【発明の詳細な説明】
【0001】
【関連出願の説明】本出願は、1998年3月27日出
願のスイス国出願第737/98号の優先権を主張する
もので、そしてこれは、ここでも参照される。

【発明の背景】包装スリーブの包みからなるパッケージ
を製造するパッキング機械において、包装スリーブを製
造するシートは、一般に、少なくとも2つの層を有す
る。パッケージの横方向のシールおよび切断を容易にす
るため、外側の層は内側の層よりも(完成されたパッケ
ージにおいて)高い溶融点を有する。シールシューの温
度は、最外側層の溶融温度よりは低く一方最内側層の溶
融温度よりは高い温度に維持されている。連結されたパ
ッケージスリーブのそれぞれは、シールシューの1つに
組込まれているナイフによって切断される。
【0003】上記概述した形式のシールおよび切断装置
は、例えば、国際出願WO第96/17720号公報等
に開示されている。しかしながら、この種の装置は、単
一材料(モノフィルム)−例えば、低圧ポリエチレン等
−からなる包装スリーブを有するパッケージに対して
は、この種のフィルムがシール(溶接)シューに粘着さ
れがちであるため、適用され難い。

【発明の概要】本発明の1つの目的は、上記概述した形
式の改良された方法および装置、すなわち、包装スリー
ブ上の横断方向シームを溶接し且つこの包装スリーブを
個々のパッケージに切断するのに特に適した方法および
装置を提供することにある。
【0005】明細書の進行と共に明らかとなる上記およ
びその他の目的は、本発明によって達成されるが、これ
によれば(要約して)、熱可塑性の包装スリーブを横方
向にシールおよび切断して個々のパッケージを製造する
装置は、第1方向内で後退および前進可能であると共に
第1ホルダを有する第1の溶接および切断ユニットと、
第1ホルダによって支持される加熱レールおよび第1ク
ランプ機構とを含む。第1クランプ機構は、第1方向を
横切る第2方向内で互いに接離可能である第1および第
2クランプ要素を有する。第2の溶接および切断ユニッ
トは、第1方向内で後退および前進可能であると共に第
2ホルダを有し、スプリング付勢の対向ホルダが第2ホ
ルダ上に装着されてレールと協働し、そして、第2ホル
ダによって支持されると共に第3および第4クランプ要

【好適な実施例の説明】図1を参照して、図示装置は、
水平包装スリーブのパッキング機械の一部分として配設
される。スリーブ(ホース)1−なおこれは、前もって
長手方向のシームを備えられると共に低圧ポリエチレン
等の熱可塑性材料から製作されている−は、搬送方向A
へ前進される。包装されるべき製品3は、スリーブ1に
等間隔で配置される。横方向溶接(分離シーム)は、2
つの隣接製品3の間の中間スペース4内に形成される。
【0007】装置は、上部および下部駆動ユニット10
および11を備えるが、これは、前述した国際出願WO
第96/17720号公報に開示される構造であってよ
い。ユニット10および11は、それぞれの対のクラン
ク12(それぞれ1つのみが示されている)手段を介し
て、それぞれの両水平キャリヤ13および14を、円形
軌道に沿って、互いに同期して且つ反対方向へ平行に駆
動する。4つのクランク12の中の1つがモータ(図示
せず)により駆動され、この従動クランク12に、残り
の3つのクランク12が伝導装置を介して連結される。
ここで、前記モータのrpmは、クランク12の円周速
度の水平成分が、溶接および切断工程の間において、包
装スリーブ1の移行方向Aへの搬送速度と略同一となる
ように制御される。
【0008】各キャリヤ13,14に対してそれぞれの
溶接および切断ユニット15および16が固定され、そ
してこのユニットは、それぞれのキャリヤ13および1
4に取着されるそれぞれのホルダ17および18を含
む。ホルダ17の底部には、楔形状の加熱レール22
が、例えばZrO2等からなる断熱板23を介在して固
定される。レール22は、その底部を半円形状の断面に
形成されると共にこのレール22内を貫通する加熱バー
24を介して加熱される。レールの温度はセンサ25で
検出され、そしてこれにより、設定温度が維持されるよ
う加熱バー24の熱出力が制御される。ホルダ17は、
断熱板23の上方に、冷却水を通す少なくとも1つの貫
通穴26を有する。
【0009】保持機構すなわち保持板28の揺動アーム
27−これは、ホルダ17の各側部に対して平行に実質
的水平方向へ延在されている−が、平行四辺形リンクと
して作動するよう固定されている。揺動アーム27およ
びそれぞれの関節部29は左側の板28に対してのみ牽
引され、右側の板28はホルダ17上に同様にして装着
されているが軸方向へオフセットされている。板28の
下部部分30は、楔形状様に先細とされそしてホルダ1
7の中心平面31へ向け傾斜されると共に平らな水平端
面32を有する。この下部部分30は、更に、冷却水の
ための冷却流路を有する。図1に示す位置において、板
28のストッパ39がホルダ17のそれぞれの対接面4
0と対接される。板28は、スプリング41を介して包
装スリーブ1の中心平面5へ向け付勢され、また板28
の端面32はレール22の下側の下方に位置されてい
る。
【0010】ユニット16は、包装スリーブ1の中心平
面5に関して、ユニット15の実質的な鏡像である。従
って、ユニット16の、ユニット15の部分と同一の部
分には、同一の、但し「′」符号を付けた、参照数字が
付せられている。ユニット16は、ユニット15に対し
て、レール22および板23の代りに対向ホルダ46を
有する点において基本的に異なり、そしてこの対向ホル
ダは、冷却剤穴47を有すると共に、楔形状様に先細と
されそしてその先端部には硝子繊維またはカーポンのイ
ンレイを備えるPTFEインサート48を有する。ま
た、対向ホルダ46は、ホルダ18内を案内されて縦方
向に変位されると共に、スプリング49を介し中心平面
5へ向け付勢されている。
【0011】操作に際し、クランク12が矢印Bおよび
C方向へ回転されると、ユニット15および16はそれ
ぞれ平行する円運動を達成する。ユニット15,16が
包装スリーブ1に到達すると、このユニットは包装スリ
ーブを、図2に示すように、製品3の間の中間スペース
4領域において両側から押圧する。図3は、包装スリー
ブ1が、対向板28,28′の端面32の間に丁度クラ
ンプされた時の状態を示し、レール22と対向ホルダ4
6とは、まだ中央平面5から離間されている。板28,
28′は楔状に先細であり且つ傾斜されているので、中
間スペース4は広い幅を要せず、従ってパッキング材料
が節約される。クランク12が回転し続けると(図
4)、板28,28′がスプリング41の力に抗してホ
ルダ17,18に対して移動され、これによりスリーブ
1が対向板28,28′の間にクランプされると共に揺
動アーム27が揺動され、そしてこれにより板28,2
8′が中心平面31に対して移動される。この結果、ス
リーブ1の領域50が板28,28′の間で僅かに転倒
される(束ねられる)。対向ホルダ46はレール22よ
りも前にスリーブ領域50に到達し、従って(図5に示
すように)、スリーブ領域50はレール22が接触する
までに僅かに持上げられ、そしてこの結果、スリーブ領
域50は緊張されている。このような状態から、対向ホ
ルダ46がスプリング49の力に抗して内側へ押圧さ
れ、そしてこれにより、包装スリーブ1の横方向の溶接
および切断が達成される。図6は、クランク12の死点
中心における状態を示す。クランク12が更に回転する
と、図7,図8および図9に示すように、先ずレール2
2およびホルダ46が相互に分離され次いで板28,2
8′が中心平面31に対して離間される。
【0012】上述した装置手段によって、スリーブ1の
優れた品質の横方向溶接が達成されるが、これは、スリ
ーブ1が、加熱レール22および対向ホルダ46の対接
係合の前に平らに押圧されていることによる。更に、パ
ッケージの間の優れた切断が確保されるが、これは、ス
リーブの部分が溶接後に引離されていることによる。装
置は、例えばポリエチレンからなる単層フィルムの溶接
に良好に適合され、そして良好なシーム品質を達成する
ことができる。付加的な切除は必要とされない。溶接の
残滓による汚損は、板28,28′の強力な冷却によっ
て防止される。
【0013】上記実施例とは別に、板28,28′の中
心平面31に対する垂直動作は、図示の平行四辺形リン
クとは異なる、例えば、クランク12の回転角度に同期
してサイクルされるシリンダのような制御手段によって
も達成されることができる。この場合には、板28,2
8′の、保持工程中における平面31に対する垂直動作
は、クランク12の死点中心通過の前のみかまたは後の
みかのいずれかで発生される。これは、特定の材料のス
リーブ1に対して有利である。

Claims (12)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項1】 物品を内臓した不確定長さの熱可塑性包
    装スリーブ上に横方向のシームを形成すると共にこの横
    方向シーム上で包装スリーブを切断することにより個々
    のパッケージを製造する装置であって、この装置が、 (a)第1方向内で後退および前進可能な第1の溶接お
    よび切断ユニットであって、 (1)第1ホルダと、 (2)前記第1ホルダによって支持されるレールと、 (3)前記レールを加熱する手段と、および (4)第1クランプ機構であって、前記第1ホルダによ
    って支持されると共にこの第1ホルダの両側部に第1お
    よび第2クランプ要素を備え、前記第1および第2クラ
    ンプ要素が、前記第1方向を横切る第2方向内で互いに
    接離可能である第1クランプ機構とを有する第1の溶接
    および切断ユニットと、 (b)前記第1方向内で後退および前進可能な第2の溶
    接および切断ユニットであって、 (1)第2ホルダと、 (2)前記第2ホルダ上に装着されて前記レールと協働
    するスプリング付勢の対向ホルダと、および (3)第2クランプ機構であって、前記第2ホルダによ
    って支持されると共にこの第2ホルダの両側部に第3お
    よび第4クランプ要素を備え、前記第3および第4クラ
    ンプ要素が、前記第2方向内で互いに接離可能である第
    2クランプ機構と、を有する第2の溶接および切断ユニ
    ットと、および (c)駆動手段であって、互いに同期して前記第1およ
    び第2の溶接および切断ユニットを接近させることによ
    りこれらの間に包装スリーブを前記第1および第2クラ
    ンプ要素を介してクランプすると共にこの包装スリーブ
    を前記レールおよび前記対向ホルダを介して係合させ、
    更に互いに同期して前記第1および第2クランプ要素を
    接離させると共に前記第3および第4クランプ要素を接
    離させる駆動手段と、を含むことを特徴とする装置。
  2. 【請求項2】 前記レールおよび前記対向ホルダは互い
    に先細であることを特徴とする請求項1記載の装置。
  3. 【請求項3】 更に、前記レールを前記第1ホルダから
    離間する断熱部を含み、また更に、前記第1ホルダは冷
    却剤の流通穴を有することを特徴とする請求項1記載の
    装置。
  4. 【請求項4】 前記対向ホルダは冷却剤の流通穴を有す
    ることを特徴とする請求項1記載の装置。
  5. 【請求項5】 前記レールは包装スリーブに接触する作
    動領域を有し、この作動領域は少なくとも略半円形の輪
    郭を有することを特徴とする請求項1記載の装置。
  6. 【請求項6】 前記第1および第2クランプ要素は、前
    記レールへ向け傾斜すると共に互いに鋭角をなす自由端
    延在部分を有し、また、前記第3および第4クランプ要
    素は、前記対向ホルダへ向け傾斜すると共に互いに鋭角
    をなす自由端延在部分を有することを特徴とする請求項
    1記載の装置。

    プ要素は冷却剤の流通穴を有することを特徴とする請求
    項1記載の装置。
  8. 【請求項8】 前記駆動手段は、互いに同期して前記第
    1および第2クランプ要素を接離すると共に前記第3お
    よび第4クランプ要素を接離する手段を含むことを特徴
    とする請求項1記載の装置。
  9. 【請求項9】 同期して移動する前記手段は、前記第1
    および第2クランプ要素を前記第1ホルダに対して装着
    する第1平行四辺形リンクと、前記第3および第4クラ
    ンプ要素を前記第2ホルダに対して装着する第2平行四
    辺形リンクとを含むことを特徴とする請求項8記載の装
    置。
  10. 【請求項10】 物品を内臓した不確定長さの熱可塑性

    横方向シーム上で包装スリーブを切断することにより個
    々のパッケージを製造する請求項1記載の装置に係る方
    法であって、下記の工程、すなわち (a)前記第1ホルダおよび前記第2ホルダを第1段階
    において前記第1方向内で互いに接近させることによ
    り、包装スリーブを互いに協働する前記第1および第2
    クランプ機構を介してクランプし、 (b)前記第1ホルダおよび前記第2ホルダを次の第2
    段階において前記第1方向内で互いに接近させることに
    より、包装スリーブを互いに協働する前記レールおよび
    対向ホルダを介してクランプしそしてこれによりこの包
    装スリーブのシールおよび切断を達成し、 (c)前記第1および前記第2ホルダを前記第1方向内
    で互いに離間し、および (d)工程(c)の遂行中に、前記第1および第2クラ
    ンプ要素を、包装スリーブの中心平面に平行な前記第2
    方向内で互いに離間すると共に、前記第3および第4ク
    ランプ要素を、包装スリーブの中心平面に平行な前記第
    2方向内で互いに離間する、工程を含むことを特徴とす
    る方法。
  11. 【請求項11】 更に、工程(b)の遂行中に、前記第
    1および第2クランプ要素を、包装スリーブの中心平面
    に平行な前記第2方向内で互いに接近すると共に、前記
    第3および第4クランプ要素を、包装スリーブの中心平
    面に平行な前記第2方向内で互いに接近する工程を含む
    ことを特徴とする請求項10記載の方法。
  12. 【請求項12】 更に、包装スリーブを、この包装スリ
    ーブの中心平面の外側で切断する工程を含むことを特徴
    とする請求項10記載の方法。
