Abstract
Description
Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.以下の(a)〜(c)を有するセラミック点火器。 (a)それぞれが第1の端部を持つ一対の導電性部分、 (b)前記導電性部分の第1の端部のそれぞれの間に配置され、且つこの第1 の端部のそれぞれに電気的に接続した抵抗加熱領域であって、0.5cm未満の 電気経路長さを持つ加熱領域、及び (c)前記加熱領域に接触している電気的に絶縁性のヒートシンク材料。 2.前記加熱領域の室温での抵抗率が約0.01Ω・cm〜約3.0Ω・cm であり、1350℃での抵抗率が約0.001Ω・cm〜約3.0Ω・cmであ る請求項1に記載の点火器。 3.前記加熱領域が第1の抵抗材料を含む請求項1に記載の点火器であって、 この第1の抵抗材料が以下の(a)〜(c)を含む組成を持つ点火器。 (a)約50〜約75容量%の電気的に絶縁性の材料であって、窒化アルミニ ウム、窒化ホウ素、窒化ケイ素、及びそれらの混合物からなる群より選択される 電気的に絶縁性の材料、 (b)約10〜約45容量%の半導体材料であって、炭化ケイ素、炭化ホウ素 及びそれらの混合物からなる群より選択される半導体材料、並びに (c)約8.5〜約14容量%の金属伝導体であって、二ケイ素化モリブテン 、二ケイ素化タングステン、炭化タングステン、窒化チタン及びそれらの混合物 からなる群より選択される金属伝導体。 4.前記電気的に絶縁性のヒートシンク材料が、A1N、Si3N4、BN、A l2O3、及びそれらの混合物からなる群より選択されるセラミックである請求項 3に記載の点火器。 5.前記導電性部分が、前記加熱領域から同じ方向に延びた第2の端部を更に 有して一対の脚を画定し、且つ前記電気的に絶縁性のヒートシンク材料がこれら の脚の間に配置された請求項3に記載の点火器。 6.前記加熱領域が、第1の抵抗材料と電気的に絶縁性のヒートシンク材料と の間に配置されたその場で作られた抵抗部分を更に含む請求項3に記載の点火器 。 7.前記加熱領域が、第1の抵抗材料よりも大きい抵抗率を持つ第2の抵抗材 料を更に含む請求項3に記載の点火器。 8.前記電気的に絶縁性のヒートシンク材料が、AlN、Si3N4、BN、A l2O3、及びそれらの混合物からなる群より選択される少なくとも90容量%の セラミックを含む請求項3に記載の点火器。 9.前記電気的に絶縁性のヒートシンク材料が、本質的にAlNからなる請求 項8に記載の点火器。 10.前記加熱領域が、1〜10容量%のAl2O3を更に含む請求項3に記載 の点火器。 11.前記第1の抵抗材料が、50容量%〜75容量%のAlN、12容量% 〜41.5容量%のSiC、及び8.5容量%〜12容量%のMoSi2を含む 請求項3に記載の点火器。 12.前記加熱領域が、0.05〜0.45cmの電気経路長さを持つ請求項 3に記載の点火器。 13.前記加熱領域が、0.15cm〜0.25cmの電気経路長さを持つ請 求項3に記載の点火器。 14.前記加熱領域が、0.05cm〜0.2cmの厚さ、及び0.05cm 〜0.4cmの深さを持つ請求項3に記載の点火器。 15.前記加熱領域が、1〜10μmの平均粒度を持つ請求項3 に記載の点火器。 16.前記加熱領域が、1〜3μmの平均粒度を持つ請求項3に記載の点火器 。 17.前記加熱領域が、理論密度の少なくとも95%の密度を持つ請求項3に 記載の点火器。 18.前記加熱領域が、理論密度の少なくとも99%の密度を持つ請求項3に 記載の点火器。 19.前記第2の抵抗材料が、前記第1の抵抗材料の約1%〜約20%の深さ を持つ請求項7に記載の点火器。 20.前記電気的に絶縁性のヒートシンク材料が、イットリア、マグネシア、 カルシア及びシリカ、並びにそれらの混合物からなる群より選択される焼結助剤 を更に含む請求項8に記載の点火器。 21.以下の(a)及び(b)の工程を含む加熱方法。 (a)(i)それぞれが第1の端部を持つ一対の導電性部分、 (ii)前記導電性部分の第1の端部のそれぞれの間に配置され、且つこの第 1の端部のそれぞれに電気的に接続した抵抗加熱領域であって、0.5cm未満 の電気経路長さを持つ加熱領域、及び (iii)前記加熱領域に接触している電気的に絶縁性のヒートシンク材料、 を有するセラミック点火器を提供する工程、及び (b)前記点火器の伝導性末端部分の間に3V〜60Vの電圧を印加して、定 常状態電流と急入電流との比が少なくとも35%になるようにして急入電流と定 常状態電流をもたらし、そして前記加熱領域の温度を約3秒未満で約1350℃ まで上昇させる工程。 22.前記定常状態電流と急入電流との比が少なくとも50%である請求項2 1に記載の方法。 23.前記加熱領域が第1の抵抗材料を含む請求項21に記載の 方法であって、この第1の抵抗材料が以下の(a)〜(c)を含む組成物を持つ 方法。 (a)約50〜約75容量%の電気的に絶縁性の材料であって、窒化アルミニ ウム、窒化ホウ素、窒化ケイ素、及びそれらの混合物からなる群より選択される 電気的に絶縁性の材料、 (b)約10〜約45容量%の半導体材料であって、炭化ケイ素、炭化ホウ素 及びそれらの混合物からなる群より選択される半導体材料、並びに (c)約8.5〜約14容量%の金属伝導体であって、二ケイ素化モリブテン 、二ケイ素化タングステン、炭化タングステン、窒化チタン及びそれらの混合物 からなる群より選択される金属伝導体。 24.前記抵抗加熱領域が、50容量%〜75容量%のAlN、13容量%〜 41.5容量%のSiC、及び8.5容量%〜12容量%のMoSi2を含む第 1の抵抗材料を有する請求項21に記載の方法。
