Abstract
【課題】 半透過モードの液晶表示装置において均一な光の経路を有する色フィルター表示板及びこれを含む半透過モードの液晶表示装置を提供する。
【解決手段】 下部基板には互いに交差し行列配列の単位画素領域を定義するゲート線及びデータ線が形成されており、それぞれの画素領域には配線と連結されている薄膜トランジスタと薄膜トランジスタと電気的に連結され透明な導電膜からなる透明電極と反射率を有する導電膜から構成され透過領域に透過窓を有する反射電極からなる画素電極が形成されている。下部基板と対向する上部基板には、画素領域に開口部を有するブラックマトリックスが形成されており、それぞれの画素領域には赤、緑、青の色フィルターが各々形成され、その上部には保護膜が形成されている。この時、保護膜はそれぞれの画素領域に厚さが異なる二つの部分から構成され、透過領域に対応する第1の部分は他の第2の部分より薄い厚さを有する。

Claims (18)
- 基板と、
前記基板上に形成されている色フィルターと、
前記色フィルターを覆い位置によって異なる厚さを有する保護膜を含む液晶表示装置用色フィルター表示板。 - 内装光源を主に利用して画像を表示する前記第1表示領域と、液晶表示装置が主に外部光を利用して画像を表示する第2表示領域を含む請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置用色フィルター表示板。
- 前記第1表示領域の保護膜が前記第2表示領域の保護膜より薄い請求項2に記載の液晶表示装置用色フィルター表示板。
- 前記保護膜は前記第1表示領域を除く位置に設けられる請求項3に記載の液晶表示装置用色フィルター表示板。
- 前記第1表示領域の色フィルターが前記第2表示領域の色フィルターより厚い請求項2に記載の液晶表示装置用色フィルター表示板。
- 前記色フィルターは第1の部分と第2の部分を含み、前記第1の部分は前記第2の部分より厚い請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置用色フィルター表示板。
- 前記色フィルターの周縁付近に位置したブラックマトリックスをさらに含む請求項6に記載の液晶表示装置用色フィルター表示板。
- 前記色フィルターは前記第1の部分より厚く、前記色フィルターの周縁付近に位置した第3部分をさらに含む請求項7に記載の液晶表示装置用色フィルター表示板。
- 前記色フィルターの第3部分は前記ブラックマトリックスと少なくとも一部重なっている請求項8に記載の液晶表示装置用色フィルター表示板。
- 前記基板上に設けられた共通電極をさらに含む請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置用色フィルター表示板。
- 位置によって異なる厚さを有する保護膜を備える第1表示板と、
透明電極及び前記透明電極上に開口部を有する反射電極を有する電界生成電極を含み前記色フィルター表示板と対向する第2表示板を含む半透過型液晶表示装置。 - 前記保護膜は第1の部分と前記第1の部分より厚い第2の部分を含み、前記第1の部分は前記開口部と対向する請求項11に記載の半透過型液晶表示装置。
- 前記第1の部分の前記保護膜は厚さを有しない請求項12に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記透明電極が前記反射電極下に位置する請求項11に記載の半透過型液晶表示装置。
- 前記反射電極は屈曲形態を有する請求項11に記載の半透過型液晶表示装置。
- 前記第2表示板はゲート線及びデータ線と前記ゲート線、前記データ線及び前記透明電極に連結されている薄膜トランジスタをさらに含む請求項11に記載の半透過型液晶表示装置。
- 前記第1表示板は位置によって異なる厚さを有する色フィルターをさらに含む請求項11に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記色フィルターの周縁付近に位置したブラックマトリックスをさらに含む請求項17に記載の液晶表示装置。
