【発明の詳細な説明】
押出吹込成形によって物品を製造する方法用の
ポリアミド組成物、及び得られる物品
本発明は、押出吹込成形によって部材又は物品を製造する方法において使用す
るのに適した特性を備えた熱可塑性組成物に関する。
本発明は、一層特には低いモジュラスを有し、これより軟質の又は少なくとも
軟質の部分を含む部材又は物品を製造することを可能にする熱可塑性ポリアミド
ベースの組成物に関する。
ポリアミドをベースにした組成物は、非常に長い間、種々の造形技術に従って
成形される部材又は物品を製造するための原料として使用されてきた。これらの
技術の中で、押出吹込成形のプロセスは、例えばビン、チューブ、タンク、ホー
スやパイプのような中空完成品を製造することを可能にする。ポリアミド組成物
をこの造形技術において使用することは、有意の発達を経験している。
しかし、ポリアミドをベースにした組成物の溶融状態における流動学的性質は
、押出吹込成形技術を実施するために改質されなければならない。これより、こ
れらの流動学的性質を適応させかつ改質するために、ポリアミドの分子量を、重
合度を増大させることにより、又は二官能価連鎖延長剤を加えることによって増
大させるような数多くの解決策が、すでに提案された。
また、特許出願WO 93/04129、WO 90/07556及びWO
90/07555におけるように、アイオノマー性エラストマー又は架橋剤を加
えることも提案された。
しかし、これらの組成物は、特に所定の可撓性及び高い衝撃強さを示すことが
要求される部材のような、サーマルエンジンの所定の部材について要求される十
分な可撓性を有する物品又は部材を製造することを可能にしない。
事実、これらの部材は、それらを組み立てる時に或はエンジン又は乗り物の作
用する間に張力を受けるのがしばしばであり、かかる張力は、直ぐに又は老化の
過程で破損を起こさせ得、或は極めて単純にそれらを取り付けるのを妨げ得る。
部材の可撓性は、温度によって影響されてはならない。事実、サーマルエンジン
における空気及び水パイプは、熱を加えないで(cold)取り付けられ、エン
ジンが作動中に130℃に達し得る温度を受ける。これらのパイプの劣化を避け
るために、組成物の可撓性は、熱を加えない及び高温(およそ150℃)の両方
で適するものでなければならない。
その上に、知られている組成物は、硬質部分と結合した軟質部分を含むパイプ
、ホースやチューブのような部材を製造するために適していない。従って、これ
らの部材を、カラー又はガスケットのような機械的接続の系又は手段によって組
み立てる複数のエレメントの形態で製造することが必要である。これらの系では
、軟質部分は、熱可塑性ゴムのようなエラストマー性材料で作られるのが普通で
ある。
発明の目的の内の一つは、ポリアミドベースの組成物であって、それの溶融状
態における流動学的性質が、押出吹込成形によって造形する方法に適合しかつ例
えば、低い温度において改良された可撓性であるものを提供するにある。
発明の別の目的は、軟質部分と硬質部分とが互いに結合してなる部材を製造す
ることを可能にする組成物を提供するにある。これらの部材は、有利なことに、
逐次の押出吹込成形技術によって製造することができる。
このために、発明は、熱可塑性ポリアミドポリマーをベースにしたマトリック
ス及び少なくとも一種の耐衝撃性改良剤を含む組成物であって、耐衝撃性改良剤
が重量により組成物の10〜50%の濃度で存在し、該組成物のモジュラスが1
500MPaよりも小さいことを特徴とする熱可塑性組成物を提供する。
発明の別の好適な特徴に従えば、組成物は、ポリアミドマトリックス用の可塑
剤を含み、該可塑剤は、重量により該ポリアミドマトリックスの5〜20%の濃
度で存在する。
組成物は、別の成分として、ポリアミドマトリックス用の連鎖延長剤を含み、
該連鎖延長剤は、重量により該ポリアミドマトリックスの0.05〜5%の濃度
で存在するのが有利である。
発明の熱可塑性組成物は、モジュールが1000MPaよりも小さいのが有利
である。
これより、発明の組成物は、パイプ、ホース及びチューブであって、それらの
柔軟度が、複雑なプロフィルで造形することを要しないで、例えばサーマルエン
ジンに容易に設置することを可能にする程であるもののような部材を製造するこ
とを可能にする。
その上に、ポリアミドポリマーをベースにしたこの熱可塑性組成物は、硬質部
分と軟質部分とが互いに結合してなる部材を製造するために、慣用の熱可塑性ポ
リアミドと組み合わせて使用することができる。換言すると、これらの部分の間
の接続は、採用する組成物を構成するマトリックスの適合性により、外部固定又
は結合手段を使用しないで得られる。これらの部材の製造は、特に逐次射出、押
出又は成形技術を用いることによって得られる。
部材の柔軟部分は膨張形態を有して、パイプ又はチューブの可撓性を更に向上
させることを可能にするのが有利である。部材についてのこの種の形状は、特に
押出吹込成形の技術を実施することによって得られる。
発明の一つの好適な特徴に従えば、熱可塑性組成物は、メルトフローインデッ
クス0.5〜8g/10分を有する。このインデックスは、275℃において5
kgの荷重を加えることによって求める。このフローインデックス範囲は、特に
これらの組成物を、押出吹込成形の技術を採用する造形方法において用いること
を可能にする。
その上に、発明に従う組成物は、23℃で測定するノッチ付アイゾット衝撃強
さが、800J/mよりも大きいのが有利である。
発明に適した熱可塑性ポリアミドマトリックスは、特に半結晶質ポリアミドを
含む。
発明に適した半結晶質ポリアミドなる用語は、下記を言う:例えばアジピン酸
、アゼライン酸、セバシン酸、ドデカンジ酸のような飽和脂肪族ジカルボン酸、
脂肪酸の二量体のような脂肪酸、又はこれらの混合物を、第一級ジアミン、好ま
しくは炭素原子4〜12を有する線状又は枝分かれした飽和脂肪族第一級ジアミ
ン、例えばヘキサメチレンジアミン、トリメチルヘキサメチレンジアミン、テト
ラメチレンジアミン、m−キシンジアミン又はこれらの混合物と重縮合させるこ
とによって得られるポリマー;炭素原子4〜12を有する炭化水素鎖を含有する
ω−アミノアルカン酸を直接ホモ重縮合させることによってか又はこれらの酸か
ら誘導されるラクタムを加水分解開放及び重合させることによってのいずれかで
得られるポリアミド;前述したポリアミドの初めのモノマー又はこれらとテレフ
タル酸及び/又はイソフタル酸のような他のモノマーとから得られるコポリアミ
ド;ポリエチレングリコール又はポリプロピレングリコール鎖を有機ラジカルと
して含むジアミン;並びにこれらのポリアミド又はそれらのコポリマーのこれら
の混合物。
ジ酸とジアミンとを重縮合させることによって得られるポリアミドの例示とし
て、例えば下記を挙げることができる:
−ナイロン4,6(テトラメチレンジアミンとアジピン酸とのポリマー)、
−ナイロン6,6(ヘキサメチレンジアミンとアジピン酸とのポリマー)、
−ナイロン6,9(ヘキサメチレンジアミンとアゼライン酸とのポリマー)、
−ナイロン6,10(ヘキサメチレンジアミンとセバシン酸とのポリマー)、
−ナイロン6,12(ヘキサメチレンジアミンとドデカンジ酸とのポリマー)、
及び
−ナイロン12,12(ドデカンジアミンとドデカンジ酸とのポリマー)。
適し得るラクタム又はα,ω−アミノ酸をホモ重縮合させることによって得ら
れるポリアミドの例示として、下記を挙げることができる:
−ナイロン4(4−アミノブタン酸又はγ−ブチロラクタムのポリマー)、
−ナイロン5(5−アミノペンタン酸又はδ−アミノラクタムのポリマー)、
−ナイロン6(ε−カプロラクタムのポリマー)、
−ナイロン7(7−アミノヘプタン酸のポリマー)、
−ナイロン8(カプリルラクタムのポリマー)、
−ナイロン9(9−アミノノナン酸のポリマー)、
−ナイロン10(10−アミノデカン酸のポリマー)、
−ナイロン11(11−アミノウンデカン酸のポリマー)、
−ナイロン12(12−アミノドデカン酸又はラウリルラクタムのポリマー)。
コポリアミドの例示として、例えば下記を挙げることができる:
−ナイロン6,6/6,10(ヘキサメチレンジアミンと、アジピン酸と、セバ
シン酸とのコポリマー)、
−ナイロン6,6/6(ヘキサメチレンジアミンと、アジピン酸と、カプロラク
タムとのコポリマー)、
−ナイロン6/12、
−ナイロン6/11、
−ナイロン6/6,36。
好適なポリマーは、ナイロン6,6、ナイロン6又はそれらのコポリマー、又
はこれらのポリアミドとPA 6/6,36のようなその他のポリアミドとの混
合物である。
ポリアミドは、組成物中に重量により55〜70%の濃度で存在するのが有利
である。
組成物の耐衝撃性改良剤は、Tgが0℃よりも低い、好ましくは−20℃より
も低い化合物が有利である。その上に、極めて小さいモジュラス、例えば100
0MPaよりも小さいモジュラスを有する組成物を得るために、この化合物は、
200MPaよりも小さいモジュラスを有するのが有利である。
発明の好適な改良剤は、エラストマー性を示す又は示さないポリオレフィンで
ある。
発明の一つの好適な特徴に従えば、組成物のレジリエンス改良用化合物の内の
少なくともいくつかは、ポリアミドと反応することができる極性機能を含む。こ
れらの極性機能は、例えば酸、無水物、アクリル性、メタクリル性又はエポキシ
機能にすることができる。
これらの機能は、化合物の高分子鎖にグラフトさせるのが普通である。
発明に適したポリオレフィンとして、ポリエチレン、ポリプロピレン、ポリブ
チレン又はエチレン/プロピレンジエン及びエチレン−プロピレンコポリマーの
ようなエチレンとα−オレフィンとのコポリマーを挙げることができる。
極めて特に好適なポリマーとして、ULDPEの表示で知られている極低密度
ポリエチレンを挙げることができる。これらの化合物は、メルトフローインデッ
クス(インデックスは、ASTM D 1238規格に従って190℃において
2.16kgの荷重下で測定した)0.5〜7g/10分、好ましくは1g/1
0分未満及び密度0.9g/cm3未満、有利には0.86〜0.90g/cm3
を有するエチレンと炭素原子4〜12を含有するα−オレフィンとのコポリマー
である。
ULDPEポリエチレンは、酸又は無水物機能、例えば無水マレイン酸機能の
ようなグラフトされた極性機能を含む。ULDPEポリエチレン中のこれらの極
性機能の重量による濃度は、広い範囲内で変えることができる。例えば、この濃
度は、ポリエチレンの重量に対して0.01〜0.8重量%にすることができる
。これらのULDPEコポリマーは、何年も前から知られており、それらの製造
方法もそうである。それらは、特にENICHEM Companyにより商標
名「Clearflex CH GO」(登録商標)で販売されている。
無水マレイン酸のような極性機能をグラフトさせたコポリマーも知られており
、特にヨーロッパ特許出願第0581360号及び同第0 646 247号に
記載されている。
組成物中の耐衝撃性改良剤(又はレジリエンス改良剤)の濃度は、特に所望す
る衝撃強さのレベルに依存する。この濃度は、ポリアミドマトリックスの10〜
50重量%が優先的であり、20〜40重量%が好ましい。
発明の別の特徴に従えば、熱可塑性組成物は、ポリアミドマトリックス用の可
塑剤を含むことができる。この可塑剤は、ポリアミドマトリックスの重量に対し
て重量により5〜20%の濃度で存在するのが有利である。
適した可塑剤の例として、o,p−トルエンスルホンアミド、N−エチル−o
,p−トルエンスルホンアミド、N−ブチルベンゼンスルホンアミドのようなス
ルホンアミド、炭素原子1〜20を含有するアルキルパラヒドロキシベンゾエー
ト、ポリエチレングリコール及びポリプロピレングリコールを挙げることができ
る。
熱可塑性組成物を押出吹込成形の技術によって造形する場合に一層特に好適で
ある発明の別の特徴に従えば、ポリアミドマトリックス用の連鎖延長剤は、重量
によりポリアミドマトリックスの0.05〜5重量%の濃度で存在する。
このポリマー−連鎖延長剤は、生成した物品において所定の可撓性、すなわち
組成物の小さいモジュラスを保持しながら、押出吹込成形の方法に適合し得る組
成物の溶融状態における流動学的性質を得るために、ポリアミドマトリックスの
分子量を増大させることを可能にする。
連鎖延長剤化合物として、ポリアミドの末端アミン又は酸機能と反応すること
ができる機能を少なくとも2個含有する化合物を挙げることができる。発明の好
適な機能は、エポキシ、無水物又はイソシアネート機能である。
このタイプの化合物は、米国特許第4,433,116号、同第4,417,
031号、同第4,417,032号及びEP 0 295 905のような数
多くの文献に記載されている。
すなわち、エポキシ化合物は、発明の好適な二官能価化合物である。エポキシ
化合物の例として、ジエポキシポリグリコール、ジエポキシビスフェノールA、
トリグリシジルエーテル、ジグリシジルエーテル及びジエポキシビスフェノール
Fを挙げることができる。これらのエポキシ化合物は、分子量が1000gより
も大きいのが有利である。
発明の組成物は、また、一種又はそれ以上の他の成分を含んでもよい。これら
の成分は、組成物の基本的な特性を改質しないが、例えばその熱又は光安定性或
はその取り出し性を向上させる添加剤である。
これより、例として、ハロゲン化アルカリ金属のような熱安定剤、アミンやヒ
ンダードフェノールのような光安定剤、ワックスのような滑剤、及び核剤を挙げ
ることができる。
発明の組成物は、顔料又は染料、及び一般に用いられるその他の添加剤を含む
ことができるのはもちろんである。
発明の組成物は、種々の成分を混合することによって調製することができる。
この混合作業は、例えば一軸スクリュー又は二軸スクリュー押出機で実施するの
が有利でありかつ一般的である。その次に、混合物をストランドの形態で押し出
し、ストランドを切断してグラニュール形態にする。
このようにして得られたグラニュールを、成形、射出、押出又は引抜成形によ
って造形するためのユニットに供給する。
発明の組成物は、逐次押出吹込成形、2D又は3D押出吹込成形のような押出
吹込成形によって造形する技術を実施するために一層特に適している。
実際上、発明の組成物は、例えばサーマルエンジン用の、例えば空気パイプ、
燃料パイプ又は冷却システムのような中空部材のような部材を製造するために特
に適したものにする物理的及び流動学的性質を有する。
発明の詳細、利点及び目的は、本明細書以降に、単に発明の例示として挙げる
例に鑑みてかつ硬質部分及び軟質部分を含む部材の線図を表す単一図から一層は
っきりと明らかになるものと思う。
下記の例に示すパーセンテージは、他に示さない場合には、全組成物に対する
重量によって表す。
組成物の性質は、上に示した規格に従って求める。溶融粘度指数(MFI)は
、275℃において5000gの荷重下で求める。
ポリアミド6の相対粘度(ηrel)は、95.7重量%硫酸中のポリアミドの
1重量%溶液で標準化した方法(ISO 307、1984)に従って求める。例1
下記に示す種々の成分をW&P ZSK 40タイプの二軸スクリュー押出機
において供給速度30kg/時及び回転スクリュー速度270回転/分で温度2
70℃で混合することによって、発明に従う組成物を得る:

耐衝撃性改良剤は、ENICHEM社により商品名PRIMEFLEX(登録
商標)AFG4Wで販売されているULDPEポリエチレンである。この化合物
は、密度0.885g/cm3、190℃において2.16kgの荷重下で測定
した溶融粘度指数0.7〜0.8g/10分、及びTg−45℃を有する。
連鎖延長剤に関しては、使用する化学薬剤は、商品名ARALDITE(登録
商標)GT7071で販売されているエポキシ機能を含有する化合物(エポキシ
当量数1.90〜2.0当量/kg)である。
使用する黒色顔料は、ミネラルカーボンブラックか又はミネラルカーボンブラ
ックとニグロシンとの混合物のいずれかである。例2
新規な組成物を、例1の手順に従って、混合温度250℃を用いて製造する。

形状を添付する単一図に示す物品を、逐次押出による押出吹込成形によって製
造した。
この物品は、2つの一軸スクリュー押出ユニット及び共押出ダイを含む商品名
BATTENFELD 2Dを持つ逐次共押出デバイスで製造した。各々の押出
ユニットは、貯蔵ユニットを含む。
押出ユニットの直径は、60mmであり、長さ/直径比は、第一ユニットにつ
いて20でありかつ第二ユニットについて24である。貯蔵容量は、第一ユニッ
トについて0.7リットルでありかつ第二ユニットについて1リットルである。
