Abstract

The conveyor has a hopper with one or more points where impulses of compressed gas are injected, and a first valve mechanism alternatively shuts off the flow of material into the base of the hopper, to which a conveyor tube is connected. A second valve mechanism alternatively shuts off a gas outlet to atmosphere and the flow of the material. The gas is also injected in impulses at a further point alternating with the first impulses and immediately downstream of the second valle. The conveyor tube cross-section is open at the discharge end. The first valve can be in the form of a slide, stopping the inflow of material in synchronism with the gas impulses from the first injection point.
