1,136,625. Fire extinguishing apparatus. H. LINDLEY Ltd. 4 Oct., 1966 [19 Oct., 1965], No. 44123/65. Heading A5A. Fire extinguishing apparatus, particularly for use near coal belt conveyors, comprises a pressurised container 11 for fire extinguishing media, at least one discharge nozzle 17 controlled by a valve (not shown) in the outlet portion 14 of 11, an actuating member 18 for the valve biassed towards the open position of the valve but held in the closed position by a flexible line 20 in which is interposed at least one fusible link 23, and an electric switch 24, operable by 18 when the latter moves to its open position, with levers 25, for stopping a driving means and/or energising an alarm.
