SISTEMA PER IL SUPPORTO E L’ORIENTAMENTO DI UNA MACCHINA DA CUCIRE AD AGO CURVO SYSTEM FOR SUPPORT AND ORIENTATION OF A CURVED NEEDLE SEWING MACHINE
DESCRIZIONE DELL’INVENZIONE DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The invention is part of the technical sector of sewing machines, with particular reference to those with curved needle, frequently used in the footwear sector.
The original architecture underlying these machines has been the subject of patents for industrial inventions in various countries (see for example US 4,848,252). The curved needle is carried to the free end of an arm, keyed radially on a shaft arranged longitudinally in the machine head.
The shaft is able to be operated by alternating oscillating motion, in order to move the needle between two extreme positions, along a concentric curvilinear trajectory with the radius of curvature of the needle itself.
The machine is equipped with suitable means for support and guidance, designed to define the correct arrangement of the leather flaps during sewing.
In the forward swing, the needle first pierces the edge of one flap, then that of the other, exiting laterally to this, to enter a rotating hook system, commonly called â € œcrochetâ €, designed to cooperate with the flap. ™ needle itself for stitch formation.
In an appropriate phase relationship with the forward oscillation of the needle, a holding foot is activated, which presses the flap, facing the side of the hook in the opposite direction to the advancement of the needle, in order to hold the push of the latter. With the needle engaged in the edges, the longitudinal shaft is axially translated, in synchrony with the hook, by an amplitude equal to a predetermined sewing pitch, thus determining the advancement of the material to be sewn.
The return oscillation of the needle is then controlled, which determines its disengagement from the material and allows the shaft-needle-hook unit to be moved in the opposite direction to bring them back to the initial position. Starting from the parent machine, specific arrangements have been made to obtain derivative machines suitable for particular processes.
As part of these arrangements, arms of various shapes are sometimes provided to which the aforementioned means for supporting and guiding the material to be sewn are fixed.
The aforementioned arms are associated with relative bases, which differ from time to time, on which the machine head is fixed in a predetermined position.
The aforesaid preparations have in turn given rise to corresponding patents, in this regard see, for example, the Italian patent No. 1,310,413, as well as documents WO 96/17989, WO 96/20305 and WO 96/20306.
In addition to these, we point out the IT patent N ° 1,299,967, in which a set-up is defended that allows to sew an open type upper to a relative bottom of printed synthetic material.
In this set-up, the machine head is mounted with an inclined rather than vertical position, thanks to a specially prepared base; with this expedient, combined with an appropriate conformation of the support and guide means that allows the bottom to be sewn to be arranged vertically, an ascending trajectory is obtained between the entry point of the needle, in the upper, and that of the exit, in the bottom.
Since the exit point is higher than the entry point, a more favorable needle exit angle is created in the side of the bottom and therefore a better arranged seam.
The construction of the machines in the various set-ups therefore includes a series of common parts and a certain number of specific details, specific to each set-up. The specific parts, having to be produced in a limited number compared to the common ones, inevitably have higher costs.
In some cases, such as in the castings of arms and bases, these costs are increased by the fact that the processing needs require the creation of minimum batches which can, at times, remain in stock for long periods, according to the trend. of sales orders.
The fact that said arms and bases are included in the kit of elements that characterize an outfitting makes it problematic, if not impossible, for the customer, to transform a machine of one type into another type, in the face of changed production needs. .
The purpose of the present invention is therefore to propose a system for the support and orientation of a curved needle sewing machine, shaped in such a way that it can be used, with a few simple adaptations, in all the possible arrangements provided for the same machine, all in order to increase the parts in common between the various configurations.
Another purpose of the invention is to offer a system that allows you to replace one set-up with another by changing a limited number of pieces without this entailing a decrease in the functionality and reliability of the new set-up.
Another object of the invention is to propose a system the implementation of which involves low costs depending on the performances obtained with it.
The characteristics of the invention will become evident from the following description of a preferred embodiment of the support and orientation system in question, in accordance with what is proposed in the claims and with the aid of the attached drawing tables, in which:

With reference to the aforementioned figures, the number 1 indicates a curved needle sewing machine, of a substantially known type, in which drive means are provided, housed in the operating head 2 of the machine 1 and not illustrated, suitable for oscillating alternating a shaft 3 disposed longitudinally in the head 2 itself (Figs. 12, 13).
An arm 4 is radially keyed on shaft 3, at the free end of which a curved needle 5 is carried which, in this way, moves between two extreme positions, along a curvilinear trajectory R, concentric with the radius of curvature of the Needle 5 itself and arranged in a vertical plane, transversal to the axis of the same shaft 3.
The curved needle 5, in its outward stroke, pierces, in order, the edges L1, L2 of two edges of the material to be sewn together, then partially enters a rotating hook device 6, commonly known as a crochet, with which it cooperates for the formation of the stitch.
With the needle 5 engaged in the flaps L1, L2 the longitudinal shaft 3 is translated axially, in synchrony with the hook 6, by an amplitude equal to a predetermined sewing pitch, thus determining the advancement of the material to be sewn.
The return oscillation of the needle 5 is then commanded, which determines its disengagement from the material and allows an opposite translation of the shaft-needle-hook unit to be carried out to bring them back to the initial position. The system object of the invention, indicated as a whole with 10, comprises modular elements designed to be associated below said head 2 and to be fixed to an underlying work surface P, with said modular elements usable in at least two configurations of arrangement C1, C2, considered with respect to the aforementioned oscillation plane of the needle 5, in the first of which the aforementioned head 2 of the machine is arranged vertically, while in the second the same head 2 is inclined by a predetermined angle.
Nell’esempio illustrato (vedasi fig.1), sono previsti i seguenti elementi modulari: - una colonnetta 11; In the example illustrated (see fig.1), the following modular elements are provided: - a column 11;
- almeno un organo distanziale 12; - at least one spacer member 12;
- two rectangular covering carters, respectively first 13 and second 14. The column 11 has a prismatic shape, in which an upper face 11A is defined, intended to couple with the lower part of the head 2, a lower face 11B, parallel to the first, surrounded by an edge 11C, a front wall 11D and a side wall 11E, both affected by a plurality of holes 110, for example threaded, arranged according to predetermined patterns which allow the fixing, by means of screw members, of different arms, as in specified below.
The rectangular casings 13, 14 are respectively provided to be fixed to said front 11D and side 11E walls, according to assembly combinations better described below.
The spacer member 12 is constituted, for example, by a plate intended to be positioned, on the edge, between said work surface P and the lower face 11B of the column 11, in correspondence with said side wall 11E.
The opposite faces 12A, 12B of the plate 12, intended to meet, respectively, the column 11 and the work surface P, are suitably cut oblique so that the overall angle formed is equal to the aforementioned angle of inclination of the operating head 2 , divided between one side and the other 12A, 12B according to the corresponding support angle.
Two triangular casings 15 are preferably associated with the spacer plate 12, suitable for covering the empty areas between the edge 11C and the worktop P.
In a construction variant it is envisaged that the spacer plate and the casings 15 are made in a single body.
The column 11 is suitable for defining the aforementioned first configuration configuration C1 of the head 2 and, in this case, is fixed directly to the work surface P, for example by means of screw means (not shown) engaged in holes 11F made in the edge 11C (see Figures 2 to 9).
To define the second configuration C2 of the head 2 it is sufficient to combine the spacer plate 12 below the column 11, by means of screw fastening members of a known type not illustrated in detail; the triangular carters 15 are then applied, without structural functions (Figs. 10, 11).
In the following, by way of non-limiting example, the assembly combinations of the system 10 are described in relation to some set-ups provided for the machine 1.
Nelle Figg. In Figs. 2 and 3, the machine 1, in vertical position C1, is made with a first known arrangement X1 (IT patent No. 1.310.413), in which the relative means for supporting and guiding the material to be sewn (not shown) are attached directly to the head 2.
Since no arm is fixed to the column 11, both the aforementioned rectangular carters 13, 14 are applied to it.
Nelle Figg. In Figs. 4 and 5, the machine 1, in vertical position C1, is defined by a second known arrangement X2 (US patent 4,848,252), in which the relative means 20 for supporting and guiding the material to be sewn are fixed to the end of a first shaped arm 21, which is fixed at the side wall 11E and protrudes, cantilevered, up to the area below the needle 5.
Only the first casing 13 is fixed to the column 11, covering the holes 110 provided in the front wall 11D.
Nelle Figg. In Figs. 6 and 7, the machine 1, in vertical position C1, is configured in accordance with a third known set-up X3, for example that described and illustrated in document WO 96/17989, or, alternatively, that referred to in document WO 96 / 20305, i.e. that of document WO 96/20306.
The X3 set-up, in all the variants mentioned, provides that the relative means 30 for supporting and guiding the material to be sewn are fixed to the end of a second shaped arm 31, which is fixed in correspondence with the front wall 11D and it extends, cantilevered, up to the area below the needle 5.
Only the second casing 14 is fixed to the column 11, to cover the holes 110 provided in the side wall 11E.
Nelle Figg. In Figs. 8 and 9, the machine 1, in vertical position C1, is obtained with a fourth set-up X4, in compliance with the patent application for industrial invention N ° BO2009 R000378 filed in the name of the same Applicants.
Also in said fourth set-up X4 the relative means 40 for supporting and guiding the material to be sewn are fixed to the extremity of the shaped arm 41, which is fixed in correspondence with the front wall 11D and protrudes, cantilevered, up to the area below needle 5.
The shaped arm 41, as illustrated, can advantageously be the same as the second shaped arm 31 of the third set-up X3, only fixed lower than the latter, due to the greater development in height of the relative means 40.
The second casing 14 is fixed to the column 11, covering the holes 110 provided in the side wall 11E.
Nelle Figg. In Figs. 10 and 11, the machine 1, in an inclined position C2, is defined by a fifth known set-up X5 (IT 1.299.967), in which the relative means 50 for supporting and guiding the material to be sewn are fixed directly to the head 2 .
Since no arm is fixed to the column 11, both the aforementioned rectangular carters 13, 14 are applied to it.
Figs. 12 and 13 show, by direct comparison, the differences that occur in the sewing action between a machine in vertical position C1 and one in inclined position C2.
In Fig. 12, referring for example to the aforementioned third set-up X3, it can be seen how the two flaps L1, L2 to be sewn are symmetrically positioned with respect to a vertical plane Y which contains the axis of shaft 3 which drives the ™ needle 5.
Consequently, the point of entry of needle 5 in the first flap L1 (on the left in Fig. 12) is at the same height as the point of exit from the second flap L2. Fig. 13, referring for example to the aforementioned fifth set-up X5, partially illustrates the relative means 50 for supporting and guiding the material to be sewn, with the latter consisting, in this case, of an upper T of the open type and a bottom F in printed synthetic material.
Said means 50 comprise an upper guide 51 and a lower guide 52 which determine, for the bottom F, a substantially vertical rib arrangement; the arrangement just mentioned is optimal to facilitate the manual action that the operator must perform during sewing to accompany the material towards the sewing area.
The guides 51, 52 are suitably positioned so that the needle 5 travels an ascending trajectory R between the entry point, in the upper T, and the exit point, in the side of the bottom F.
The orientation of the R trajectory, with the highest exit point, defines a more favorable needle 5 exit angle and therefore a better seam, also from an aesthetic point of view.
Nelle Figg. 14 and 15 a second embodiment 10 is illustrated, in which, among other things, the following modular elements are provided:
- un basamento 212 ; - a base 212;
- una torretta 211. - a 211 turret.
The base 212 has an upper facade 212A arranged inclined, with respect to the horizontal, by a predetermined angle.
The turret 212 has its lower face 211B adapted to couple with the upper face 212A of the base 212 and inclined, with respect to the horizontal, by an angle equal to that of the latter.
The base 212 is fixed to the worktop P with a first orientation K1 (Fig. 14), while the turret 211 is made integral with the lower part of the operating head 2, so that its shortest part in height is from the side of the Entry of Aug 5.
A first coupling combination in which the inclination of the upper face 212A of the base 212 and that of the lower face 211B of the turret 211 are opposite, determines for the latter, and for the machine 1 above, the aforementioned first configuration of ™ C1 vertical trim.
By rotating the base 212 horizontally by 180 °, bringing it to assume a second orientation K2 (Fig. 15), a second coupling combination is determined in which the inclinations of the upper face 212A and of the lower face 211B are added together, so that the turret 211 and the overlying machine 1 are arranged in the aforementioned second configuration configuration C2, inclined by an angle double the inclination of said upper face 212A and lower face 211B.
From the above the positive characteristics of the proposed system emerge clearly, which is very versatile and allows to obtain, with a few simple adaptations, all the possible set-ups foreseen for the machine.
The advantages deriving from having a greater number of pieces in common between the various machines concern, as can be easily understood, the rationalization of production and the warehouse, from which appreciable cost reductions derive.
Another advantageous aspect lies in the fact that a machine that uses the proposed system can be transformed into a machine with a different set-up by changing a limited number of pieces, therefore with a positive impact on the costs of the transformation.
It is understood that what has been said above has an exemplary and non-limiting value, therefore any detailed changes that may have to be made to the system for technical and / or functional reasons are considered to fall within the same protective scope defined by the claims reported below.
