水性かつアルカリ性の過酸素漂白剤含有組成物
技術分野
本発明は水性かつアルカリ性の過酸素漂白剤含有組成物、より具体的には安定
化ならびに緩衝化された組成物に関する。
発明の背景
水性の家庭用洗剤組成物には、長年にわたり硬質面および/または布地の漂白
および/または殺菌の目的に漂白剤が使用されてきた。次亜塩素酸塩漂白剤は、
非常に効果的かつ安価であるので、この目的のために最も広く用いられてきた。
次亜塩素酸塩の使用に伴う欠点は、安全特性に関して十分満足のいくものではな
いものとして消費者に知られていることである。
過酸素漂白剤を含んでなる水性組成物は、効果的な漂白性能および/または殺
菌性能を発揮し、かつ次亜塩素酸塩ベースの組成物に比べて刺激が少ないものと
して消費者に知られているとはいえ、概して家庭向け市場ではあまり利用されて
いなかった。例えば、過酸化水素はその分解生成物が酸素と水であるため、一般
に環境的に許容できるものと認められている。家庭用における使用の欠如は、一
部は水性過酸素漂白剤含有組成物の不安定さに起因するものと考えられる。この
不安定性は、アルカリ性媒質中において特に顕著であり、これは媒質中で組成物
自体の中および/または組成物を水で希釈して得られる洗浄液の中で生じる金属
イオンの汚染によって主にもたらされる。
さらに、そのような水性過酸素漂白剤含有組成物が効果的な漂白性および/ま
たは殺菌性をもたらすとはいえ、それらは脂汚れを効果的には除去しない。それ
ゆえ、液状水性過酸素漂白剤ベースの組成物には脂汚れ除去性能をさらに改善す
る若干の余地が未だにあることになる。
したがって、本発明の目的は、脂汚れの除去に効果的で、化学的により安定で
、かつ効果的な殺菌性能をもたらす、液状水性過酸素漂白剤含有組成物を提供す
ることにある。
いまやこれらの目的は、過酸素漂白剤、遊離基捕捉剤と、キレート化剤および
pH緩衝剤とを含んでなり、pHが8を超える液状の水性かつアルカリ性の組成
物を配合することにより達成できることが分かった。
実際、驚くべきことに、好ましくはホスホネート/アミノホスホネートキレー
ト化剤であるキレート化剤と、好ましくはジ−t−ブチルヒドロキシトルエン(
BHT)および/またはブチルヒドロキシアニソール(BHA)である遊離基捕
捉剤と、好ましくはボレートpH緩衝剤であるpH緩衝剤とを、アルカリ性で水
性の過酸素漂白剤含有組成物中で併用することにより、長期の貯蔵期間にわたっ
て、pHおよび過酸素漂白剤の安定性の双方が維持されることが知見された。さ
らに、このたび、キレート化剤、遊離基捕捉剤およびpH緩衝剤を含んでなる、
そのような水性過酸素漂白剤含有組成物を8を超えるpHで配合することにより
、効果的な殺菌性能をもたらしつつ改良された脂汚れ除去性能が導かれることが
分かった。
本発明による組成物は、硬質面、布地、衣類、カーペット等のような非生物表
面ならびに、人の皮膚、口等のような生物表面を包含するあらゆる種類の表面に
用いるのに適する。本発明の組成物の好ましい用途は、硬質面用途および/また
は洗濯用途、例えば洗濯洗剤、洗濯添加剤、またはさらに洗濯前処理剤のような
用途、である。より具体的には、本発明による組成物の利点は、繊細な表面に用
いるのに適していることである。実際、本発明による組成物を洗濯用途に用いた
場合、同じ組成物で前記キレート化剤および/または遊離基捕捉剤を含まないも
のと比較して、布地の損傷および/または色の損傷は減少する。
本発明の水性組成物は、抗菌化合物、好ましくは抗菌精油および/またはその
活性種を含んでいてもよく、これはさらに組成物の殺菌性能に寄与する。このよ
うな組成物の利点は、グラム陽性およびグラム陰性の菌種を包含する広範囲の菌
種だけでなく、さらに抵抗力のある真菌のような微生物に対しても、高い希釈レ
ベル、例えば最大で1:100(組成物:水)の希釈レベル、においてさえ有効
な殺菌作用がもたらされるということである。
本発明の水性組成物はまた、前記組成物の総合的汚れ除去性能にさらに寄与す
る、少なくとも1種の界面活性剤および/または少なくとも1種の溶媒を含んで
なることができる。
背景技術
EP−B−209 228号明細書には、pH1〜8を有し、かつ過酸素成分
(例えば過酸化水素)、金属キレート化剤(例えばアミノホスホネート)および遊
離基捕捉剤(例えばジ−t−ブチルヒドロキシトルエン)を含んでなる、安定化
されたペルオキシド組成物が開示されている。
発明の概要
本発明は、8を超えるpHを有する安定な液状水性洗浄組成物であって、かつ
過酸素漂白剤、遊離基捕捉剤、キレート化剤およびpH緩衝剤を含んでなるもの
を包含するものである。
本発明の好ましい実施態様において、組成物はさらに抗菌精油および/または
その活性種の如き抗菌化合物を含んでなる。
本発明の他の好ましい実施態様において、組成物はさらに溶媒および/または
界面活性剤を含んでなる。
発明の詳細な説明
第一の必須成分として、本発明による組成物は、過酸素漂白剤またはその混合
物を含んでなる。好ましい過酸素漂白剤は、過酸化水素、もしくはその水溶性供
給源、またはそれらの混合物である。過酸化水素が、本発明による組成物に用い
るのに最も好ましい。
過酸素漂白剤、特に過酸化水素、の本発明の組成物中での存在が、前記組成物
の殺菌性および/または漂白性に寄与するものと考えられる。
本発明に用いる過酸化水素源には、前記化合物が水と接触したときペルヒドロ
キシルイオンを生成するあらゆる化合物が当てはまる。本発明に用いるのに適す
る過酸化水素の水溶性発生源には、ペルカルボネート、ペルシリケート、ペルサ
ルフェート例えばモノペルサルフェート、ペルボレート、過酸例えばジペルオキ
シドデカン二酸(DPDA)、マグネシウム過フタル酸、ジアルキルペルオキシド
、ジアシルペルオキシド、予め生成した過カルボン酸、有機および無機ペルオキ
シドおよび/またはヒドロペルオキシドまたはそれらの混合物が包含される。
典型的に本発明の組成物は、前記過酸素漂白剤またはその混合物を、全組成物
の0.01%〜15重量%、好ましくは0.1%〜10%、より好ましくは0.
5%〜8%、そして最も好ましくは0.3%〜5%、含んでなる。
第二の必須成分として、本発明による組成物は、キレート化剤またはその混合
物を含んでなる。本発明に用いるのに適するキレート化剤は、ホスホネートキレ
ート化剤、アミノホスホネートキレート化剤、置換ヘテロ芳香族キレート化剤、
およびそれらの混合物からなる群から選択される。
本発明に用いるのに適するホスホネートキレート化剤は、エチドロン酸(1−
ヒドロキシエチレン−ジホスホン酸(HEDP))、および/またはアルカリ金属
エタン1−ヒドロキシジホスホネートを包含する。
本発明に用いるのに適するアミノホスホネートキレート化剤には、アミノアル
キレンポリ(アルキレンホスホネート)、ニトリロトリス(メチレン)トリホスホ
ネート、エチレンジアミンテトラメチレンホスホネート、および/またはジエチ
レントリアミンペンタメチレンホスホネートが包含される。
これらのホスホネート/アミノホスホネートキレート化剤は、それらの酸の形
態、またはその一部もしくは全ての酸官能基における種々のカチオンの塩のいず
れの形態で存在してもよい。このようなホスホネート/アミノホスホネートキレ
ート化剤は、MonsantoからDEQUEST(商品名)の商品名で商業的
に入手できる。
本発明に用いる置換ヘテロ芳香族キレート化剤は、ヒドロキシピリジン−N−
オキシドまたはその誘導体を包含する。
本発明に従って用いるのに適するヒドロキシピリジンN−オキシドおよびその
誘導体は次の式による:
式中Xは窒素、Yは以下の、酸素、−CHO、−OH、−(CH2)n−COO
H(式中nは0〜20の整数、好ましくは0〜10の整数、そしてより好ましく
は0である)からなる群の1つで、かつ式中Yは好ましくは酸素である。したが
って本発明に用いるのに特に好ましいヒドロキシピリジンN−オキシドおよびそ
の誘導体は、2−ヒドロキシピリジンN−オキシドである。
ヒドロキシピリジンN−オキシドおよびその誘導体は、Sigmaから商業的
に入手してもよい。
これらのキレート化剤、特に1−ヒドロキシエチレンジホスホン酸のようなホ
スホネートキレート化剤は、これらが過酸素漂白剤(例えば過酸化水素)を含ん
でなる本発明の組成物の化学的安定性のみならず前記組成物の殺菌性にも寄与す
ることが見いだされているために、本発明による組成物に特に好ましい。
キレート化剤またはその混合物は、典型的に本発明の組成物中に、全組成物の
0.001重量%〜10重量%、好ましくは0.005重量%〜5重量%、そし
てより好ましくは0.01重量%〜2重量%、のレベルで存在する。
第三の必須成分として、本発明による組成物は、遊離基捕捉剤またはその混合
物を含んでなる。本発明に用いるのに適する遊離基捕捉剤は、よく知られている
置換モノおよびジヒドロキシベンゼンならびにそれらの誘導体、アルキル−およ
びアリールカルボキシレートならびにそれらの誘導体を包含する。本発明に用い
る好ましい遊離基捕捉剤には、ジ−t−ブチルヒドロキシトルエン(BHT)、p
−ヒドロキシ−トルエン、ヒドロキノン(HQ)、ジ−t−ブチルヒドロキノン(
DTBHQ)、モノ−t−ブチルヒドロキノン(MTBHQ)、t−ブチル−ヒド
ロキシアニソール(BHA)、p−ヒドロキシ−アニソール、安息香酸、2,5−
ジヒドロキシ安息香酸、2,5−ジヒドロキシテレフタル酸、トルイル酸、カテ
コール、t−ブチルカテコール、4−アリル−カテコール、4−アセチルカテコ
ール、2−メトキシ−フェノール、2−エトキシ−フェノール、2−メトキシ−
4−(2−プロペニル)フェノール、3,4−ジヒドロキシベンズアルデヒド、
2,3−ジヒドロキシベンズアルデヒド、ベンジルアミン、1,1,3−トリス
(2−メチル−4−ヒドロキシ−5−t−ブチルフェニル)ブタン、t−ブチル
−ヒドロキシ−アニリン、p−ヒドロキシアニリンならびにn−プロピル−ガレ
ートが包含される。本発明に用いるのに非常に好ましいのは、例えばSHELL
からIONOL CP(商品名)の商品名で商業的に入手できるジ−t−ブチル
ヒドロキシトルエンおよび/またはt−ブチル−ヒドロキシアニソールである。
これらの遊離基捕捉剤は、本発明の過酸素漂白剤含有組成物の安定性にさらに寄
与する。
本発明による組成物は、典型的には、前記遊離基捕捉剤またはその混合物を全
組成物の0.0005%〜5重量%、好ましくは0.005%〜1.5%、そし
てより好ましくは0.01%〜1%、を含んでなる。
第四の必須成分として、本発明による組成物は、pH緩衝剤またはその混合物
を含んでなる。
本明細書において「pH緩衝剤」とは、一種の化合物または複数の化合物の組
み合わせで構成される系であって、強酸又は強アルカリが添加されたときに、そ
のpHが僅かしか変化しない系を意味する。従って、本発明の組成物中にpH緩
衝剤を存在させることにより、前記pH緩衝剤を含まない同一の組成物と比較し
て、組成物のセルフ・ライフ(self−life)の間、より長期間、前記組
成物のpHを8を超えて保つことが可能となる。
本発明で使用するのに適するpH緩衝剤は、ボレートpH緩衝剤、ホスホネー
ト、シリケートおよびそれらの混合物を包含する。
本発明に用いるのに適するpH緩衝剤は、ホウ酸のアルカリ金属塩ならびにア
ルキルボレートおよびそれらの混合物を包含する。
本発明に用いるのに適するボレートpH緩衝剤は、ホウ酸、メタホウ酸、四ホ
ウ酸、八ホウ酸、五ホウ酸のアルカリ金属塩、ドデカボロン、三フッ化ボロンお
よび/または炭素原子1〜12個、そして好ましくは1〜4個、を含有するアル
キルボレートである。適するアルキルボレートは、メチルボレート、エチルボレ
ートおよびプロピルボレートを包含する。本発明に特に好ましいのは、メタホウ
酸(例えばメタホウ酸ナトリウム)、四ホウ酸(例えば四ホウ酸ナトリウム十水和
物)のアルカリ金属塩またはそれらの混合物である。
メタホウ酸ナトリウムおよび四ホウ酸ナトリウムの如きボロン塩は、Bora
xならびにSocieta Chimica Larderelloからsodi
um metaborate(商品名)およびBorax(商品名)の商品名で
商業的に入手できる。
本発明による組成物は、典型的にpH緩衝剤またはその混合物を全組成物の、
0.001%〜15重量%、好ましくは0.01%〜10%、より好ましくは0
.01%〜5%、そして最も好ましくは0.1%〜3%、含んでなる。
本発明による組成物は水性である。好ましくは組成物は、水を全組成物の55
%〜99重量%、好ましくは80%〜99%、そしてより好ましくは85%〜9
8%、含んでなる。
本発明の水性組成物は、8を超えるpH、好ましくは8.1〜10、より好ま
しくは8.2〜9.5、そしてより好ましくは8.2〜8.8、を有する。組成
物のpHはアルカリ化剤を用いて調節できる。アルカリ化剤の例は、アルカリ金
属水酸化物、例えばカリウムおよび/またはナトリウム水酸化物、またはアルカ
リ金属酸化物、例えばナトリウムおよび/またはカリウム酸化物、である。
本明細書において「効果的殺菌性能」とは、前記過酸素漂白剤、前記遊離基捕
捉剤、前記キレート化剤およびpH緩衝剤を含んでなる本発明の水性かつアルカ
リ性の組成物が、汚染された表面の細菌量を著しく減少させることを意味する。
実際、スタフィロコッカス・アウレウスのようなグラム陽性菌、およびシュード
モナス・エルジノーサのようなグラム陰性菌、ならびに汚染された表面上に存在
するカンジダ・アルビカンスのような真菌を包含する様々な微生物に対して効果
的な殺菌作用が得られる。
組成物の殺菌性能は、前記組成物の殺菌活性により測定してもよい。
清浄な表面における組成物の殺菌性能を評価するのに適する試験法は、Euro
pean committee for standardisation、ブ
リュッセル、発行の1995年11月付け欧州標準prEN 1040、CEN
/TC 216N 78に記載されている。欧州標準、prEN 1040、C
EN/TC 216N 78は、殺菌組成物の最低殺菌活性の試験法および必要
条件に付き詳述している。
試験は細菌によるコロニー形成単位(cfu)が107cfu(初期レベル)
から102cfu(殺菌製品と接触した後の最終レベル)に減少した場合に合格
となる。すなわち生存度の105の減少が必要である。本発明による組成物は、
高
い希釈条件で用いた場合でさえこの試験に合格する。
本明細書において「有効な化学的安定性」とは、前記過酸素漂白剤、前記遊離
基捕捉剤、前記キレート化剤およびpH緩衝剤を含んでなる本発明の水性かつア
ルカリ性の組成物が、例えば前記遊離基捕捉剤を含まない同一組成物と比較して
、改善された化学的安定性をもたらすことを意味する。
本発明の組成物の化学的安定性は、組成物製造後の所定貯蔵時間における有効
酸素(しばしばAvO2と略称される)濃度を測定することにより評価すること
になろう。有効酸素濃度は、当業界で知られている化学滴定法、例えばヨウ素酸
化滴定法、チオ硫酸塩滴定法、過マンガン酸塩滴定法およびセリウム(IV)滴定
法によって測定できる。前記測定法および適切な方法の選定基準は、例えば「過
酸化水素」、W.C.Schumb、C.N.SatterfieldおよびR
.L.Wentworth著、Reinhold Publishing社、ニ
ューヨーク、1955年ならびに「有機過酸化物」、Daniel Swern編
、Wiley Int.Science、1970年、に記載されている。
本明細書において「改善された脂汚れ除去性能」とは、前記過酸素漂白剤、前
記遊離基捕捉剤、前記キレート化剤およびpH緩衝剤を含んでなる本発明の水性
かつアルカリ性の組成物が、例えば同一組成物であって同じpHを有するが、し
かし前記pH緩衝剤を含まないものとの比較において、改善された脂汚れ除去性
能をもたらすことを意味する。
所定の組成物の固体表面における脂汚れ除去性能は、下記の試験法で評価する
ことになろう。例えば、この汚れ除去性能試験に用いる典型的な汚染タイルは、
油脂、例えば汚れたエンジン油または家庭用油(例えばオリーブ油/菜種油)の
薄い膜で汚した白い磁器タイルで、その後タイルに対する油脂の付着を強化する
ためにオーブン中で1〜2時間焼成したものであってよい。本発明による組成物
と、対照組成物、例えば同一組成で前記pH緩衝剤を含まないものを、それぞれ
原液のまま汚染タイル上の2箇所の全く等しい部分に1分間塗布し、それから流
水で除去し、かつその後ペーパークロスで軽くたたいて水分をとる。
汚れ除去性能は上記の如く処理したタイルの2つの部分を、並べて比較するこ
とにより評価することになろう。パネル・スコア・ユニット(psu)で、例え
ば0〜4の範囲で、違いの程度を割り当てるのに目視等級付けスケールを用いて
もよい。
本発明の水性組成物は、任意原料として抗菌化合物、またはその混合物を含ん
でなってよい。
本発明に使用するのに適する抗菌化合物は、抗菌精油またはそれらの活性種、
パラベン、グルタルアルデヒドまたはそれらの混合物を包含する。
本発明に用いるのに好ましい抗菌化合物は、抗菌精油またはそれらの活性種で
ある。本発明の組成物に用いるのに適する抗菌精油は、抗菌活性を示すような精
油である。本明細書において「精油の活性種」とは、抗菌活性を示すあらゆる精
油の成分を意味する。前記抗菌精油およびそれらの活性種は蛋白質変性剤として
作用するものと推測される。また、前記抗菌精油およびそれらの活性種は天然産
出化合物であって、それが本発明の組成物をあらゆる表面の殺菌に用いた場合の
安全特性に寄与する。前記抗菌油およびそれらの活性種の更なる利点は、それら
が本発明の水性かつアルカリ性の組成物に、香料を加える必要無しに好ましい香
りを与えることである。従って、本発明による水性かつアルカリ性の組成物の利
点は、優れた脂汚れ除去性能と効果的な殺菌性能だけでなくよい香気ももたらす
ことにある。
このような精油には、限定するものではないが、タイム、レモングラス、柑橘
類植物、レモン、オレンジ、アニス、クローブ、アニシード、ニッケイ、ゼラニ
ウム、バラ、ハッカ、ラベンダー、コウスイガヤ、ユーカリノキ、ペパーミント
、ショウノウ、ビャクダンおよびヒマラヤスギから得られるものならびにそれら
の
混合物が包含される。本発明に用いる精油の活性種には、限定するものではない
が、チモール(例えばタイム中に存在)、オイゲノール(例えばニッケイおよびク
ローブ中に存在)、メントール(例えばハッカ中に存在)、ゲラニオール(例えばゼ
ラニウムおよびバラ中に存在)、バーベノン(例えばバーベナ中に存在)、ユーカ
リプトールおよびピノカルボン(ユーカリノキ中に存在)、セドロール(例えばヒ
マラヤスギ中に存在)、アネトール(例えばアニス中に存在)、カルバクロール、
ヒノキチオール、ベルベリンおよびそれらの混合物が包含される。本発明に用い
るのに好ましい精油の活性種は、チモール、オイゲノール、バーベノン、ユーカ
リプトールおよび/またはゲラニオールである。
チモールは例えば、Aldrichから商業的に入手でき、オイゲノールは例
えば、Sigma、Systems−Bioindustries(SBI)−
Manheimer社から商業的に入手されよう。
本発明の組成物に用いるのに適するパラベンは、エチルパラベン、メチルパラ
ベン、プロピルパラベンまたはそれらの混合物を包含する。
グルタルアルデヒドは、Union CarbideまたはBASFから商業
的に入手されよう。
本発明の組成物は、典型的に前記抗菌化合物またはその混合物を、全組成物の
最大で5重量%、好ましくは0.006%〜4%、より好ましくは0.05%〜
2%、含んでなる。
本発明の組成物はさらに、ノニオン系、アニオン系、カチオン系、両性および
/または双性イオン系界面活性剤を包含する当業者に知られているあらゆる界面
活性剤を含んでいてもよい。前記界面活性剤は、本発明組成物の洗浄性能にさら
に寄与するので、本発明に望ましい。
本発明による組成物は、典型的に界面活性剤またはその混合物を、全組成物の最
大で50重量%、好ましくは0.1%〜30%、そしてより好ましくは0.2%
から25%、含んでなる。
本発明に用いるのに特に好ましいアニオン系界面活性剤は、式がROSO3M
の水溶性の塩または酸を包含し、式中Rは好ましくはC6−C24ヒドロカルビル
、好ましくはC8−C20アルキル成分を有するアルキルもしくはヒドロキシアル
キル、より好ましくはC8−C18アルキルもしくはヒドロキシアルキルで、かつ
MはHもしくはカチオン、例えばアルカリ金属カチオン(例えばナトリウム、カ
リウム、リチウム)、またはアンモニウムもしくは置換アンモニウム(例えばメ
チル−、ジメチル−、およびトリメチルアンモニウムカチオン、ならびに例えば
テトラメチル−アンモニウムおよびジメチルピペルジニウムカチオンのような第
四級アンモニウムカチオン、ならびに例えばエチルアミン、ジエチルアミン、ト
リエチルアミンおよびそれらの混合物ならびに類似のものであるようなアルキル
アミンから誘導された第四級アンモニウムカチオン)である。
本発明に用いるのに適した他のアニオン系界面活性剤は、アルキル−ジフェニ
ル−エーテル−スルホネートおよびアルキル−カルボキシレートを包含する。他
のアニオン系界面活性剤には、石鹸の塩(例えば、ナトリウム、カリウム、アン
モニウム、ならびに例えばモノ−、ジ−およびトリエタノールアミンの塩のよう
な置換アンモニウム塩を包含する)、C9−C20直鎖アルキルベンゼンスルホネー
ト、C8−C22第一または第二アルカンスルホネート、C8−C24オレフィンスル
ホネート、例えば英国特許明細書第1,082,179号に記載されているよう
なアルカリ土類金属クエン酸塩の熱分解生成物をスルホン化して調製されたスル
ホン化ポリカルボン酸、C8−C24アルキルポリグリコールエーテルサルフェー
ト(最大10モルのエチレンオキシドを含有)、例えばC14−C16メチルエステル
スルホネートのようなアルキルエステルスルホネート、アシルグリセロールスル
ホネート、脂肪オレイルグリセロールサルフェート、アルキルフェノールエチレ
ンオキシドエーテルサルフェート、パラフィンスルホネート、アルキルホス
フェート、アシルイセチオネートのようなイセチオネート、N−アシルタウレー
ト、アルキルスクシナメートおよびスルホスクシネート、スルホスクシネートの
モノエステル(特に飽和および不飽和のC12−C18モノエステル)スルホスクシ
ネートのジエステル(特に飽和および不飽和のC6−C14ジエステル)、アシルサ
ルコシネート、例えばアルキルポリグルコシドのサルフェート(ノニオン系非硫
酸化化合物については後述する)のようなアルキルポリサッカリドのサルフェー
ト、分岐第一級アルキルサルフェート、例えば式RO(CH2CH2O)kCH2C
OO-M+のもので式中RはC8−C22アルキル、kは0〜10の整数、かつMは
可溶性塩生成カチオンであるようなアルキルポリエトキシカルボキシレートが包
含される。樹脂酸および水素添加樹脂酸もまた適しており、例えばロジン、水素
添加ロジン、ならびにトール油中に存在するかまたはトール油から誘導された樹
脂酸および水素添加樹脂酸である。更なる例は「界面活性剤および洗剤」(Vo
l.IおよびII、Schwartz、PerryおよびBerch著)に示され
ている。種々のこのような界面活性剤はまた、1975年12月30日にLau
ghlin他に付与された米国特許第3,929,678号明細書の23欄、5
8行から29欄、23行に全般的に開示されている(この特許明細書は本明細書
中に引例として包含する)。
本発明の組成物に用いるのに好ましいアニオン系界面活性剤はアルキルベンゼ
ンスルホネート、アルキルサルフェート、アルキルアルコキシ化サルフェート、

本発明に用いるのに適する両性界面活性剤は、次の式R1R2R3NOを有し、
式中R1、R2およびR3がそれぞれ独立に飽和した置換または未置換の、直鎖
または分岐鎖で炭素原子数1〜30の炭化水素鎖であるアミンオキシドを包含す
る。本発明にしたがって用いるのに好ましいアミンオキシド界面活性剤は、次の
式R1R2R3NOを有するアミンオキシドで、式中R1は炭素原子1〜30個、
好ましくは6〜20個、より好ましくは8〜16個、最も好ましくは8〜10個
、を含んでなる炭化水素鎖であり、かつ式中R2およびR3は、独立に置換また
は未置換の、直鎖又は分岐鎖で炭素原子1〜4個、好ましくは炭素原子1〜3個
、を含んでなる炭化水素鎖であり、そしてより好ましくはメチル基である。R1
は飽和した置換または未置換で直鎖又は分岐鎖の炭化水素鎖であってもよい。
本発明に用いるのに適したアミンオキシドは、例えばC8−C10の天産混合
アミンオキシドならびにHoechstから商業的に入手できるC12−C16
アミンオキシドである。
本発明に用いるのに適する双性イオン界面活性剤は、比較的広いpH範囲にお
いて、同一分子上にカチオン性およびアニオン性親水基の双方を含有する。ホス
ホニウム、イミダゾリウムおよびスルホニウム基のような、他の正に荷電した基
が使用できるとはいえ、典型的なカチオン性基は第四アンモニウム基である。サ
ルフェート、ホスホネート等の基が使用できるとはいえ、典型的なアニオン系親
水基はカルボキシレートおよびスルホネートである。本発明に用いる一部の双性
イオン系界面活性剤の一般式は
で、式中R1は疎水基であり、R2およびR3はそれぞれC1−C4アルキル基、ヒ

ル基である。疎水基は、不飽和および/または置換基および/または結合基、例
えばアリール基、アミド基、エステル基および類似のものを含有できる。一般に

非常に好ましい双性イオン界面活性剤は、ベタインおよびスルホベタイン界面
活性剤、それらの誘導体またはそれらの混合物を包含する。前記ベタインまたは
スルホベタイン界面活性剤は、細菌の細胞膜に対する浸透性を高め、他の活性材
料の細胞内への進入を許容させることによって殺菌を補助するので本発明に好ま
しい。
さらに、前記ベタインまたはスルホベタインの低刺激特性により、繊細な表面
、例えば繊細な洗濯物または食物および/または幼児と接触する表面、の洗浄に
特に適する。ベタインおよびスルホベタイン界面活性剤はまた、皮膚および/ま
たは処理する表面に対しても極めて刺激が弱い。
本発明に用いるのに適するベタインおよびスルホベタイン界面活性剤は、その
分子が、広いpH値の範囲にわたってその分子にカチオン系ならびにアニオン系
親水基の双方を与える内部塩を生成する、塩基性ならびに酸性の基の双方を含有
するベタイン/スルホベタインおよびベタイン類似の洗剤である。これら洗剤の
いくつかの通常の例は、米国特許第2,082,275号、第2,702,27

特に適するベタイン界面活性剤の例は、例えばココナッツ−ベタインのような
C12−C18アルキルジメチルベタイン、および例えばラウリルベタインのよ
うなC10−C16アルキルジメチルベタインを包含する。ココナッツベタイン
はSeppicからAmonyl 265(商品名)の商品名で商業的に入手で
きる。ラウリルベタインはAlbright & WilsonからEmpig
en BB/L(商品名)の商品名で商業的に入手できる。
他の特定の双性イオン系界面活性剤は下記一般式を有する、
式中各R1は、炭化水素、例えば8から最大20まで、好ましくは最大18まで
、より好ましくは最大16まで、の炭素原子を含有するアルキル基であり、各R2
は水素(アミドの窒素に付加する場合)、炭素原子1〜4個を含有する短鎖アル
キルもしくは置換アルキルで、好ましくはメチル、エチル、プロピル、水酸基置
換エチルまたはプロピルおよびそれらの混合物からなる群から選択される基、の
いずれか、好ましくはメチルであり、各R3は水素および水酸基からなる群から
選択され、各nは1〜4、好ましくは2〜3、より好ましくは3、の数値であり
、(C(R3)2)部分のどれにも水酸基が1個存在する。R1基は分岐鎖および
/または不飽和であってもよい。R2基もまた環状構造を形成するよう結合して
もよい。この型の界面活性剤は、C10−C14脂肪アシルアミドプロピレン(ヒド
ロキシプロピレン)スルホベタインで、Sherex社から「Varion C
AS sulfobetaine」(商品名)の商品名で商業的に入手できる。
本発明の好ましい実施態様において、本発明の組成物は硬質面の殺菌に特に適
しており、界面活性剤は典型的にアミンオキシドおよびベタインまたはスルホベ
タイン界面活性剤を含んでなる界面活性剤系で、好ましくはアミンオキシドのベ
タインまたはスルホベタインに対する重量比は1:1〜100:1、より好まし
くは6:1〜100:1、そして最も好ましくは10:1〜50:1、である。
本発明の硬質表面洗浄組成物へのこのような界面活性剤系の使用により、前記組
成物に効果的な洗浄性能をもたらすだけでなく、洗浄した表面に光沢効果ももた
らす。すなわち前記組成物で処理した洗浄表面上に残される膜/縞の量が最少と
なるのである。
本発明に用いるのに適するノニオン系界面活性剤は、脂肪アルコールエトキシ
レートおよび/またはプロポキシレートで、様々な鎖長の脂肪アルコールおよび
様々なエトキシ化度のものが商業的に入手できる。実際、このようなアルコキシ
化ノニオン系界面活性剤のHLB値は、本質的に脂肪アルコールの鎖長、アルコ
キシ化の性質とアルコキシ化の度合いに依存する。ノニオン系を含む多数の界面
活性剤が各々のHLB値と共に記載された界面活性剤のカタログを入手すること
ができる。
本発明でノニオン系界面活性剤として用いるのに特に適するのは、16未満、
好ましくは15未満、より好ましくは12未満、そして最も好ましくは10未満
、のHLB(親水性−親油性バランス)を有する疎水性ノニオン系界面活性剤で
ある。このような疎水性ノニオン系界面活性剤は良好な油脂切断性をもたらすこ
とが分かった。
本発明による組成物に用いるのに好ましい疎水性ノニオン系界面活性剤は、1
6未満のHLBを有し、かつ式RO−(C2H4O)n(C3H6O)mHに従うもの
であり、式中RはC6〜C22アルキル鎖またはC6〜C28アルキルベンゼン鎖であ
り、かつ式中n+mは0〜20でnは0〜15そしてmは0〜20、好まし
くはn+mは1〜15でnとmは0.5〜15、より好ましくはn+mは1〜1
0でnとmは0〜10である。本発明に用いる好ましいR鎖はC8〜C22アルキ
ル鎖である。従って、本発明に用いるのに適する疎水性ノニオン系界面活性剤は

banol(商品名)界面活性剤はSHELLから商業的に入手できる。これら
Lutensol(商品名)界面活性剤はBASFから商業的に入手でき、そし
てこれらTergitol(商品名)界面活性剤はUNION CARBIDE
から商業的に入手できる。
本発明の水性組成物は、任意成分として溶媒またはそれらの混合物を含んでな
ってもよい。用いた場合、溶媒は本発明の組成物に好都合に強化された洗浄性を
与える。本発明による組成物に配合するのに適した溶媒は、例えば、n−ブトキ
シプロパノールもしくはn−ブトキシプロポキシプロパノールのようなプロピレ
ングリコール誘導体、水溶性CARBITOL(商品名)溶媒または水溶性CE
LLOSOLVE(商品名)溶媒を包含する。水溶性CARBITOL(商品名
)溶媒は、そのアルコキシ基がエチル、プロピルまたはブチルから誘導されるよ
うな2−(2−アルコキシエトキシ)エタノール種の化合物である。好ましい水
溶性カービトール(carbitol)は、2−(2−ブトキシエトキシ)エタ
ノールでブチルカービトール(butyl carbitol)としても知られ
ているものである。水溶性CELLOSOLVE(商品名)溶媒は2−アルコキ
シエトキシエタノール種の化合物であって、2−ブトキシエトキシエタノールと
の併用が好ましい。他の適する溶媒は、ベンジルアルコール、メタノール、エタ
ノール、イソプロピルアルコールならびに例えば2−エチル−1,3−ヘキサン
ジオールおよび2,2,4−トリメチル−1,3−ペンタンジオールならびにそ
れらの混合物のようなジオールである。本発明に用いるのに好ましい溶媒は、n
−ブトキシプロポキシプロパノール、butyl carbitol(商品名)
お
よびそれらの混合物である。本発明に用いるのに最も好ましい溶媒はbutyl
carbitol(商品名)である。
溶媒は、本発明の組成物中に、典型的に全組成物の最大10重量%まで、好ま
しくは0.1%〜8%、そしてより好ましくは0.5%〜6重量%、のレベルで
存在させることができる。
本発明による組成物は、任意成分として、せん断減粘性(shear thi
nning)重合体状増粘剤またはその混合物を含んでいてもよい。
かかるせん断減粘性重合体状増粘剤は、本発明による液状組成物に配合した場
合、二重の機能を果たすので本発明に適している。ここで、これらの機能は本発
明の組成物を殺菌すべき表面上にスプレーした時、使用者が過酸素漂白剤の霧/

は、ポリウレタンポリマー、ポリアクリルアミドポリマー、ポリカルボキシレー
トポリマー、例えばポリアクリル酸とそのナトリウム塩、キサンタンガムまたは
その誘導体、アルギネートまたはその誘導体、ポリサッカリドポリマー、例えば
エトキシ化セルロース、カルボキシメチルセルロース、ヒドロキシメチルセルロ
ース、ヒドロキシプロピルセルロース、ヒドロキシエチルセルロースおよびそれ

本発明の組成物に用いるのに好ましいせん断減粘性重合体状増粘剤は、Mer
ckのKelco事業部から、KELTROL(商品名)、KELZAN AR(
商品名)、KELZAN D35(商品名)、KELZAN S(商品名)、KEL
ZAN XZ(商品名)などの商品名で販売される、キサンタンガムまたはその
誘
導体である。
キサンタンガムはキサントモナス・カンペストラスの細胞外ポリサッカリドで
ある。キサンタンガムはコーンシュガーまたはコーン甘味料副産物をベースに発
酵によって製造する。キサンタンガムは、セルロースに見られるものと類似のポ
リ ベータ−(1→4)−D−グルコピラノシル骨格鎖を含んでなる。キサンタ
ンガムおよびその誘導体の水性分散液は優れた流動特性を示す。キサンタンガム
は高度の疑似塑性を示す。すなわち、広い濃度範囲にわたって、一般に瞬時に復
元し得ると理解される急速なずれ揺変が発現する。好ましいキサンタン材料は架
橋キサンタン材料を包含する。キサンタンポリマーは、大きなポリサッカリド分
子のヒドロキシル官能基と反応性がある、様々な知られている共有反応性架橋剤
により架橋させることができ、そしてさらに二価、三価または多価金属イオンを
用いても架橋させることができる。このような架橋キサンタンゲルは、米国特許

重量%の架橋剤を含有するが、この架橋剤はポリマーの直鎖同士を連結して、結

を包含する。ポリカルボキシレートポリマーはポリアクリレートポリマーを包含

体である。前述したあらゆるポリカルボキシレートポリマーの混合物を用いるこ
ともできる。
本発明による組成物は、せん断減粘性重合体状増粘剤またはその混合物を全組
成物の最大10重量%まで、好ましくは0.02重量%〜5重量%、より好まし
くは0.02重量%〜2重量%、そして最も好ましくは0.02重量%〜1重量
%、含んでいてもよい。
本発明の水性組成物は、さらに様々な他の任意成分、例えばビルダー、安定剤
、漂白活性剤、汚れ懸濁剤、染料転移剤、ブライトナー、防塵剤、酵素、分散剤
、染料転移防止剤、顔料、香料、および染料を含んでいてもよい。
本発明による液体の形態に配合された水性組成物は、原液または希釈液で塗布
すればよい。従って、本発明は前述したような組成物を前記表面に塗布する表面
の洗浄方法を包含する。
本明細書において「表面」とは、人の皮膚、口、歯のような生物の表面および
無生物の表面を包含するあらゆる表面を意味する。無生物の表面には、限定する
ものではないが、典型的に台所、浴室または自動車の内装といった家庭で見受け
られる硬質表面、例えば、タイル、壁、床、クロム、ガラス、平滑なビニール、
あらゆるプラスチック、樹脂加工木材(plastified wood)、テー
ブルの表面、流し、調理器具天板、皿や、衛生器具、例えば洗面合、シャワー、
シャワーカーテン、洗面器、便器など、ならびに衣類、カーテン、ドレープ、ベ
