織および細胞への毒性の副作用のため、および癌細胞に対するこれらの治療様式
の特異性の制約のために、効果が限られている。癌病巣部位に同位体、薬剤およ
び毒素などの毒性の物質を標的化するために抗癌抗体を使用する場合にも、それ
らは、全身系の物質として骨髄などの敏感な細胞区画にも循環するので、この制
約は重要である。急性の放射線傷害では、リンパ系および造血コンパートメント
の破壊が敗血症の発症およびその後の死亡の主要な要因である。

ずかしか標的部位に結合せず、抱合体の大部分は血液循環(circulation)中に
残存し、標的化された抱合体の働きを何らかの形で妨害することである。診断薬
の抱合体、例えば、ラジオイムノシンチグラフィまたは核磁気共鳴画像形成用の
抱合体の場合には、血液循環中に残存する標的化されない抱合体がバックグラウ
ンドを増加させ、分解能を低下することがある。例えば、放射性同位体、薬剤、
毒素のような非常に毒性の強い治療薬が、抗体などの長時間循環する標的部分に
結合された治療用抱合体の場合には、循環するの抱合体が、宿主に対する骨髄毒
性または全身副作用などの許容されない毒性を生じることがある。

に投与するステップを含むことを特徴とする、病原体に暴露された患者を治療す
る方法。 - 【請求項2】 前記病原体が寄生体であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記
載の方法。 - 【請求項3】 前記病原体が非ウィルス起源の感染性の因子であることを特
徴とする、請求項1に記載の方法。 - 【請求項4】 前記病原体が微生物であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記
載の方法。 - 【請求項5】 前記微生物がバクテリアであることを特徴とする、請求項4
に記載の方法。 - 【請求項6】 前記微生物が真菌であることを特徴とする、請求項4に記載
の方法。 - 【請求項7】 前記真菌がクリプトコッカス属のものであることを特徴とす
る、請求項6に記載の方法。 - 【請求項8】 前記真菌がクリプトコッカス ネオフォルマンスであること
を特徴とする、請求項7に記載の方法。 - 【請求項9】 前記病原体がウィルスであることを特徴とする、請求項1に
記載の方法。 - 【請求項10】 前記ウィルスがヒト免疫不全ウィルス(HIV)であること

であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の方法。 - 【請求項14】 リポポリサッカライド(LPS)またはリンホトキシンに対
する少なくとも1つの特異性と、HLAクラスII不変鎖(Ii)に対する少なくとも1
つの特異性とを有する有効量の多価分子を、治療を必要としている患者に投与す
るステップを含むことを特徴とする、敗血症性ショックを治療または予防する方

あって、薬剤に対する少なくとも1つの特異性と、HLAクラスII不変鎖(Ii)に
対する少なくとも1つの特異性とを有する有効量の多価分子を患者に投与するス
