L' impianto pulisce il vetro superiore della superficie captante dei moduli fotovoltaici facendo traslare su di essi un albero porta spazzole durante la rotazione, mentre un sistema a getti d'acqua depurata, garantisce uno strato d'acqua superficiale che fa da detergente e lubrificante. The system cleans the upper glass of the capturing surface of the photovoltaic modules by moving a brush holder shaft on them during rotation, while a system of purified water jets guarantees a layer of surface water that acts as a detergent and lubricant.

La macchina lava-moduli esegue la pulizia grazie a delle spazzole montate su un albero a lunghezza variabile (a seconda del n° di moduli montati in parallelo lungo il tilt)(vedi tavola 1 figura 1). The module washing machine cleans thanks to brushes mounted on a variable length shaft (depending on the number of modules mounted in parallel along the tilt) (see table 1 figure 1).
La macchina è composta da due corpi fondamentali: The machine is composed of two fundamental bodies:

Il carro consta di motoriduttore collegato alle ruote (vedi tavola 2 figura 4) . Le ruote garantiscono insieme alla guida l'allineamento, la presa e la stabilità del carro rispetto alla guida. Alla struttura portante del carro è fissato un supporto con cerniera che permette di variare l'angolo d'inclinazione fra l'albero portaspazzole e l'asse del carro in modo da seguire l'adeguato posizionamento rispetto all'inclinazione dei moduli (vedi tavola 1 figura 2). Together with the guide, the wheels guarantee the alignment, grip and stability of the carriage with respect to the guide. A support with hinge is fixed to the bearing structure of the carriage which allows to vary the angle of inclination between the brush-holder shaft and the carriage axis in order to follow the appropriate positioning with respect to the inclination of the modules (see table 1 figure 2).

It controls by means of limit switches that the machine never stops on the modules but that it always reaches the rest position (under the casing) (see table 3 figure 5).
Ovvero se tale posizione non fosse raggiunta il PLC, dopo un periodo di attesa dal tempo ciclo previsto, ridà il comando di movimento ed aspetta nuovamente il tempo ciclo, se al termine non riceve il segnale di posizione della macchina sotto il carter, da segnale d'errore tramite apposita segnalazione d'allarme. In questo caso il comando di pulizia viene ridato il giorno dopo alla stessa ora (se le condizioni meteorologiche lo consentono). An anemometer and a temperature sensor are connected to the PLC in order to guarantee the non-functioning of the cleaning system if the weather conditions do not allow it. In this case, the cleaning command is given again the next day at the same time (if the weather conditions allow it).
La movimentazione può essere effettuata anche manualmente spostando il selettore sul PLC in posizione manuale e schiacciando gli appositi tasti. Movement can also be carried out manually by moving the selector on the PLC to manual position and pressing the appropriate keys.
