1389410 Jointing JOSEPH LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd 22 Sept 1972 [2 Oct 1971) 45949/71 Heading B3V [Also in Division F2] A bearing consists of a ceramic liner 12 on to which is shrunk a metal housing 11. The liner is preferably of silicon nitride. The housing is preferably shrunk on by assembling the bearing at a temperature which is expected to be the maximum operating temperature of the bearing, and allowing the bearing to cool.
