Claims (6)

" r-
1. What I claim is:- 1. An automatically or manually opened valve as used in fire-extinguishing systems, comprising an outlet nozzle closed by a plug, a phial containing an expandable substance sensitive to temperature pressed on said plug by a threaded rod connected to a handwheel, and a remote control cable attached to said handwheel, adapted to free the plus when the cable is pulled.
2. A valve as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said handwheel has a peripheral recess in which the cable is fixed and wound so that, when the cable is pulled it causes the said threaded rod to unscrew and thus free the phial and plug.
3. A valve as claimed in claim 1 Qr 2, including a safety pin which is broken at the time of actuation of the valve by the cable, the pin extending between the handwheel and a fixed part of the valve.
4. A valve as claimed in any of the preceding claims, wherein the nozzle is provided with a diaphragm having helicoidal channels, to distribute the fire-extinguishing fluid over a predetermined area.
5. A valve as claimed in any of the preceding claims, wherein the handwheel and wound-up cable are covered by a hood which is ejected by the cable itself when the valve is operated by the cable.
