Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.少なくとも1つの基地局(100)を備え、基地局は、全セルエリア(11 0)中に広がる放射パターン、及び、セルエリア(112−116)の一部分 のみをカバーする指向性放射パターンを放射することによって、基地局のエリ ア内の端末(102−106)と通信し、また、基地局は、共通制御チャネル で基地局関連情報を端末に伝送するような無線システムにおいて伝送方向を検 知する方法において、 基地局によって伝送される基地局関連情報は、汎用部分及びビーム特定部分 を含み、 基地局は、汎用部分を伝送する時に全セルエリア中に広がる放射パターン( 110)を使用し、 各々のビーム特定部分は、特定放射パターン(112−116)を使用する ことによって伝送され、 端末は、1もしくは1よりも多数のビーム特定部分を、基地局から受信され た情報から検知し、検知結果に関する情報を基地局に伝送し、 基地局は、その情報に基づいて、端末と通信する時にどの指向性放射パター ンを使用するかを決定することを特徴とする方法。 2.基地局によって伝送される基地局関連情報のビーム特定部分は、基地局によ って伝送される各々の指向性放射パターンで異なるコードを含む請求項1に記 載の方法。 3.端末は、1もしくは1よりも多数の検知されたビーム特定識別子に関する情 報を基地局に伝送する請求項1に記載の方法。 4.基地局は、フレーム構成形式で基地局関連情報を伝送し、フレームは、汎用 部分とビーム特定部分とを含み、 基地局は、フレームの汎用部分を伝送する時に全セルエリア中に広がる放射 パターンを使用し、 フレームの各々のビーム特定部分は、特定の指向性放射パターンを使用する ことによって伝送される請求項1に記載の方法。 5.フレームは、ビーム特定部分として使用されるトレーニングシーケンスを含 む請求項4に記載の方法。 6.基地局は、アンテナを介して伝送される信号をフェージングすることによっ て、いくつかの要素から構成されるアンテナを使用して、全セルエリア中に広 がる放射パターン及び指向性放射パターンを形成する請求項1に記載の方法。 7.指向性放射パターンは、狭いビームの放射パターンである請求項1から請求 項6のいずれか1項に記載の方法。 8.符号分割多元接続がシステムにおいて使用される請求項1に記載の方法。 9.各々のビーム特定部分は、異なる拡散コードから構成される請求項8に記載 の方法。 10.汎用部分及びビーム特定部分が、同一の拡散コードを使用することによって 、しかし、異なる位相で伝送される請求項8に記載の方法。 11.少なくとも1つの基地局を備え、基地局はそのエリア内の端末と通信し、基 地局は、全セルエリア中に広がる放射パターン、及び、セルエリアの一部のみ をカバーする指向性放射パターンを放射するための手段(232a、232b 、234)、及び、共通制御チャネルで基地局関連情報を端末に伝送するため の手段(232a、232b、234、220)を備えるような無線システム において、 基地局は、汎用部分及びビーム特定部分を含む基地局関連情報を伝送するよ うにされ、 基地局は、汎用部分を伝送する時に全セルエリア中に広がる放射パターンを 使用するための手段(232a、232b、234)、及び、 特定の指向性放射パターンを使用することによって、各々のビーム特定部分 を伝送するための手段(232a、232b、234)を備え、 端末は、1もしくは1よりも多数のビーム特定部分を、基地局から受信され た情報から検知するための手段(716、718)、及び、検知結果に関する 情報を基地局に伝送するための手段(702−706、718)を備え、 基地局は、その情報に基づいて、端末と通信する時にどの指向性放射パター ンを使用するかを決定するための手段(218、234)を備えることを特徴 とする無線システム。 12.基地局は、いくつかの要素から構成されるアンテナアレー(200a、20 0b、232a、232b)、及び、指向性放射パターンを形成するためにア ンテナを介して伝送される信号をフェージングするための手段(218、23 4)を備える請求項11に記載の無線システム。 13.基地局は、基地局関連情報のビーム特定部分を、それが基地局によって伝送 される各々の指向性放射パターンで異なるコードを含むように形成するための 手段(220、234)を備える請求項11に記載の無線システム。
