In uno zaino a tracolla (10), la parete posteriore o schienale (14) è provvista di una pluralità di settori espansibili (16), (16'), (18), (18'), (20), (20'), (22), (24), variamente configurati e disposti in corrispondenza delle regioni cervicale, dorsale e lombare del soggetto utilizzatore. Detti settori, gonfiabili con aria attraverso un dispositivo (32) in essi incorporato, consentono di adattare con precisione lo zaino (10) alla conformazione anatomica del soggetto che lo reca. Una cintura di sostegno, formata da contrapposti rami (28), (28') che si sviluppano dalla base dello schienale (14), incorpora un cuscinetto (30) che perviene a contatto con la regione addominale del soggetto utilizzatore ed assicura una controspinta in scarico alla colonna vertebrale sottoposta a carico longitudinale.
