Abstract

1464070 Dishwashers ELECTROLUX AB 3 Dec 1975 [19 Dec 1974 5 Nov 1975] 49644/75 Heading A4F [Also in Division E2] In a dish-washing machine having a door 11, 12 operable by a pull on a finger grip 34, access to the grip is normally prevented by a shielding device 28, the device being movable inwardly to allow such access and when moved operating a switch 26 to disconnect electric supply to the motor of a water pump feeding spray nozzles so that the spraying is stopped before the door is opened. As shown the door has a pivotable latch 13 engageable with a lug 20 on the machine, the latch being pivotally connected to an arm 24. When the shielding device 28 is pivoted anti-clockwise (into the position shown in Fig. 2), its limb 31 disengages from a projection 27 of the switch 26 to stop the pump. This allows access to the grip 34 which when pulled opens the door, the latch 13 pivoting anti-clockwise and the arm 14 clockwise. A plate 35 biased by a spring 25 abuts the limb 31 and retains the device 28 in the position shown in Fig. 2 when the door is open. In a modification Figs. 4 and 5 (not shown) a slide (39) linked by an arm (36) to the device 28 prevents operation of the latch 13 until the device 28 has been moved and so prevents opening of the door, e.g. by grasping its sides, without movement of the shielding device.
