樹脂の押出体である厚さ3ミル(76.2μm)のKynar(商標)支持体(Westlake Plastics社製)を使用することにより好適な態様である低水分ドナーを調製した。PVDFは、本発明の定義により、低水分透明支持体である。長さ約10mのPVDFをアルミニウム製心材に巻き付けてロール体にし、これを図2に示したウェブ輸送の供給ローラーに配置した。輸送全体をガラス鐘形真空コーター内に配置した。コーターを排気してその基準圧力を8×10-7トルにした。真空状態で1時間経過後、支持体を供給ローラーと巻取りローラーの間で輸送させた際に目立った圧力上昇は認められなかった。このことは、当該ロール体の内部が巻き出されて新たに真空に暴露された際にそこから発生する水分量が有意ではないことを示唆するものである。このような挙動は、ポリスルホン、ポリイミド、PETまたはPENのような典型的な高水分透明支持体の挙動とは極めて対照的であった。高水分透明支持体のロール体を真空コーターに配置した場合、ウェブの輸送時には常時、基準圧力が10-5トルを上回ることとなる。この問題は、ロール状支持体を真空下、80℃で4日間(PET、PEN)または120℃で1日(ポリスルホン、ポリイミド)、ベーキング処理することにより解決された。

Claims (7)
- OLEDデバイスへ感湿性有機材料を転写する際に用いられる低水分ドナー要素であって、
(a)低水分透明支持体;
(b)該要素の吸収効率を高める吸収体反射防止層;
(c)該低水分透明支持体の上に設けられた吸熱性金属層;および
(d)該支持体の上に設けられた1または2以上の伝熱性有機層からなる有機転写層
を含んで成る低水分ドナー要素。 - 該支持体が、ポリメチルペンテン、ポリエチレンもしくはポリプロピレンのようなポリオレフィン;ポリフッ化ビニリデンもしくはポリテトラフルオロエチレンのようなフッ素化炭化水素;環状オレフィンポリマー;または環状オレフィンコポリマーを含む、請求項1に記載のドナー要素。
- OLEDデバイスへ感湿性有機材料を転写する際に用いられるドナー要素であって、
(a)低水分透明支持体;
(b)該要素の吸収効率を高める吸収体反射防止層;
(c)該低水分透明支持体の上に設けられた吸熱性金属層;および
(d)該支持体の上に設けられた1または2以上の伝熱性有機層からなる有機転写層
を含んで成るドナー要素。 - さらに、密着性を高めるため該低水分透明支持体に接着剤層または表面処理を施した、請求項3に記載のドナー要素。
- 該接着剤層または表面処理が、コロナ放電処理(CDT)またはプラズマ表面処理(PST)を含む、請求項4に記載のドナー要素。
- 該接着剤層が、金属または誘電体を付着させた厚さ10nm未満の層を含む、請求項4に記載のドナー要素。
- 該接着剤層が、金属または誘電体を付着させた厚さ10nm未満の層を含む、請求項5に記載のドナー要素。
